Paradise Total Spa and Nails

Ugggh. My manicurist Sole was the most unfriendly, distracted nail technician I’ve ever come across. CONSTANTLY looking away and at everything but my nails as she worked on them. She seems extremely unhappy. I think she spoke to me twice. No smile. My gel manicure has unfinished polish on the tips of a few nails. no surprise. She was very rough with the file to get the gel off. and overly sloppy with product. Her massage was a total joke. Why bother. Was my first visit. Never again. You come to get pampered and treat yourself and leave feeling like you were a nuisance. I’m a really great tipper and tipped her 10 bucks on a $ 30 service. I regret that. I don’t think she said goodbye she just walked away. I’ll go elsewhere this place is like a factory. Did I want to complain afterwards? Sure, but did I want to sit there and have to deal with her fixing my nails? no. I just wanted to leave. The corners and edges of my nails are unfinished and extremely sharp like you’re going to snag on something. No polish on them no gel top coat on the corners.
Update: someone obviously connected with the salon sent me a message saying: you failed realize that Sole is 8 months pregnant give her a break. I definitely have a heart for anyone who’s pregnant and I definitely know that working during pregnancy is hard. If working at this place puts people in the mindset of being miserable, withdrawn and unhappy. maybe that’s a problem with the working environment they put these women in. It’s just not a place I’d go back to. And because someone’s pregnant and giving me a service I’m supposed to accept mediocre? Unfinished nails and rough edges, rough sloppy treatment of my nails when I’m paying for the service? It just makes absolutely zero sense. Pregnant or not. Jeeze.
A nice service person would accept a tip and say with a nice smile thank you so much I hope you have a great day or whatever a nice greeting is when you say goodbye to a paying customer. I’ve never felt so unwelcome ever. She just snatched my cash and walked away.

Fantastic pedicure. The spa is very clean. Everyone is very efficient and friendly. We made an appointment and were taken very close to the time.

This place reminds me of a nail factory. I feel like the workers are so rushed and the treatment reflects that feeling. The Asian women that mostly do the manicures and I find them extremely rude, hurried and rough. It is a beautiful salon but they need to work on better customer service.

I had an amazing gel manicure done by diana on mothers day and just today had a wonderful facial by gina! You receive top notch customer service without the high end spa pricing. Found my go to place.

This an awful place I wouldn’t never came back first this I did my nails there acrylic and gel it was ok and then I came back 2 weeks later for filling and this lady name Rina she did my nail she hurt my fingers on my left hand and plus the gel came off the next day

I have been coming here since Anne left the Succasunna location (don’t go to that one. this one is so much better and newer and the staff is so much nicer!) you can’t beat their pedicures… Anyone you get, they are all awesome… Long leg massages and foot rubs make it so relaxing. My husband loves their pedicures too! They have a ton of colors and are always getting the new Essie colors in. I get gel manicures and they also have a ton of gel colors and will do any design you ask as long as you have a picture to reference. I have also gotten their pink/​white LCN Gel nails and May did an awesome job with them too. They do get busy, but it is worth the wait and they have so many workers that it is usually only 15/​20minutes. Their prices are the norm but their services are beyond what you pay for. Go here. You won’t want to go anywhere else after :)

Haven been here since 2012, same owner and still great service. You get a discount when you pay cash. My nails look amazing plus I didn’t have an appointment today.

I’d had an appointment but when I came they were surprised. After a while they found out that they had it in the system but mixed up some of appointments they received. Its OK I thought and waited a while as suggested by owner or a manager (not sure). Than I got lady that was doing hot Brazilian Wax but due to constant «visits» and knocking from her lady-​boss (come on… Brazilian Wax is going on !), asking if she finished already (!) I got BURNED!!!
To make it up to me another one, claimed to be experienced (wtf??? I got «by student» for the price of regular treatment or what?) finished it up. When I got home I found out that residues of waxing paper and some glue-​like substance was all over my … you know what…
Jeeezzzz, how they have enough clients (or rather customers as they treat us IMO) to justify to some degree that rushing «student» up, I have no idea. I guess some of us don’t realize it can be better?

Paradise is the best place to go to have a manicure/​pedicure. I have gone to many and Paradise is always consistently good. I truly enjoy.

