Makai Building Inspection

I recently hired Dave Hext from Makai building inspection after he was referred to me by two of my friends, who have recently used his services. Dave showed up on time and was very professional. Dave took his time answering my questions before, during, and after the inspection. The report was received in a timely manner (same day) and was very thorough. The report included pictures and a summary section for the more important items. I have purchased many homes and Dave’s services far exceed any other inspector that I have used in the past.

I have worked with many inspectors but the only one I now recommend is Dave Hext with Makai Building Inspection. As a real estate agent it is very important to me that any vendor I recommend to my clients is dependable, detail oriented, honest, efficient and personable. Dave gets a 10 out of 10 on all points. At each inspection he always shows up early. He efficiently and thouroughly inspects the entire property, taking detailed notes and photos, all using his ipad. He emails the report within an hour of the inspection. Once he has completed his inspection he will sit down with the clients and walk them through everything he has seen, even showing them each item first hand, so they can see it with their own eyes. Even if my clients have not been able to be at the inspections, Dave will always make himself available to walk them through the report on the phone, and always remains accessible even weeks beyond the inspection date. The great connection he makes with clients, allows them to feel a great sense of trust which encourages them to really engage about the property. It can be scary buying your first home. He is not afraid to send up red flags about something that really concerns him, and recommend having a specialist do further investigation. Not every item, even though he notes it, is not a very big fix. He will point this out to them, and even give a rough price range on repairs. Dave Hext will always be my first and only call!
