Terrible!!! Perhaps the worst customer service I have ever received. I went in looking for fruit trees. When I mentioned that I had done some research on the internet the owner became aggressive and argumentative with me. I promptly thanked him for his time and left his property with him screaming at me my whole way out. Their prices are higher and the plants and selection are not as good as Walter Anderson.

I’ve never been to RTC nursery in Ramona but they had a tree in stock and decided to head up there. I accidently pulled into Hidden Valley Ranch Nursery thinking it was RTC. What a lucky accident! Hidden Valley had the tree I was looking for and I checked out all their other trees and they have a huge selection and amazing prices. 15 gallon 4-in-1 apple trees for $ 50 is a great price! They have a much larger selection to choose from than Walter Anderson and they’re way cheaper too. You won’t find any Avocados, Mangoes, or other tropicals here. But if you’re looking for deciduous fruit trees, this is the place to go. To get an idea what they sell google L.E. Cooke, who is their supplier. They don’t sell Dave Wilson trees, so you won’t find any pluots here. They’re supposed to get some citrus in stock next week, i’ll have to go back and what they have when it comes in. I’ll definitely be coming back and buying even more trees. There’s always room for another tree at my house, 53 isn’t nearly enough :)

No matter where you live in San Diego, go out of your way to visit this nursery. Especially if you’re in the market for edibles, like fruit trees, grape vines or berries. The nursery is run as a non-profit for the Hidden Valley Ranch Rehabilitation program in Ramona, which is a long-term residential treatment alternative for adults with traumatic brain injuries. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to meet some of the wonderful residents of the program who help out at the nursery. The nursery is managed by a lovely couple who are very knowledgeable about growing and gardening in Southern California. They don’t have a separate Web site for the nursery, so it’s a well-kept secret — a treasure, in my opinion.
