Staff here is very helpful and always willing to help. Very clean store. Love how you can hit the bank and Starbucks all in one spot!

I used to be a regular but lately things have gone hill. FAST! Today I went in and noticed one of the staff texting on his phone and stocking a shelf. I asked for help but I was ignored because he had headphones in. I called in and talked to a supposed manager later when I got home since no one was available when I was at the store and told them the situation and the employees name (Lorenzo) and they didn’t care. I was shocked! I’ll start shopping at Bell Air now. Thanks for the lack of customer service.

Every time I shop at this store I have a negative overall shopping experience. Customer service is horrible or should I say lacking completely. No greeting, no genuine engagement, no asking what bags I’d like, or if I found everything ok. I had to say hello to the cashier first! None of the employees are smiling or seem to want to be there. Also, the prices are not that great either. They were more expensive or the same as Bel Air and Raley’s on most products! I will definitely drive a little further to be treated with respect and have a better shopping experience! So upsetting!

Fast service, especially at registers

Regular Safeway store, nothing super special. For some reason I never seem to have good experiences at this chain.
I typically go in the evening and the place appears to be run by a bunch of teenagers talking about getting wasted and how they cant wait to get off work. I’ve noticed I RARELY come here anymore. I happily drive the extra 10 minutes to Savemart on Kiefer Road.

I’m in here at least once a week with my boyfriend. The store overall is clean, and most of the employees I’ve come across are friendly — some of the younger, high school-​aged staff seem to care more about socializing amongst themselves than greeting/​assisting customers. The deli department is awfully understaffed, there’s usually only 2 – 3 people running back and forth between the different counters. Always well stocked, and the prices are generally alright too.
It’s the parking lot of this store that makes me leave it a 3-​star rating. I don’t always feel safe going here, even in broad daylight. Homeless people and drug addicts frequent the area, begging for money and food. And they’re persistent too — they’re not exactly rude, but they don’t take «no» for an answer easily either. Management needs to do something to get these people out to here, like hire lot security or something.

The store is just ok, Usually the checkout lines are long with 1 or 2 checkout stand being manned. Since Rayle’s closed down it appears that Safeway doesn’t try to hard in the service area. I still go their always hoping for something a little better.

I’m not sure if it’s due to bad scheduling or cutbacks but it’s turning into a Walmart. Last few times I’ve been in, there have only been 2 check out stands open. The express checkout lanes never seems to be open. Which wouldn’t normally be a problem unless buying alcohol which you can’t do at the self checkout.

Five star review for the gas station! So convenient and by cashing in my 60 cents off the gallon, I paid less than half price for a full tank! Nice!

I came here to dodge Walmart and go grocery shopping. OMG, there were hardly any shoppers in the store. It was so nice and clean. I was also welcomed by the associates. The other customers were even super nice. I got what I needed and proceeded with self check-​out, which was ridiculously fast and easy. I would like to suggest having more cashier stations open when lines start to get long. Other than that, very nice place to shop.

Some changes need to be put in place here. The employees seem to be really nice people and willing to help if needed. But I have now come across a second item just laden with mold. We shopped on ⁹⁄₁ when the bread was purchased but I didn’t notice it till the next day ⁹⁄₂. I returned to the store and a gentleman named Christopher assisted me. He was very apologetic very customer service oriented and friendly. He refunded the amount for the bread and then gave me a replacement on the house. Thank you for going above and beyond but if anyone in management reads these please implement some changes or at the very least insure that your procedures and FIFO rules are being followed. That’s just pure complacent laziness on the part of some. And if you need help, I’m a change management professional :)

My very first job at 17 was at the Safeway down the street from this one. Having moved into the area recently, I find myself at this Safeway a lot. The perks of having previously worked for Safeway is being familiar with the products, brands, and quality of meat and produce they carry. Safeway has their very own brand of natural and organic items. «O» and «open nature.» I always make sure those are my go to brands when shopping because I know they don’t contain hormones, GMO’s, and pesticides.
Their produce seems to be just ok to me. My buddy is actually their produce manager here Lol. Shoutout to the homie, Chad Buggs for trying to pick that fresh produce ! I always tell him that they need more organic fruit and he complains that organic makes no difference but I think it does !
Only downside to this store is that it can get a bit sketchy during certain hours. Other than that, this Safeway is not bad :)

When we lived in Rancho we went here frequently. Its a clean store and they have most everything you want. My biggest complaint is the prices, Safeways is EXPENSIVE unless you only buy what is on sale which isnt always possible. Also a lot of the meat they advertise in the sale ad they dont even have in the store. The customer service is also lacking, theres never anyone to help you and only a few of the cashiers are friendly.

