I live in the SF Bay Area where space is limited, so traveling to Rancho Cucamonga or the general Inland Empire area and seeing the relatively large parks and yards always impresses me more than the average Jane. This park is located immediately across a high school so I’m not sure if on school days, it’s used for dating and various other recreational activities that may not necessarily be appropriate for kids. It is equipped with a large field, a small outdoor basketball court, and two play structures — one for toddlers and another for older children.(+5 stars) We stayed in the toddler area for a majority of our time there, and I was very surprised to see that one of the slides had a HUGE drop which caused numerous toddlers to fall and hit the back of their heads against the base of the slide. Please fix that!(–1 star) The ground immediately under and around the play structures are padded with sand, which seems like a great idea until you realize that it unfortunately means you might not be able to easily spot critters or dangerous objects like the glass container of medical marijuana that a fellow Mom discovered when I visited the park. Or cigarette butts, which I found myself. Also, kids could throw sand at each other.(–1 star) A free and spacious outdoor parking lot is available for park visitors to use.

Overall a good park, lived around it my whole life. Not the safest place to be a night so plan going with family/children during the day.

My practice location during my girls’ softball season. This park has 2 fields, basketball court, walking path and playground areas, for smaller children and another play area for the bigger children. No lights here for the fields or basketball court.

Small park, lots of shade. Doesn’t get ridiculously crowded. Has two softball fields, a couple b ball courts, a walking trail, and of course, play equipment for the kiddos. The city needs to come and fix a part of the play structure that’s broken, but I wont knock them on that because I don’t know how long it’s been that way. Another safe Rancho park to bring your family to.
