Nicolson’s Strawberries

I’ve only been to this place once a few years ago and remember how good their strawberries were. What disappoints me is I have no idea what days or what time they sell these strawberries. I called their number several times and no one picked up. I ended up driving there twice and they were closed both times. It was only around 5 o’clock. There’s no sign either that indicates what their hours of operation are. How do they expect to receive more customers and money if they don’t have any information on when they’re open. Something so simple could be fixed by updating their information online.

I’ve lived in the area now for 8 years and I don’t have a reason as to why I haven’t ever patronized this family owned business earning a decent living selling ripe strawberries 6 months out of the year. Located where two cities boundaries meet, Rancho Cucamonga on the east and Upland on the west along historic Route 66 Foothill Blvd. Strawberries are picked daily and sold to local merchants and sell to public. Once you take a bite you can taste the difference in comparison to grocery bought. Full of natural juice explodes in your mouth and be careful not to stain your top like I did. Get a firm pinch on stem and eat entirely in two bites. These are ripe and ready to be consumed and don’t expect them to last in your home as store bought. They come in 3 pack, 6 pack, half and full. Prices are definitely higher but you’re consuming a healthier grown fruit.
Easy access as you enter property, you drive on large gravel that helps maintain dust to a limit. Pull up directly in front of shack and go about your business. They take cash and honor the old method in good faith «personal check». I did notice a small section with ripe avocados and they also sell cherries that are grown elsewhere.
Property is fenced and clean with little farming equipment tucked away behind shack, farmer residence and sits well on over 10 acres.
A famous donut shop in Glendora was mentioned in conversation and I can’t confirm but Nicolson Farms might be the exclusive supplier of their delicious strawberry field donuts when in season?

I love supporting small local businesses. I am a regular here because the berries are usually delicious, and I happily pay more for the quality. I don’t even bother with grocery store strawberries anymore. These are worth every penny!

My family and I have been getting our strawberries here ever since I could remember. The freshness compared to supermarket fruits is undeniable. Besides probably at a farmer’s market, there is no other place in the area where you can get such freshly-​picked and perfectly-​flavored strawberries at a fair price.

Their strawberries are THE BOMB. The only strawberries that I’ve ever had that were even were even comparable were from my backyard. They had really great oro blanco (grapefruit) and oranges too with pre-​cut samples. Maybe a little more than a grocery store but totally worth it. Cash only!

Went here today to pick up some strawberries. They are amazing. I had my 6 year old with me and the lady asked «is he the only child in the car? Yes «I said and she reached into the back and pulled out a special giant strawberry. I guess they keep the unusual ones for the kids. He loved it! Try this place.

Really good place to get Fresh Ripe Strawberries! I am a frequent customer! I would recommend this place to anyone!

These strawberries are really amazing. I did not like strawberries for along while because I find most strawberries very dry and sour. I usually get strawberries at supermarkets. After trying the strawberries from here, I fell in love with strawberries all over again. I’m not saying these strawberries are not sour! These strawberries are sour! But after the sourness, you can taste sweetness. And they are so juicy! It’s like a perfect mix of sour sweet and juiciness. It’s pretty great. These are a bit expensive but you do get what you paid for. I’d rather pay some extra money for these than the ones at the supermarket. I wouldn’t even eat the ones bought at the supermarket so it would be a waste of my money anyway.

I am a «Strawberryologist» and my recommendation is to only buy your strawberries here. Why go anywhere else, WHY. HOT Tip… after several cool days and one sunny day go the next day the Berries will be super huge and super sweet.

Frankly, fruit sold in groceries stores are almost completely flavorless. They flat out suck. When you want strawberries that actually taste like they are supposed to, come here. Yes, the prices are more expensive than in stores, but they are worth it. Especially since their product is literally growing right behind their stand.

Went to this place yesterday for the first time. The strawberries are amazing! It is worth it to pay a little more and be able to eat everything but the stem! Also, strawberries are extremely good for you — pay now, or pay later!

My son loves this place and we been to alot of places that sell fresh strawberries.
ya you can get strawberries at $ 2.50 at Ralphs or Vons, but sometimes paying that extra $$ for juicy and sweet strawberries is well worth it;-)
