The Compassionate Clown Company was born in December of 2009. Since then, we have surprised and dazzled hundreds of children and their families at birthday parties, open houses, celebrations, baptisms, schools, nurseries, colleges, and more! Meet the Business Owner

Vanessa H.

Business Owner

The Compassionate Clown Company was founded in 2009 by Vanessa Hidalgo whose love for performing began nearly 25 years ago. Her passion in working with children began as a teenager when she began teaching drama and public speaking to youth. She received her Bachelor of Art’s degree in Theater from Occidental College, and completed the 2 year professional acting program at The Sandford Meisner Center.

After many years of being a struggling actress, waiting tables, and holding multiple jobs, Vanessa needed a change. She began clowning with a Los Angeles company in 2007 and discovered a love for entertaining at children’s parties. In 2009, Vanessa turned vegan after rescuing a malnourished cow from a stockyard in Chino, and that December, The Compassionate Clown Company was born. All of our shows thrive on the talents of our performers, and we do not exploit or use animals of any kind.
