Sad but true. I told them just be straight up and you got my business forever. It took 7 weeks to do a 2 hr job. They lied about when parts were ordered, where they were sent and when it was done. 200 rnds later no noticeable difference in performance. Galloway agreed to fix it and tune everything up for FREE. Now there’s an upstanding company.

Larry came into my store for info and mentioned he worked at survival instinct. I asked him if could put together my upper receiver and he said no problem. I had my friend bring it to him and even though I had bought the wrong parts (go figure, that’s why they are the professionals!)he still took the time to explain it to me in simple language what I needed and offered me a few solutions. Even though I had jumped the shark he still treated me with respect and the utmost professionalism while maintaining an attitude that he was just a normal guy doing what he loves. I would recommend survival instincts to anyone looking for quality survival gear or gun installation/​gun smithing. These guys rock!!!

This place is one of the best gun store I have been to. the service is perfect the owner answered all of my questions they make you feel like family and know I’m planing on purchasing my first gun and I can trust this place to give me the right gun for the safety of me my business and our citizens

After my range trip, I decided to drop by since I was in the area.
I first heard about this place from Larry, one of the workers who helped me out pick a shotgun when he worked at another gun store.
Unfortunately, I had a mediocre experience when I came by with that owner and Larry saw my sad review and referred me to his new store.
Fast forward to today, I came in to research what this place was about and met with one of the workers, Noël. He was able to greet me with the great customer service that Larry and his co workers are known for.
While I did not purchase anything today, I was able to see what products and services Survival Instinct had to offer.
I was happy they had some firearms I am interested in. While I do not want to buy a new firearm at the moment (since I just built a computer), they had a Ruger ¹⁰⁄₂₂ takedown that I was interested in for a future tax refund gift. What really made me happy was that Noël further educated me on the rifle’s features along with the rifle’s history reassuring a lot of product knowledge.
I then went down my wishlist and he was able to inquire me about future guns I am also planning to get for a future carry option. What is also cool is that Larry (from what I was told) is a certified Glock team member. So you can also purchase Glock aftermarket parts (i.e. trigger, sights, etc…) and Larry can do it for you. I will keep this in mind for my G19 and future G26.
Lastly if you are interested in one, Survival Instinct also offers to research and build you an AR-​15 provided that you buy the parts from them. I am not too familiar with AR builds but I was told that you can give them a budget and what you are looking for in your sporting rifle.
Overall, this place is great as I can see they really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome to their store. Usually when I go to most other gun stores, I am usually talked down upon and maybe seen as just a walking wallet to them.
Here, I was invited to hang out at their comfortable couch with their awesome German Shepherds, their mini fridge with drinks, work bench in reach, and big screen TV. Now try to top that other gun stores!
My only criticism is that the store seems a little dark and bland. Maybe have some more attractive lighting rather than the dull florescent lighting, better displays, more color, and less clutter and this place would be perfect.
Anyways, I would consider coming back here for my future gun purchases and would highly recommend this store. They’re also a mom and pop shop so they get my vote for supporting smaller businesses. Again, thanks Noël for making me feel welcome to the store and I look forward to seeing all you guys again!

Excellent customer service!!! Both Larry and Lucas were absolutely amazing to work with. Completely knowledgable and beyond helpful. From the very first phone call to the end purchase I was treated with the utmost respect and given a lot of helpful information. Not to mention the best price around. Thank you survival instinct, Lary and Lucas! I will definitely be back.

Love Love Love Survival instinct. Excellent first time experience with Larry and the rest of the gang including the German Shepherd…(I have to admit I’m biased I own 2 GSD’s). I love that this business is operated by people who have served in the military (Thank You for your service).as an AF Brat, I feel right at home there. I went in just to check them out (they are right next door to the veterinarian I use) I’m glad I did. I didn’t need range rounds, but bought some anyway. Sportsman Warehouse lost my business long ago due to lack of knowledge and poor service. As for me, I’ll stick to the small stores… Knowledge and respect, and customer interaction are my top priorities, I give them an A on each… I think I finally found a place where I’m not going to feel uncomfortable for asking a question. I will gladly support our vets and small business and hope their fledgling business takes off :) Please give them a chance, let’s help them grow their business

These guys are great! I knew I wanted to build some home defense but I walked in knowing very little. I’m also the kind of guy that likes to stand around and look at stuff and then just talk and talk some more. These guys will talk and talk some more and you’ll learn something too. They know what they’re talking about. They have good products and are friendly people. They take care of the customers as if they were here they were their friends. I walked out thinking I know what I want now, I know why which is more important and I’m excited for my future purchases. I will not be going anywhere else.

I received an message from Stephan via Unilocal to let me know about this new gun store.
After perusing their website we found a firearm we were interested in. After calling and talking to Larry we were assured the pistol was legal and placed the order online. Well despite our concerns of the firearm not being listed on the approved roster Stephan was able to clear the gun through DOJ and we got it! Kudo’s to Stephan for great follow through.
The store itself is pretty big, but not really well stocked. The firearms were well organized and presented but the accessories organization and presentation definitely could use a make over.
As far as the German Shepard, yes he charges the customers but he is only coming to say hello and see who you are. The dog is quite friendly and he even brought me toys to play tug of war with him. I would have to say that based on my experience with the dog the other reviewer probably overreacted when he was approached by the dog.
Overall this is a nice new shop, it needs some better displays, more stock and better communication between Stephan and Larry but its still solid.

I went to this place last week to see it for the first time. The store is new and a little short on inventory BUT thats to be expected since it just recently opened. They have a growing inventory of firearms and accessories. I’m really excited to have this place so close to my home. Another Unilocal user said he was «charged» by the german shepherd thats in there… all I can say is MAN UP. He was completely harmless and very friendly. He just came up and said hello and then went back to the owner without being asked. Im not sure how that makes the owner a «douchebag». «brandon g», you sir are the douchebag. If that dog scared you so much, I wonder how exactly you made it in the military… I guess being a cook can be a little stressful. Anyways, the shop is a work in progress and going in the right direction. I met the owner and he a very professional and down to earth guy. I thank him for his service to our country. I will be coming here for my next firearm purchase. highly recommend this place to anyone. don’t let silly fools on here discredit this good business.

IF I COULD GIVE A NEGATIVE 5 STARS
Very disappointed in this place. As a veteran, I have seen this place many times on the way to the VA and wanted to stop. The day I choose to go in with my wife and service dog we were aggressively charged while trying to come in the door by a German Shepard that in my opinion we poorly trained and should never be in a retail store until it’s douche bag owner can handle his own dog. On top of that after I slammed the door into the dogs face my wife and I stood there while one employee stood laughing. No one ever came to the door and apologized, led the dog away or any such thing. I will also be reporting them to the proper people to let them know that this place is not handicap compliant. I spend about a1000.00 a month in prep materials. I will never shop here again.

Went into this store not knowing what to expect. The guys behind the counter are very nice and very helpful. They have helped me out now 3 times. Keep up the great work.

I stopped into this shop just to look around when visiting California. The staff was amazing and very friendly. After chatting with them for a while I went on my way. When I returned to Texas my local go to shop didn’t have the rifle I wanted. I called up SI, and they took care of me with much ease. The rifle was packaged very good and was shipped to me within a matter of days. Also their prices were much better than my local shop even after transfer fees. I will be returning as a transfer customer.
