This guy is something else. So I called to have an open conversation about obtaining services and billing like most business owners or most normal adults would have. After all, isn’t communication key? This guy was absolutely rude and out of line. I hope his quality of work is better than his attitude. Odd thing is he’s stopped by our office to drop off cards a few times to ask for business. Good luck dealing with this guy!

I apologize that u are so offended that you need to reply with anything else other than an apology. But customer service skills are needed here! A better response would have been… «We are closed today, do you mind if I call you back Monday». If you treat your potential customers this way, I can imagine what kind of work you do. Also your definition for handy man must be different than mine.

These guys are great! Les and his son are really conscientious tradesmen and they can fix anything. From plumbing leaks to paint or water remediation work, wood floors or electrical they are right on top of it. Honest and reliable as can be, too! I have hired Les many times and feel like he may be the only guy I’ll ever need for all the stuff that comes up when you least expect it!

Like a previous review, I had given this company 5 stars after exceptional service and work.
However, poor communication and no follow through are not a good way to keep customers. I have texted and called Payless Handyman regarding some work, but the response was very spotty.
I hate to do this because I liked him a lot during our first few interactions. But when his responses are non-​existent, this just does not suit well.

We had them paint our commercial center. They did the work during off hours. They did a walk through and followed up every night. The work was professional. We are happy with the results. Their prices are reasonable as well. I’d recommend using Payless Handyman. Les, one of the owners, is great.

Giving Les 1 star is me being overly generous. Les stated he would arrive at my home at 9am and called me at 9:42am to tell me he was not able to make it until the evening. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and accommodated his request even though I’m the customer! Once he arrived he raised his price from $ 210 to $ 270 to paint and hang a closet door. I asked if he was willing to lower his price and he was rude and stated he didn’t care if I had someone else do the job. Les then said it’s probably better to have someone else do the job. Les was completely unprofessional.

I had previously given Les 5 stars. But since I’ve called him twice to have other work done and he didn’t even bother responding… I unfortunately have to reduce my rating to 2. Very nice man. just doesn’t follow up or follow through. I needed an estimate for installing an oven over a month ago. I sent him pictures of what I needed and never heard back. Though I don’t think its his usual practice. he’s done this to me twice before. :\ Sorry Les. but I’m just being honest.

Les and his team were wonderful! I had been trying to schedule some repair work at my house as I was putting it on the market for sale. No one was available, until I called Payless, and I’m glad I did! Les was very helpful as we talked through the needed work. His estimate was higher than I had hoped to pay, but it was in the ballpark and I really needed to have the work done. They came out as scheduled and did everything they could to complete the work in the amount if time I had before it went on the market. They kept me informed at all steps in the project, and made me feel like their #1 customer. I had a lot of different things that needed to be done (electrical, tile repair, painting, refinishing cabinets), and they did them all and did them well. They were extremely professional and responsive. Next time I have repair projects, they will be my first call!

Les and sons remodeled our, kitchen, bathrooms, master bedroom and family room and couple years ago and did a fantastic job. When we needed our guest bathroom made disabled friendly there was no question who we would have do the work. Once again Les did a wonderful job.

Les is truly a great guy, his customer service is off the chart. Les is very professional and down to earth. He took the time to explain the process of what he was doing while patching a hole and texturing my wall. To top it off Les left me with a paint brush, container and tips on how to reprint the patched hole so that It blends better with older paint. I would definitely hire him again in the future if I need any repairs. Natasha

Even though Les is not driving here in Chino Hills to fix a pipe burst, but he sure helped with my client to find the water shut-​off valve and directed him to do some preventive things.
In that sense, he helped me via the phone.
Very nice person and sure will recommend him if you have a job needs to be done.

We recently moved to the area and had many things that needed to be taken care of… new faucets; disconnecting, exchange and reconnect existing washer & dryer with ours; pieces of art from Europe that had to go on the wall; curtain rods and curtains, etc
Les offered us an excellent price for the whole day.
His guys were on time, have good manners, they are very easy to work with, have a very good sense of layout (in terms of how to hang art), an excellent knowledge and were at all times very friendly and helpful.
They were in our place three times and never left it dirty, at no time tools were flying around or we had to step over stuff.
It was a pleasure working with Les and his team and for sure he will be the first to call when we need a handyman again.
I can recommend him 100%.

I was in need of A handyman service. We needed to finish some work that was left over from contractors that worked on the house that we were selling. I found Les, gave him a called. He answer the phone right away, I explained to him what I need it. He asked a lot of questions in regards to the job, before he even gave me a quote. We communicated back-​and-​forth. When it was time to do the job he was there on time. Les and his crew work fast and efficiently. I will hire them again when we have another house to sell. Or any other job that we have in any property. Thank you Les.

I had a problem with a set of lights that suddenly would no longer turn on. I called Les and before coming over he had me walk through a couple of trouble shooting tasks. This helped me to isolate the problem to the actual wall switch. This surprised us both, as the house is only 6 years old and light switches don’t typically malfunction. Les asked me if I thought I was capable of replacing the switch myself. I told him that I had done it before and could probably do it this time without burning the place down. He told me no charge and that he was happy that he could help me save the cost of his minimum charge for a house call.
Les, thank you for your willingness to help. Next time something beyond my minimal abilities goes wrong with the condo, Les will be the first person I call.

Well, I can honestly say that I spent some time with Les on the phone going over some «potential» repairs needed to my property. In speaking to Les, we agreed that it was too much of a distance and the cost would be much more that I would anticipate. Be careful with this one I was initially impressed with our phone conversation however when the uncertainty of scheduling in the timely manner in which I needed according to his schedule being so full, I had obtained the service of someone who could get to my problem sooner. This company then attempted to hold me accountable to a contingent conversation we had via text even though I released him from service and retained other service. Very nice man but very disappointed in business ethics. Lesson learned here read reviews from others carefully, you only get one chance to make a first impression, a happy customer may tell one other person but an unhappy customer will tell many and with the multiplicity in social media its not Advantageous for a business to have negative feedback especially when there is such a variety of competition. Mr. PAYles, we had one 2 minute conversation. After you commented «what would be the point?» I simply replied with a «thank you» said nothing else and hung up. I’m not sure what your definition of thank you is. Why would I get confrontational when there are businesses I can go to. BEWARE Unilocalers, this one is a piece of work… NEED I SAY MORE? Hmmm, What’s the saying? Don’t need to take out the garbage, it’ll take itself out.
