I have had the best experience living here the office staff is amazing and very organized I would recommend all my friends to live here.

It’s more of a three and a half star review, but I gave em 4. The apartment is nice looking and spacious. I rent a one bedroom; however there is little to no storage at all. I don’t have enough room to put my dishes and food in the cabinets. I had to buy a pantry. They recently renovated, so the insulation from the new windows is good, apartment stays generally cool with little effort.
They do have a plethora of plumbing issues, my sink sprays water in the ground, my toilet doesn’t flush all the way, and my washer and dryer were leaking and broke when I moved in. Upon notifying chesapeake Commons I received a new one quickly so that was nice; however, they left my electricity off and spoiled all of the food in my fridge, they cut me a check for it, so they made it right. When I first moved in they needed to do repairs on the water heater to bring it up to code, not sure why this wasn’t done before I moved in. Also for this work we reviebed two 24 notices with a two week window each, they never showed for these even though I waited 3 weeks every day total for them to come, they eventually did the work. So I’m kinda torn on maintenence, they get it done, just a lot of work.
Before I moved in I was promised a covered stall for my brand new car, upon signing the lease I was presented with an uncovered spot across the complex from my apartment, and was told I have street parking as a consolation. After badgering the office I finally received a covered spot after my neighbors moved. All in all it is a nice place in a quiet area, not too much crime. Right next to the freeway, fireplace and washer and dryer, as well as lots of food 2 minutes away. If you’re trying to decide I’d move in, but if you’re a perfectionist, I’d stray away.

I’ve been a resident here since 1÷1÷16. I know it’s only been 5 months, but I have no complaints about this property. The grounds are kept up, the 1 bedroom I’m renting is clean and surrounded by neighbors who are quiet and keep to themselves. Everyone I’ve come across has been friendly and my maintenance requests have been minimal and have been handled typically same day. I like to think of it as a diamond in the rough. The surrounding areas are sketchy, but this apartment complex seems to be untouched and I hope it remains that way. I would highly recommend renting here.

AGAIN: If zero stars were an option right now I would jump for joy!
Watch out paying rent through the resident portal. Consider yourself lucky if you haven’t experienced fraudulent charges cause guess what… the front office management will offer no support or empathy. Why should they care right?! It’s not their money. Oh! To top it all off they have NO shame charging you fees accrued by these fraudulent charges. Woohoo!

I’ve lived here for 5 years.
Money, charges:
— Without exception, my rent goes up every time I sign a new lease. When I moved here, my rent was $ 750 a month. Today, I pay $ 900 (1 bed 1 bath, two residents, two pets).
— Insulation is bad, you will run your AC/​heater a lot (my average energy bill is well above $ 100 per month, and as high as $ 275 during the summer). I keep the temperatures at 85 °F in the summer, 65 °F in the winter ²⁴⁄₇ unless on vacation.
— Office staff is nice, but not everybody is familiar with their 17 page lease. I have been given outright incorrect information twice, and have literally had to pay for one of those mistakes. Unless it’s in writing, you will take financial responsibility for whatever information they give you. Don’t make the same mistake I did; understand the lease before you sign it.
— To people within a certain income bracket, Chesapeake offers a deal that waives the cost of water, garbage, and sewage. If you do not qualify for this deal, you must cover the service fees for those who don’t pay. Cost for these services is split evenly among paying residents.
— Although all units come with a washer and dryer, the cost of these amenities are not included in the advertised rent price. They account for an extra 75ish dollars a month. Edit: I’ve been told by a reliable office staff member that the advertised price has been changed to include the cost of these amenities.
Services, Amenities, Neighbors:
— Their sprinklers flood the parking lots. It’s a depressing amount of waste, both in terms of the drought and in terms of our collective wallet.
— for the last 5 months or so, My water has been off at least one day every two weeks. Often, every week. More than a few times, there have been emergency shut offs with little to no warning.
— Maintenance is decent. The four non-​emergent work orders I’ve submitted over the years have each been dealt with within one to three days. The two times I’ve called the emergency line, my call has been forgotten.
— Greenery is consistently well kept.
— Lots of animal crap and trash everywhere, many inconsiderate residents.
— The craftsmanship and materials in these apartments is as cheap as money can buy. Carpets, appliances, cabinetry, counters, you name it.
— You will hear your neighbors. You will hear them cough, you will hear them have sex, you will hear them watch TV, you will hear them have shouting matches in the parking lot. You will hear them, and they will hear you.
— Comes with a walk in closet, washer, dryer, and fireplace. Super convenient to have.
— You will pay for a covered parking spot, regardless of whether you use it. Often, it will not be located near your apartment. When my neighbor moved out, they charged her the remainder of her lease on her parking spot (a month and a half) while simultaneously renting it out to someone else. Edit: They’ve changed this! You can now opt out of paying for covered parking.
— Lighting provided in the kitchen, bathroom, and dining space. No lighting in the main room or bedroom.
— We have at least one paladin security guard. My car was stolen out of a parking spot right next to where the guy sits at night. My neighbor told me her car has been rock bombed twice — her parking spot is 50 ft from where the guy sits at night. He appears to guard the office, and not much else.
— They recently painted the exteriors and replaced windows + sliding glass doors in many of the units. Low quality materials and craftsmanship, but they look much better than they did before.
— Decks are not level and have large gaps in the slatting — if you live on the bottom level, you probably will not want to use your porch. If you live below a smoker, you definitely will not want to use your porch.
Overall, this place is decent. The new management is definitely improving the property.