My daughter and I have been going to Paradise Total Spa and Nails since the day it opened! We’ve had mini-​birthday parties for my daughter, who is 7 and a few of her girlfriends, which was affordable and adorable, and they were treated like princesses.
Yesterday, as it was a school holiday, we met up with two other friends and their daughters, as it was busy, Anne, the owner, sat down and did my daughter’s manicure, rather than have her wait, and I finally treated myself to a 10 minute back massage. This will be my new «pedicure drying procedure», as I relaxed while my toes dried.
Each time I visit, I’m welcomed by the front desk and most of the technicians know me by name «Maria’s Mom».
The Spa is absolutely beautiful and I will be scheduling a facial soon.
Anne and her staff are always welcoming and friendly. Customer Relations is truly their goal.

Based on my first visit this place is amazing! The pedicure was extremely relaxing and they use real honey and lemon for the basic pedicure! My gel fill in was perfect and while my nails were drying i got a great back and neck massage that i did not want to stop. They are very busy so definitely schedule an appointment before you go. I was able to call Sunday morning and made and appointment for the same day. There is also a spa there that i can’t wait to try. I definitely will try the body scrub and massage soon. Hana did my nails perfectly can’t wait to go back!

By far one of the best places around… I recently moved to Rockaway, NJ and as much as I loved my old place I had to switch because of distance. Highly recommend — such a nice friendly place… very caring about ur needs and actually talk to you while helping you… love it

Just got a gel manicure at paradise nails. I have been going there for years and never had an issue. Until today. The nail tech, Olga, was SO rough on my nails while filing, she filed my cuticles. She then cut the top of my pinky with the cuticle cutter. She put the cotton soaked in nail polish remover on my skin that was clearly bleeding and I asked her to take it off because it burned so bad.
She continued doing my nails and once the gel was on, I can’t even explain to you how terrible they looked. Never in my life have I seen nail polish look like a 5 year old had done it, when I was paying a professional for a service.
She asked if I wanted to change my polish and I said absolutely. So she started filing them again and filing my skin like she was a lumberjack chopping down a tree. I was almost in tears by this point because my skin was so raw. She got up, without saying a word and another tech took her seat. I got my nails re done and the picture below is the end result.
I brought it to the owners attention that Olga was so rough on my nails and said said she was sorry and that she would talk to her. I pay $ 30 to get a gel manicure. I also spent 2 hours in the nail salon like an idiot. No discount or free service. I won’t be going back here for a while.

I went here for the first time a few days ago to refill my eyelash extensions; I had previously gone to a few other salons so had expectations of what the experience was supposed to be like, as I have been getting eyelash extensions for almost a year.
I was impressed by the size of the salon and spa and the number of employees, all of whom seem to be well liked by the clients who were there to get their nails done. However, my experience with the eyelashes was not quite as satisfactory. I thought it was much more rushed than usual, making it a bit more painful. The lights were kept on bright the entire time and there was no spa music in the room I was in, which didn’t help with distracting me from having the lashes done. My eyes were very irritated afterward, and as I said before, the process seemed rushed and less «by the books» than usual, which gave me discomfort throughout the process. Additionally, I have only had the new lashes in for a couple days and they are already all starting to fall out!
It seems that this salon does well with salon needs such as mani/​pedis but maybe needs to brush up on their spa practices.

I tend to agree with some of the more recent pieces of feedback. This place used to be much better. Now it’s too busy and unorganized. The owner did my gel manicure today and not only did she cut me and not apologize for making me bleed she also did an awful job painting my nails — even though it took her twice as long than it should have! I’m super disappointed that an owner would let me walk out of her shop with how my nails looked. It’s a direct reflection of your business! Unfortunately I will need to find a new place going forward because if she can’t realize that her work was poor and unacceptable than nothing I am going to say is going to change that.

This used to be my favorite place for a mani-​pedi in the area. Service used to be consistently great. While none of the desk staff or other workers ever seemed to recognize me (despite coming weekly for 2 years), things were very organized and the treatments were always terrific.
Things have rapidly deteriorated. I’m not sure if it’s the new desk staff (there are 3) or if it’s because business is seemingly booming, but I have had highly disappointing services 4 times in a row now. I was lost in the shuffle 3 times out of the last 4 times I have been here, resulting I long waits while other walk ins got seated before me. They offer a great «Spot On» app which gives you one point for each visit. After 10 visits, you get 25% off your service. Except when the technician «forgets» to give it to you then refuses to fix the problem.
I’m only continuing to come here because I have gift cards. Once those are done, I am off to a nail salon that has its act together. Sadly, this is no longer the case here.

