We Love Meme’s! I would give it a 5 star, except they are so far from where I live :(
The Park family are very helpful, informative. They have a great array of BBQ products and a wonderful nursery. We have bought several Japanese Maples and is the only place I buy my chunk coal for BBQ. I really enjoy this place and will be going today :)
As a matter of fact, since my daughter is driving, I’ll give them the 5 stars (started at 4)!

This place is great. I only really visit the smoker end of things so I can’t testify of the nursery part except to say it looks good. Meme carries several types of Smokers and BBQs. They mainly have pellet smokers but also have traditional smokers and one huge Propane BBQ. The he carries Traeger and Green Mountain brands. He also carries Memphis and Mak Grills (which look amazing and I’m going buy one sometime). He also carries a couple of other brands which are escaping my memory.

The main sales guy is great and loves to talk smokers and is extremely knowledgeable and honest. I actually enjoy going in there just to talk smoking him while buying pellets.
Meme also carries pellets Traeger, Green Mountain, and a house brand which is better and cheaper than the name brand so buy meme pellets in the white bags.

I can’t speak to garden area but if it’s anywhere near as cool as the BBQ /​Smoking and Grilling area it’s spot on!
What I can attest to is selection of wood pellets for smoking. Simply unmatched in the area. Great knowledge solid friendly customer service and very fair pricing. I don’t even bother to go anywhere else to buy wood for my smoker.
I own 4 smokers now but didn’t find this spot until after my last purchase. I am 100% going to give this place all due consideration for my next purchase.

Excellent selection of grilling accessories! The Park family are a great group of folks that treat all customers with respect, are very helpful in explaining the different nursery or grilling options available and all the time with a smile on their faces – small town service in a big city setting.
Jimmy Park is a master griller and will make sure you get the right for you smoker or pellet grill from the available options (they stock 4 different companies!) and pellets and accessories for your desired cooking style all at a very affordable price unlike the limited (usually only carry one style of grill from one company) overpriced options at big box stores.
It is a pleasure to be able to support small family yet extremely well stocked businesses.

Love going here just to browse. They very beauty garden décor. I bought a few items from this place and added a nice accent to my garden. People always ask me where did I find did my pieces and say from here. Very happy with the products I’ve received.

Visting family and was looking for a bbq for my dad, accessories, pellets,… WOW!
By far the best selection of pellets and pellet grills (4 different companies!!) than any other place I have been too and I have been to many to find the perfect grill. If your’re looking for a grill, pellets, accessories,…you have to come here. I already did all the research for you and Meme Marketplace is by far most knowledagble and customer service oriented anywhere in Sac or in LA where I reside. And knowledge is worth way more than saving a few bucks because I knew exaclty what I was getting. I ended up getting the Memphis Pro for dad and pellets and he loves it! Dad knows his grills and he said I got the best deal because you have to ask questions when buying a grill and the right pellets for that perfect brisket… by the way you can bake cookies too! lol
Talk to Jimmy he knows his product not like those retail employeess since he is a expert pro in grilling. Thanks Jimmy for all your customer service and help, I would not of gotten this online or any of those big box stores… don’t buy at Costco get it from the pros here!

I came here on a recommendation from a friend as a place to acquire reasonably priced fruit trees.
Meme is a non-​descript homegoods/​nursery off of Hazel Avenue. Prices at this locally owned and operated nursery are slightly higher than a big box (HD or Lowes) but with much better selection.
The owner grows his own fruit trees (at his house) and at the nursery. He knows some details about certain trees and varieties. Quite a nice selection but not as expansive as Green Acres or Capitol Nursery — more importantly, not as expEnsive, either.
I saw lemons, oranges, mandarins, limes, kumquats, blueberries, Asian pears, apples, peaches, guava, and other fruit trees. With each type of fruit tree, he carries perhaps 3 – 4 varieties. Some of them were growing better than others.
I ended up picking a couple of blueberry bushes which looked pretty good (there were other varieties that did not look so good). They were $ 18 for a 3 gallon container which I had just compared with HD at $ 17 a container.
I think there are some deals here, particularly if you want to pick up an espaliered fruit tree. He had a Fuji apple tree that was espaliered for $ 30 (5 gallon container) which at Fair Oaks nursery would easily run $ 60.
No guarantees like the other stores (typically 1 year guarantee) — so once you buy, you are on your own. Great service as he spent a lot of time showing me different varietes, etc.
Cool place and I am happy to support local buisiness. I am taking off 1 star only because some of the fruit trees did not look like they were doing very well. They looked bad enough that I was pretty selective in my purchase of «healthy» plants.

I have always driven by this place & it has always caught my eye. Just off the 50 freeway & not to difficult to find. This gem of a nursery is the best in the Sacramento area. This is a small family run business, which is what I prefer. If you are in the market for a Japanese maple or other fruit trees, please go see Dan. He is so much more knowledgeable than anyone at Home Depot or Lowe’s would ever be. Plus they have more varieties of Japanese Maples than the actual Kyoto Japanese Garden. I am not kidding! Check Meme Marketplace out, you won’t be disappointed.

I feel like i did when i walked into costco for the first time. I could spend a lot of time in there just looking at everything. Everything is gorgeous! I’ve been looking into getting a grill and I think I’m going to get it here. They were helping me select exactly what I wanted.

I live close by and I get all my BBQ equipment here. Last year I was redoing my backyard and I don’t think I could have done it without Jimmy’s help.

Went here again for their turkey smoking clinic. It was AWESOME. They have all these smoking machines and pellets and stuff and Jimmy teaches you how to do it. I love these local events where you learn stuff and have fun. I always wanted to learn how to do a good BBQ but never really had anyone teach me before. It was a nice learning experience as well as a good day out.
Anyway. I heart food. And good food I had.
Definitely going to the next clinic they have.

We bought 2 persimmon trees here last spring but less than a year, one died and the other is struggling, half dead. So we called and talk to the lady owner if we could get a replacement for the dead. She said no. So we asked why not, she gave an excuse that they are a small business and thus no replacement. She also said that if we wanted replacement for dead plants or trees, we should have gone to shop at the Home Depot. No customer service here! She was not customer friendly at all. Once she gets your cash, you are all on your own. Shoppers, be aware.

By chance we saw their sign for Japanese Maples on sale and dropped by and glad we did. Nice, friendly folks with quality stuff and reasonable prices. We’ll be back here to shop for sure.

This is a really nice place the gf and I just discovered this weekend. Some nice pottery at prices that seem more than reasonable, and some very nice specimens of Japanese maples and dwarf fruit trees. You can tell by looking at the plants that the people working there actually care about keeping them in good shape. I’ll definitely go back before too long.