I have been here for 4 months and have no complaints. In fact the office staff look out for me in many ways. They are kind and professional. I don’t know any of my neighbors but have had no problems. I enjoy living here and would recommend this complex to anyone.

Sylvia is the worst apartment manager I’ve ever worked with. She was very unprofessional and talked down to both me and my husband several times. She plays favorites with her tenants and will play dirty if you aren’t on her good side.
Maintenance «fixes» things like shit and have had to come back and fix things 2 or more times.
I had a RAT in my apartment and they came and put sticky paper down. Great, so I got to dispose of the rat myself.
DO NOT park in a covered parking spot unless it is YOURS and YOU PAY FOR IT. Because someone WILL tow it and it will cost you $ 300 to get your car back.
The apartments are TINY and very run down and they still charge a small fortune. No pantry, no hall closet, no storage.
The oven in my unit looks like it’s from the 50’s, not to mention none of the appliances match.
You are also better off NOT joining the bond program because chances are the incompetent people in the office will do something wrong and you will end up getting kicked off the program and your rent will increase by $ 200+.
My neighbor is a drug dealer and there is A LOT of drug traffic.

Chesapeake has it moments. But not all bad. I’ve lived here with my husband for a year and a half now… And although there have been bumps not all bad… My work request have always been done in a timely fashion… Reason the new windows they had installed started leaking and causing damages, but we kept in contact with the office and even though the vendors for the windows were rude the maintenance works were great… The only problem I’ve had was with the water being shut off so much but the do send a text before hand… I enjoy living here but all apartment have problems. So hey roll with the punches…

This is a decent place, however couldn’t move in advance my new full time job is delayed.
Chesapeake will not allow my $ 100 holding deposit to be placed on another unit in same complex. I even asked, if the original unit is still available, can I use deposit towards that. Answer is no.
That’s ridiculous and I worn everyone to be sure before placing a large deposit, they could help me out but, blame it on «fair housing «. I don’t see how this is fair for the consumer. It’s bullshit!!!
Lastly, another property of theirs is available but one has to. again. pay $ 40 to apply. The corporate can view the application from 2 weeks and use the same: you’d think. Outlandish!

