I always get awesome service & great info for my dogs & birds here. Also purchased some wood for my fireplace. I’ve saved lots of money by purchasing my pets shots & giving it to them myself.

This review is regarding American feed in Phelan because they don’t have a Unilocal page.
The store is always clean inside and the yard is always great, I’ve had problems with nails in my tires at other yards but not there.
All employees are very polite and respectful, doing everything they can to make your experience enjoyable. The ladies inside and guys outside are all super personable and hustle to give everybody a great experience.
I have been shopping at the previous store Diamond C Hay and Feed for 3 years. Just recently since the store changed over to American feed with the new owner things have been going down hill.
–Constantly running out of feed
–Getting told things would be in on Tuesday and it never arrives.
–Been in multiples times in the last month for dog shots and they are always out of stock.
A few times being in Ive overheard the owner chewing out employees in front of everybody and even being rude to his own paying customers.
Great prices, personable employees and good hours. I would love for things to improve again so I can continue shopping but I cannot shop here if there is no product or a hostile environment.

Great, helpful and friendly staff, clean and well stocked, staff will load you items for you with a smile, service is pretty fast, Frozen bones for dogs are fresh, quality inventory of foods and treats for your pets, Give them a try, i don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Support Local mom and Pops over the big chains! This store has everything petco and petsmart has and more

Great pet supply store nice people and very helpful staff. Firewood and propane also. We rented a few hay bales from them for a party and they were great

Probably the pet store with the worst service in the Rancho Cucamonga area. I live a couple blocks from the store so I thought I’d give them a try since my wife and I love to support local businesses. We’ll never go back again. There were about 3 young people working when we went in. All 3 were busy chatting with a family of customers and never bothered to help us. We walked around looking at the dog food for about 5 minutes, but the workers didn’t even bother to at least say they’ll be right with us. We left and will shop at other local pet shops that are further away.

Last time trying these guys. Met chad once and was a really nice guy. Spent a lot of time talking, very informative and customer service has above and beyond. But he was the only reason I’d go back to spend money there. Stopped by there this morning to buy some feed and for the final time I was greeted by less the enthusiastic employees. I try to support local small business instead of the larger feed suppliers up in the high desert where the ranch is however poor customer service is a deal breaker for me. Hope this business all the best.

Ok. the awesome thing about this place is down to earth knowledge and they only supply you what you need. I get all my birds seeds here dog snacks chews prices are great… they have beautiful savanna cats for sale and everything for horses. love coming here… this people are fabulous. Flori

The people behind the counter are very knowledgeable. HOWEVER, the «help» wouldn’t know the products of this store if their life depended upon it. My last purchase was wrong, I was charged for the right things, I was given the suggestion to buy Cedar shavings for my chicken coop since they are better for them (It would actually kill the chickens) and the guys that bring the big bags out to your car brought the wrong feeds out and I didn’t realize until I got home and opened up the bags. The bags are lacking ANY TYPE of visual information on what type of feed it is. Poultry Feed is NOT scratch and when I opened the bag, that is what I found Scratch. I think I will just go some place else from now on to get my supplies.

We pass by this place all the time. I assumed they just had supplies for livestock (horses, chickens, rabbits etc). It’s hard to see anything from the street and never thought much about it.
THEN, I started getting coupons in the mail in those coupon magazines. I saw that there was a coupon for dog food. $ 4 off for 28 lbs bag or $ 2 off for 4 – 7 lbs bag.
They don’t carry a large variety of dog products. I bought a 5 lb bag of Taste of the Wild dry dog food and 3 cans of wet food. The prices were great and I was pleased the first time we shopped here.
I also found some chicken tenders which said they were manufactured in Los Angeles, but once I brought it home and looked more closely, it said they were MADE in China. Then I checked a list of products made in China that supposedly were making dogs sick, and these were on the list. I had already given my dogs a few, but ended up throwing the entire bucket of treats in the trash. (There goes $ 18…)
My husband and I have been here a few times now and always see the same man and woman working here. They aren’t that friendly per se. No «Hello» or «Can I help you find something?» or even «Thank you». That’s the feeling I get anyway. not very welcomed. I’d rather be at PetSmart.
Overall, i don’t see myself coming here regularly.
UPDATE: my «go to» pet store is now Protein For Pets on Milliken/​Baseline. (Great products and excellent customer service)

I had a wonderful experience buying chicks and supplies here. The owner talked to me in depth about how to get started with my chickens for nearly an hour. I was made to feel welcome and was given all the info and supplies I needed. They then loaded my car for me, without even asking which car was mine! I love knowing that there are awesome small businesses here in my neighborhood and I think this one is really great.

They have pretty good prices. The older man (who is the owner) is extremely rude to his wife and the other employees. There is also a man in his 20’s with longer hair who can be rude to customers as well. Other than that, they usually have everything we need and it’s very convenient.

I have looked for a long time to find a feed store like this, it’s family owned and employ honest hard working people who care for their costumers! They have a passion for animals and there community. I highly recommend this place to all my friends and family. Thank you for your honest prices and costumer service.

I am an animal lover and while there are way worse things in life to bitch about — I am sensitive to this place that has too many «Savanna» cats they hoped to sell for a lot of money ~ $ 1000 minimum but there was some sort of business glitch and they’re stuck with the cats who live in cages there. I feel sorry for the cats. I want to associate Feed place with putting animals — not profit– first. I could be judging wrong but that’s how I feel.

Has been having issues with their hay supplier, almost every time I try and order I get sorry were out and can’t get in touch with my vendor.

Does not consistently carry same types of feed. Calls the day of delivery to inform you he doesn’t have it to deliver. Has had some really sketchy delivery guy who appears to be an addict that I wouldn’t trust in my backyard (older guy not younger one). Owner is inappropriate to customers and treats the woman working there (i believe his wife) awful. Though the location is convenient, it is not worth giving these people business.

Very friendly helpful staff. Reasonable prices. They also sale propane and firewood.

I just recently got two new puppies, and decided to learn to give the dogs puppy shots myself to save money. I did the research and found two feed stores close to us. One store was in fontana, 1 mile from my home, the other was this one, a few miles from my work. I called to get a price quote. The store in fontana quoted me over $ 12 dollars for the 5way puppy shot (their first shot) and they went up from there. CW quoted me $ 8. Huuuge difference, especially considering the one in Fontana was the more expensive? Makes no sense.
So I went to CW. There was a very kind and helpful young lady that explained everything to me, I ended up buying all of the puppy shots for two dogs at once and taking them home to refrigerate. I just went back today to purchase the deworming medication, and it was ¼ of the cost as compared to petsmart.
It’s unfortunate that sometimes businesses hire the wrong employees which cause them to get bad reviews. But each time i’ve gone in, two times around 415pm weekdays, and once at 2pm weekday… no issues, great service, and great employees :) Will be going here often.

We came here for diatemesas earth (I spelled it wrong lol) and even though this store is small I really liked it. It had a variety of items for fish, birds, cats, and reptiles. They sell chicks and organic eggs so if u want a chick get here cuz they’re super cheap. And they also had these specially bread wild cats that could reach the size of a dog. The cat I met was friendly cute and sweet he or she just followed me and my sis around for the longest n his cage. I liked that they had diffrent types of dog food and not just dry dog food. The man was very helpful and informative about the product we purchased and the product we purchased was a success. Nice service and I liked that they supported dog obedience classes. So if ur lookin for dog sitters, trainers u’ll find it all there. Or if u wanna purchase a pure bred u can find the info there. I will b back.

Great selection of feed and animal products. Can’t beat the prices either.
Loaded the bags into my car. Those big pet stores don’t do that.