Not exactly a «spa» experience — and I know of spas. I usually go to Bliss for waxing and other spa services and I love it there, but I must say that this place does a superb waxing. I had Jane for a Brazilian and underarm wax at 1 pm and I was done by 1:16 — not exaggerating! It was one of the quickest and least painful brazilians I’ve had and altogether cost me 65 $ (so cheap). Btw they give you 15% cash back if you pay with cash.
Now I only give it 3 stars because they call themselves a spa and it’s more like a nail salon that does some waxing. I was not offered any kind of beverage, and the front desk staff was acting frazzled like they weren’t used to being busy. Technician stayed in the room while I undressed which can be uncomfortable and the bed is covered with cut up yoga mats (seriously?)! On top of that, they don’t offer you any kind of cover up while you lay on the table completely exposed… And each time she pulled the strip she would go «ouch» which is not exactly what I want to hear when someone is waxing my lady bits.
Overall it was a good wax but a bad spa experience — I’ll stick to bliss… but if I’m ever in need of a last minute service this is my spot.

I’m not for the area and I was treated to a pedicure here along with a color change.
I just had my manicure done at another salon and I didn’t like the design that was on my nails so I got a color change to match my toes along with a design. I told the girl behind the front desk I had acrylic nails and that wasn’t a problem.
My first impression of the salon is it’s very busy the owner greets you at the door when you arrive and they offer you to sit down while you waiting for a chair to open up for a pedicure. If you’re getting a manicure then they ask you to pick your color and they had a large assortment to choose from.
I noticed that this was a very clean salon everything looked fairly new. I like that they had an autoclave to sterilize the instruments and they also had hot towels. They had a fresh pot of coffee brewing and they had a platter of cookies for anyone who wanted a snack.
I came with three other people so I wasn’t sure how that was going to work. The owner Charlie made sure that I was seated next to my daughter along with the rest of my party.
I watched as the pedicurists scrubbed the footbath after each and every pedicure.
We had appointments and they pretty much kept on time they also except walkins but I always believe when getting a manicure and pedicure you should have an appointment.
I was assigned to a girl by the name of Johana. She was very nice a little shy and she did a fabulous job. She asked me how I like my toenails done just trimmed or very short and she asked me if I liked them filed short, squared etc. I asked if she could do a design on my two big toes and she said yes. I let her do whatever she wanted and it came out really nice.
I then showed her my manicure and told her I just had gotten one and asked her if maybe she could do a polish change with the new design and she did when I was finished.
I was impressed on how she applied the polish to my nails. She didn’t rush she took her time and applied each layer perfectly.
Johanna did the exact same design on my fingernails as she did on my toes.
My daughter also enjoyed her pedicure. They used hot rocks, and a foot scrub, and lemon balm and it was really really relaxing with the massage. The chairs are very comfortable and they also had built-​in massagers if you chose to use it.
I found this salon to be very friendly along with all of their customers. All the ladies talk to one another and it was a really good feeling. Since this is also a spa they do waxing and eyelash extensions but I did not have that done. If I’m in the area again I would definitely come here to get a manicure and pedicure.

Stopped by b/​c I was in the neighborhood and was in desperate need of a mani/​pedi.
First impression is that it’s very clean and it was really nice to be greeted upon arrival.
Quickly seated for my mani, the girl next to me (who I don’t know, so I was even impressed by the friendliness of their clients) started talking to me.
I noticed how beautiful her eyelashes were, and she told me she gets extensions at Paradise. Now… I have always been curious of them but never actually took the plunge to spend that kinda money on eyelashes. But after talking to her, I was convinced! I asked my nail tech if there was any availability for eyelash extensions. I was in luck and they’d be able to take me after my pedicure.
To sum up my review (b/​c I know sometimes a long review gets boring).I had a wonderful afternoon at Paradise!!! I’m sad I don’t live closer b/​c I’d be there every week! Everything was wonderful, the techs, the clients, the salon… definitely impressed!
I’m going to try to attach a picture of my new eyelashes– which I am IN LOVE with! I don’t know if I could ever go w/​o them now!!!
