Out of brisket the night we went was disappointing. But what we had was very good. Some chicken fingers, fries and onion rings. Nice clean place and friendly wait staff.

Went here last June while we were staying at the attached hotel. This place had some of the best BBQ food I’ve had in the Northeast. Good atmosphere and tasty food. The huge basket of fries and the cornbread pancake were great compliments to the brisket and ribs. Its too bad we live in Nashua and the place is over 3 hours away.

They have the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Great flavor in the meat itself, plus tasty sauces to add and it’s the most tender you’ll ever have north of the Mason-Dixon line. I had the combo platter and chose ribs and brisket($ 22.95), my wife got the ribs($ 16.95). She doesn’t like spicy but she still liked hers by scraping off the extra sauce. I like some heat so I added the Texas sauce which tasted strongly of chili powder. But so did the maple flavored sauce, just a little sweeter. I loved them both. The ribs were tender, tasty before the sauces and I really enjoyed them. But the brisket was even better — nice flavor cooked in, without adding sauce. Though they looked dry, they were moist, tender and perfect. I just added a touch of sauce for extra kick but they had plenty of flavor without the addition. Heaven! I took home half the brisket because I couldn’t finish it. I also ordered a top-shelf scotch neat and it was a double(which I didn’t ask for), though it only cost $ 10.50. I think we got great value for the cost.

A clean and conveniently location restaurant beside the Rangeley Saddleback Inn. We tried a cheeseburger cooked to order and a 45th pork sandwich. Both were tasty!

If you are not from the area, move on. This place seems to only cater to locals. I wish Unilocal would allow the option of no stars because this place deserves none. I cannot speak to the food because we didn’t even get seated. My family and I are from Boston and we went to Maine for the weekend. We were in the area and decided to check this place out because it had a good Unilocal rating. The place wasn’t too busy. There were some empty tables. We were a party of 7 so we needed 2 tables which we didn’t think would be a problem as there were empty tables scattered around the room. Upon arrival, the waitress told me it’d be a minute. We watched while she serviced the other customers and then came back to us 15 minutes later and told us it would be an hour. We asked if they could just push some tables together and she responded ‘I guess so’. We waited and watched while she kept servicing her other customers, who looked like regulars, and ignored us. Another 15 minutes later, she says she is still working on it and returns to take care of her other customers… so we walked out. We were all pretty sure it was because we didn’t look like we were from the area.

Tremendous BBQ. Great flavors that will make you compare the taste every time you eat bbq elsewhere. Great for Rangeley.

We ate here twice in one week it was so good. We never had an issue with service as pointed out in another review. The barbecue is really amazing. The highlight was the 45th parallel sandwich — great ham, barbecue, and I believe brie cheese, pickles. Amazing. Eat here.

Welcome to the Rangeley dining scene. How is it possible to have very good food — across the Board — and leave customers ready to scream? This place does it. We had dinner here three times. The bar-b-que, the salads, the fried pickles, onion rings all first-rate. Brisket, pulled pork, sauces all some of the best food we’ve ever had in this town(though one could say that’s not a tall order). But then — the service. Beyond atrocious. One waitress for the entire place. And a surly one at that. She told us bluntly when we inquired why she didn’t have help: «I don’t want any; that way I can keep all the tips myself.» They must be small ones. We watched people walk in, then walk out in frustration. Dirty tables never cleared. «Seat yourself, wherever.» It is hard to believe that the person who owns this place can not watch the scene in horror. It’s too bad. Rangeley has few places one can get decent food at any price. This 45th Parallel should be the best bet in town. They are blowing it.

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant to go to when my husband and I visit Rangeley! The food is so delicious, the atmosphere is relaxing with friendly service, it’s clean and a great place to go with your family, or a group of friends that way you can steal bites off of their plates when you finish yours first! I’ve had the ribs(my favorite!), brisket, pulled pork, green chili, the 45th Parallel sandwich(so good!) some of which will come cole slaw, beans and a corn griddle cake. This pancake tastes like heaven! For an appetizer the last time we visited we had a skewer of steak tips. OMG… I wish I had that for my meal it was so tender. Next trip! For dessert I’ve only ever tried the bourbon bread pudding which was really very good! Some people go to Rangeley for it’s beautiful lakes, amazing mountain views, for great skiing, or hiking, maybe even some four wheeling. I go to Rangeley for spectacular BBQ. 45th Parallel offers a delicious menu! This restaurant is a can’t miss place to eat when you visit the area.

Excellent service and great food at a fair price. My family of four had dinner there and the waitress was extremely conscious of my need to avoid gluten. I had the pulled pork sandwich and the do have gluten free rolls(Udi’s). The pulled pork is served«naked» with four different bottles of homemade BBQ sauce, three of which are gluten free. The rest of my family also enjoyed the meal, and when you include a teenager and a picky ten year old with no complaints, that’s a good thing. We will go back on our next trip to Rangeley.
