The Learning Years Academy

We did a lot of research before choosing our son’s first pre-​school. We made the perfect decision choosing TLYA. We love Ms. Helga. She runs a clean, organized, structured school, with meals often using organic ingredients, which is big for us. Our son started a month after he turned two. In a years time he’s flourished by leaps and bounds and often surprises us with all his knowledge! The curriculum encompasses Spanish and German and lots of tactile learning activities. We couldn’t be happier.

I don’t think that there’s another place in the area that deserves as much credit as Helga’s daycare. I am beyond impressed.
My son has been going here for only a few months, and he comes home every day with new things he learned. He also is so well behaved and she gets rid of behavioral issues right away. He knows his ABCs, his colors, and is getting better with counting. She teaches them Spanish and German.
They learn about countries and animals… They have a wonderful curriculum.
The kids are fully engaged in educational learning and activities every day– they never get bored. And let me tell you, they LOVE her food.
She provides a food schedule for what she’ll be making, and it is always healthy.
I can’t even get my son to stop talking about her food.
And don’t let the fact that the daycare is in a house fool you– she has it completely and perfectly organized. The backyard has any toy a kid could imagine, there is a ton of running space, and a little bike trail. The inside has the main room where they do their circle time, the kitchen, the cubby and sign in room, her office, the two-​year-​old classroom, and the bathroom. It is very spacious and organized– probably the best daycare set up I’ve seen to date.
At first, as a first time mom, I was nervous for any daycare/​nanny/​babysitter situation, but she is so wonderful with the kids. She really shows she cares for them and that she loves her job. She has so much patience, and she deals with everything so calmly and effectively.
I am beyond happy with the service she provides.

My son attended the Learning Years Academy for almost two years until he started Kindergarten. Ms. Helga is a wonderful person, caring and nurturing and a very family oriented person. As the prior cleaning lady to the school, I got to know Ms. Helga on a more personal level. I enjoyed our long discussions and can tell you first-​hand, Ms. Helga is the best in the area. She has a unique curriculum, and she is fluent in other languages, teaching the children various words in both Spanish and German. She teaches the children to be respectful, honors various holidays from a wide array of cultures, and not to mention the playground — don’t be fooled by the center being in a house! The house was fully converted into a daycare center and used solely for that. And the playground, which Ms. Helga intends to do upgrades to, is enormous, boasts a wide array of activities for the children; bicycles, a large octagonal sandbox, a gardening center, multiple play structures, and more. She feeds the children nutritious breakfasts, snacks and lunches. The schedules for the month are given to parents in advance for both activities and meals. She is highly organized. She has dealt with a variety of different personalities as well as some children with developmental disorders. She can handle anything.
I would recommend The Learning Years Academy over any daycare center, ever. We tried out 4 before going to Ms. Helga’s and never left once we stepped foot in her door.

Best preschool ever! My son went here until he was ready for kindergarten. The center is kept very clean and has great structure. The kids get to do fun projects and learn so much. The meal plan here is above a 5 star rating. I would never send my children anywhere else.
