This place sucks now and the owner is a dick!!! It used to be an institution, now I’d rather eat out of a vending machine at a rest stop than dine here!!!

I won’t rave about the ambiance at this place or the menu, but I will say that they have EXCELLENT pizza. We order from there an awful lot and I am always satisfied. Plus it’s still delicious second day and cold. While I have dined there a couple times nothing has really knocked my socks off on the regular menu, but the pizza is worth it.

Wonderful food at a reasonable price served by a friendly wait staff.

I totally agree the Torch Riviera is a local institution. We used go have family dinners there when I was younger and we still do occasionally. It definitely caters to an older crowd, but that is almost part of it’s charm. The food is alright, but can be pricey.

It’s an institution. My husband recalls going there back in the 1950s. Probably the ownership has changed since then and I know the vibe has. It used to have music but doesn’t now. I go there from time to time and am always less than satisfied with the service and the food. It’s average at best(for Northern Michigan) and might be classified as worse than that when compared to some cities. The customers are mostly older, say 55 to 85, and the food is American … usual to whatever. If you are hungry and don’t want to drive far, then fine… otherwise, don’t bother.