To be fair my two star rating has nothing to do with this store, in fact it has a nice seafood, wine & produce sections. We live 5 blocks away and used to shop here all the time and were happy to see the addition of the gas station.
We now drive to other stores, Bel Air or the International market just to avoid the panhandlers. Last time there I was hit up at the gas station and going in & out of the Safeway One flipped me off when I said no. Most of the time its getting into or out of my car. I know there are rehab/​halfway homes nearby and wish them well… I just don’t want to be approached or have my wife and daughters deal with this type of behavior. Its not uncommon to see groups of panhandlers on the fringe of their property drinking from brown bags

This is a good store to go to for fresh produce. I love going in and taking a look at what they have in their bakery. The food tastes good and the deli has a good selection as well. The store is clean and organized and the people there are pretty nice.

This review is for the Safeway Gas Station on Folsom Blvd, not for the actual supermarket. This is one of the newest gas stations in Sacramento and has some of the cheapest prices around. The station is clean and modern, and lacks the crazy busyness of Costco or ARCO. You get a discount for using Debit and can use your Safeway rewards. They also have a small convenience store with bottled drinks and snacks.
All gas in California must meet stringent performance standard with no real difference between brands, but the price and cleanliness of the storage tanks do matter. I use this station often, and my car and wallet both love it!

I’m not impressed with this Safeway at all. I rarely come here or even think to come here. Items are very overpriced and shelves aren’t stocked well. Also the overall atmosphere here is just doom and gloom. I feel very depressed shopping at this Safeway and icky after I leave the store. It also probably doesn’t help that it’s located next to the Walmart. I know some reviewers love the location, but I don’t. Actually I feel that there’s a lot of undesirable loiterers around.

Since this Safeway is close to work, I stop in here on occasion to avoid the afternoon parking hell of the midtown Safeways. It’s your typical Safeway with a couple of exceptions: 1) There are rarely any long lines and when there’s more than a couple people, they open another register, which is a big plus for those of us who can’t cruise through self-​check due to *ahem* booze, and 2) They are so dang nice! I have noticed the prices at all the Safeways have risen quite a bit over the last few years, but with the Club Card, you can still get some pretty good deals. They also have a really good selection of products and brands, and the store brand is typically just as good as a name brand. The store always seems very clean and there’s plenty of parking.

As far as Safeway stores go this one is pretty good.
Pro’s:
–Safeway gas station and a Bank of America in the same parking lot.
–Cashiers are friendly, speedy and go the extra mile
–Produce section is generally well stocked and has an avg amount of organic.
–Bakery is stocked with all kinds of different bread and cakes, etc.
–Hot chinese food is pretty good, chicken with mushrooms and lemon chicken and smells unbelievable every time I walk by it near the deli when it’s out. $ 10 Shanghai special that they pack up for you I believe comes with 2 items and fried rice.
–Meat and Seafood section usually has a person back there to help so you don’t have to ring a buzzer and wait around a lot. They have a good selection of grass fed steaks and lamb. Their grass fed ground beef is on sale frequently for $ 4.99 lb which they wrap up for you, and their grass fed nitrate free super thick cut Applewood smoked bacon or Applewood smoked pepper bacon for $ 5.99 lb is the best bacon I have ever had! Not kidding. Whole Dungeness crabs were recently on sale for $ 3.99 lb and they even clean the crabs for you free of charge. Thick cut Rib eye steaks occasionally on sale for $ 7.99 lb.
Con’s:
–Produce section could use more organic items and more produce bags to put them in.
–Got a couple lobster tails from the seafood section, not fresh. Tossed.
–Prices can be a bit steep for regular items that would be cheaper at Walmart.
–Parking lot near an always busy Walmart that I try to avoid unless i’m grabbing a lot.
–Not a 24 hr Safeway store.

I am so impressed with Safeway’s signature café items!
I randomly decided to try their autumn harvest butternut squash soup and was WOWED! For some reason, it reminded me of tikka marsala sauce
I am sooooooo going back and buying 10 of them and freezing it for the winter :)