This is not the place you want stay.
I have 2 outstanding maintenance requests that I have yet to hear back from anyone at the leasing office or maintenance.
One of those requests disappeared from my list of maintenance requests in the resident portal on-​line. No one contacted me, and the request did not get completed.
I have since submitted yet another maintenance request (ID: 4 034 159)
While I was on vacation at the end of October 2015 I was notified that workers were going to replace the windows to my apartment. They replaced the windows but did not install a threshold in front of the sliding glass door, nor did they replace the trim around the door. Additionally; one of the windows they installed has the window lock stuck in the closed position and will not open.
This has not been addressed in 2 months.
On 12÷28÷15 I created a maintenance request (ID: 4 034 153) because every time my upstairs neighbor starts a fire, my apartment fills with smoke.
No one contacted me, I had to call the emergency maintenance line. I was told by the maintenance supervisor that he would contact the chimney maintenance company (Chim Chimney) first thing Monday ¼. No one was contacted. I reached out to the leasing office and they said someone would contact me. In the afternoon that day I was contacted by Yolanda from the leasing office. She said that the chimney company would be at my apartment on ¹⁄₅ between noon and 4PM. She also said that they would need access to my apartment.
I took a half day off of work to be available. No one arrived. I contacted the leasing office, they had no information for me. The maintenance supervisor said that he would find out what happened. He did not call me back that day.
The next day I called the maintenance supervisor to get the name of the company that was supposed to send someone out. He gave me the name of the company (Chim Chimney) and I reached out to them. They stated that they already sent someone out. That they were clear with the leasing office that all the work would be done on the roof and there was no reason to enter the apartment.
Basically; I missed half a day of pay for nothing because I was instructed by Yolanda that I needed to be available for the chimney company.
This problem still has not been fixed. My upstairs neighbor reached out to the company and they stated that they were still waiting to hear back from the leasing office regarding a quote for service.
On January 2^nd I received the following text message:
Hi Jason, this is Chesapeake Commons. Your balance is $Amount Removed. To avoid a late fee, pay now at Link Removed. If paid, disregard.
I used the link to log on and pay the rent.
On 1÷3÷16 Your company attempted to withdraw that amount from my bank. The transfer was refused and you charged me $ 25.00.
I contacted Sylvia Gamboa to dispute this charge and to log a complaint against Yolanda for instructing me that I would need to be available for the chimney company. I was told by Sylvia that Yolanda wouldn’t do that, and the complaint was dismissed by her. I requested to speak to someone higher than her due to the repeated problems I’ve had with the leasing office under her management. She gave me the number for «Dave» (I was never given a last name) I called the number and Dave also dismissed my complaint against Yolanda, he did however waive the $ 25.00 fee while stating that the, «…text message thing happened at another property…»
I moved into this place even though the stove was ancient and prone to breaking, and the cabinets are old and crumbling and the dishwasher wasn’t originally anchored to the cabinets and the counter tops are a horrible stained white.
Even when I found a discarded chicken bone under the «New carpet» that was installed prior to me moving in I still thought well of this place.
In the past year this place has become awful.
The dog park is constantly full of trash and eroded grass. The pool that was resurfaced was closed all summer by the health department because a missing emergency shut off switch for the hot tub. Even now it is frequently closed with no notification why.
There seems to be more garbage than ever in the parking lot and there have been 2 Gatorade bottles on top of the car park for 3 months now.
I have repeatedly had troubles with communication and service from the leasing office and there doesn’t seem to be any move to correct, or make things better from Wasatch.
I reached out to the customer service line today, but no one answered. I left a voicemail and am still waiting to be contacted.

Worst Apartment Ever! Money Digger for sure!
I have lived here for 2 years and not quite sure how I lasted that long. Perhaps no choice!
First of all if you are planning on moving out you need to turn in a 60 day notice really??? 60 days?! Otherwise you will get charged.
Once you moved out make sure to hire a professional cleaner. they charge everything to you from the bathroom to the microwave down to the sink… You even have to pay for the worker’s labor! Which in my case I ended up paying $ 400 just for the cleaning alone!
I thought i would get some money back from my security deposit of $ 300. Because our unit was well maintained, cleaned everything but still ended up owing them $ 370!!! Really $ 770 ??? For moving out! They only gave me 10 days to pay or else it will go to collection!
Im just so glad I was able to get out of this apartment. the other reviews were right they make their community look good from the outside by painting and changing windows but really,… The unit itself sucks! Old cabinets and broken drawers… SMH

After having lived at Chesapeake Commons for 15 months I must say this is a fine place to live. There are pros as well as cons. The quality of the apt itself is what you pay for. The units have awful carpet, mine has fallen into a state of disrepair in just 15 months. Otherwise this is a fine place to live.

Money diggers. That’s what they are. They want your money in any form they can get it. Don’t let the «remodeled» look fool you. They slap some paint on the outside and advertise it as «newly remodeled.»
I had an issue with signing up for their Bond program with pays for water, sewer, and trash. First off let me tell u; this bill ranges from $ 70 — $ 100. This is an outrageous price. Well, we signed a contract to move in and Lori informed us to move in, settle in, then we would be able to sign up for that program and it would be applied effective our move in date. This is exactly what she told me. Our move in date was December 10^th, and we came in to sign the papers on December 24^th. All was good. We were getting out of a $ 100 bill. Come mid-​January, we receive a bill for water, sewer, trash of about $ 75. My husband and I came into the office and asked them why we received this bill since Lori had stated it would be covered. She pulled out our paperwork and informed us that we had come in and signed out paperwork on Jan. 6^th. I was shocked when I saw the paperwork. She had dated everything on there Jan 6^th. I so wish I had asked for a copy of the paperwork on the day that we came in to sign it all. We ended up speaking with Sylvia, the manager there (who btw was very sweet). But she too informed us there is nothing she can do, we already have to pay for this bill since it is an outside company and that we will no longer receive any more of these bills. Come February, we receive one for January; which they ended up clearing because they had told us we would not receive anymore. So… why couldn’t they clear December’s? Odd.
Anyway, my list can go on and on! Moving out, we left the place spotless! And still were charged a fee. I am telling you they straight up want your money. Living on a lease our bill was $ 785 a month. With no lease it automatically jumps to $ 985! I would not recommend for anyone to want to live here. Oh, and expect to hear those helicopters flying out there day and night. And don’t let me forget to tell you about about the gunshots in the middle of the night. Or the neighbors SCREAMING at each other for about and hour at 2am! And not just once. Jeez. What’s the paladin guy there for? To sleep in his car? We are living in a much better place now; which I wish we had moved into from the start. Chesapeake is charging way too much for the neighborhood that they are located in.

THEY LEAVE YOUR APT WIDE OPEN WHEN THEY LEAVE, AND THEY COME IN WITHOUT PROPER NOTICE. In October they had contractors come in to install new patio door, when the workers left they left, besides making a big mess, they left the patio door wide open. I came home at 6:30 pm to find my apt not secure.
In November I got a 24 notice on the 6^th saying they were having someone come in on the 9^th to put some insulation in the attic. They never came and I know that because when they painted before I moved in 7 years ago, the attic access was painted shut. So on November 17^th I came home to see that someone had been in my apt without giving another 24 hour notice. I first noticed a lamp had been unplugged, then I noticed debris on my bathroom rug. When I picked it up it looked like insulation. I went to the attic access in my room and saw it had been opened as I could see the paint had cracked, I also notice more insulation on the floor and on my bed. Entering my apt without proper notice is a violation of the lease. I left msg both times but no one even called me back. If we have to follow the rules in the lease, so should they. From what I have read this is a violation of civil code 1927.

My daughter and I have lived at CC for 4 months and have been pleased. Maintenance concerns have always been taken care of right away and office staff is pleasant. We’re apt living after being in a house for 24 years, so still adjusting to hearing neighbors which have a much different schedule than us, but that’s to be expected.

These are the pathetic apartments that I have come across, within couple of weeks of move in we had to deal with bed bug on the carpets, rats and cockroach in kitchen and when complained there was no response… completely irresponsible and ignorant management… they are not bothered at all… as u read on other reviews the maintenance is worst over here.
They have frequent water supply cuts, sometimes it is done without prior intimation.
The utilities bill for two people will be around 80 $ per month and there is no reason for this high amount, there are no water meters which will regulate individual consumption of water. The utility service is handled by ConService which again is the worst service.
I was said there is car wash provided when I had leased the apartments but the taps are closed without any notice.
They waste water by watering lawns twice in one night additionally for no reason there is fountain in front of leasing office.
Gym stings, and sometimes equipment’s are not functioning
In the tennis court you can see dog shit and also not properly maintained, the lights are not working.
There are out side people jumping in the pools and in the premises you can see dog and cats shit laying here and there.
For three days electricity they charged me 32 $ since 25 $ was the fees from their side.
The maintenance work keeps on going disturbing you whole day with the noise due to which I have headache and they will enter your premises without prior notice and leave it dirty after maintenance, I had a big task cleaning that after coming from work.
Also the management is rude to talk and not aware of what is going around, if you ask any thing they don’t have answer or solution.
Now a days there is maintenance work going around which will disturb you a lot and I don’t understand why are the changing the window Paine as the apartment inside is not good and old and chipped up kitchen units and dowers. Don’t go on the pictures online and the model apartments.
After this post I guess there would be an automated reply from Some a man named max W which will say we are important to them which I can’t see any where because of the treatment these people give, if they are really bothered please improve your service for which I pay so much money, I don’t require any automated apology mail, I am not the single person complaining.

I was pretty impressed by these apartments over all. The maintenance crew if very prompt and the front desk is always helpful. You can pay your rent online. There is a few extra essential add-​ons to the rent which was a little irritating to find out such as: an extra fee for a parking space and washer/​dryer. The model apartment does slightly vary from the actual apartments which is to be expected. Also you have to pay sewage and water. Other than that, Great place!

Interesting place to live. I’m a working professional and paid my rent on-​time every month. Keep in mind this is apartment lifestyle so it comes a certain expectation… However, somethings are common sense when it comes to living areas.
Overall the office staff is cordial but no warm-​fuzzy feeling. Depending on who you talk to, you will get a different answer to your question. One thing they are good about is maintenance. If it breaks, they do come out. Since all the appliances are extremely old and mostly don’t work, they have a steady supply on hand to replace it immediately with a less older model.
Dare to go out and you risk walking in piles of dog/​cat crap if you step off the sidewalks which are very uneven. Mind you they have tried to grind them down in certain places only because people have fallen and seriously injured themselves (prior neighbor). On Fri/​Sat/​Sun nights, its entertainment. Baby mommas and daddys having loud discussions can be quite funny. I’ve dove off my bed 3 times due to gun shots in the complex. Security is a joke. They sit in one spot and do whatever. Even parking in my designated spot and then proceeding to yell at me when I waited for them to move. Speaking of parking. If you live on the inside area, don’t expect to have a covered parking anywhere near where you live. Carrying groceries is a pain in the butt because all the «stay at home» people park and don’t move their cars in the areas in front of the apartments for days.
One «Hot» tub does not even have electricity to it to turn bubbles on and it certainly isn’t heated — but it’s quite because no one goes to that side of the complex…
Kids are always playing in the driveway areas and will give you dirty looks as you dodge their scooters laying in the middle of the road — because the property lacks any playground and apparently it’s too much effort to walk to a park to play…
But the one thing that is the most annoying is it that management is YOUR ROOMMATE. They do everything by the book so it’s legal but they have a whole list of excuses for entering your apartment on a CONSTANT basis. Water/​plumbing issues (and there are many!!), measuring cabinets, changing filters that were just changed, etc. It was a joke at my office as to what notice would be posted on my door that week. Started two weeks after I moved in, died down over the holidays, then when my term was coming due, it increased. It must give them some feeling of control to invade a person’s privacy or maybe they just get off looking at other people’s stuff. Generally, a management company will not enter your living space unless there is an emergent need but at Chesapeake they like to be hands on and take a peak at what you have in your apartment from time to time.
Either way, it’s like renting a hotel room. If your ok with that — go for it.

I sent in a couple of maintenence requests for some minor issues around my apartment and I WAS ASTOUNDED! George came over within an hour and handled all my issues before the end of the day!
Like I said– all the staff here onsite are awesome, and George should get a bonus or something for being ON the proverbial IT!

What is up with the water situation? Yet another day that the water to my building has been turned off. This has to be, at least, the 15^th time this has happened in the last few months. It’s either because of repairs to the main line or a random breakage. I understand the need to modernize the plumbing, etc. but who is doing the job, 3^rd graders? Come on! Get it fixed already!
