Love love this place service was great and the food was amazing. A very friendly staff and wonderful management. Couldn’t ask for a better meal. I had the deli chef salad and the meat was sliced to perfection. For dessert I had cheese pie. Wow. Amazing. The best way to end my meal.

Very good corned beef. Tasty rye bread and delicious blintzes. They had a couple of crazy, surely waitresses who may have done them in. Too bad– their meat was very high quality.

The Sign sign said«Voted Best Pastrami and Corn beef in the Triangle» and I was Skeptical! Walking in my Bride and I both said«I’ll be the Judge of that!» With little experience in the Triangle(so far) I can only compare it to other Great Pastrami! It was Very Good! Pastrami and Corn Beef with Swiss and a little Red Onion on an Onion Roll! The Bride had Roast Beef on and Onion Roll! Very Nice! I ate Half of the Roast Beef Sandwich and More than half the Pastrami! We had Three Different Desserts… Two were like«Wedding Cookies» one filled with Chocolate the other with Appricot… the third was like a Sugar Cookie with Icing and a Smiley Face! I would repeat all of them and get at least one of all the others! Quite a variety! Ground Meat and Onion wrapped in Dough and Fried was a nice appetizer, though I could not help comparing it to similar food: Indian, Turkish, Ethiopian, etc… So I’ll just say it was nice. Lady working here was Fantastik! Bold, Sweet and very Helpful! Which means she made recommendations of what Sandwich Components would compliment each Meat or Meat combination and which Bread would go best with!

Delish. So happy to have a solid Deli here in Raleigh, much less not far from my house, serving up badass Pastrami on Rye, potato latkes(potato pancakes), and an assortment of other traditional goodies. I’ve only been once for dinner, and had the Rachel sandwich(Pastrami on rye with sauerkraut, russian dressing, swiss), but that’s all I needed. I’d love to try breakfast here as well, but a good Pastrami place is a must, and here it is folks. Weinberg’s is all business, no nonsense.

Delicious! Had the smoked white fish platter with an everything bagel and a side of potato salad. Couldn’t be happier and more full. My partner had the hot pastrami sandwich with cole slaw on it instead of kraut and loved it. Last time had the reuben sandwich with potato salad and it was very good. Service is very fast and friendly and the food comes out super fast. If I didn’t live in Durham I’d be here more often. How about opening a location there too?!!

Weinberg’s has become a favorite of mine, that is for sure. Now there is nothing to look at in terms of decorating the inside. however the food makes up for it in spades. WE have been there 4 times with different wait staff and they are all excellent. We have tried breakfast, lunch and dinner here and the food is outstanding to me. They bring pickles out to the table to munch on. Favorites so far for breakfast lunch and dinner. Homemade corned beef with eggs and potatoes chopped liver sandwich beef brisket sandwich the NY white potato salad Cheddar mushroom and sausage omelet I can’t wait to go back and I highly recommend this place for an inexpensive meal that offers quality.

We had picked up a Living Social deal for Weinberg’s for the heck of it and needed to use it before it expired. After reading other reviews, my expectations for service and availability of food was fairly low… which was good, because neither were very stellar. The diner was fairly busy and there were only two waitresses. One was slow and forgot to get us water. The other was REALLY nice and was hustling so we forgave her for not being terribly attentive. A table by us was clearly dealing with the whole«we ran out» problem… it seemed like several things weren’t available. When we ordered, I could only get macaroni salad or fries with my sandwich(The Rachel). When my sandwich came, it had potato salad with it which is just as well because that’s what I wanted in the first place! The waitress seemed just as confused as we were! So, all in all, it seems like the place could be managed a bit better. Now on to the food… It was really good. They served kosher dill pickles from NYC(Brooklyn I think) that were nice and crunchy and had the perfect dill flavor. I ordered The Rachel(like a Reuben but with pastrami instead of corned beef). The rye bread was a bit soggy on the bottom but still tasted good. The sandwich was piled high with really thinly slice pastrami that was really tasty. There was the perfect amount of sauerkraut, cheese, and Russian dressing on it… I hate it when the sandwich is drowning in dressing and this was the perfect amount to let the pastrami shine. The potato salad was a small portion but it was a very flavorful red skinned potato salad with onion, celery(I think), and bacon. It wasn’t drowning in mayo and wasn’t overpowered by the bacon which was nice. My husband got the BBQ Brisket sandwich on an onion roll with french fries. He didn’t seem to have any problem finishing it(even though there was easily 6−8oz of brisket on it). I tasted the brisket and it was fantastic. Thinly shaved brisket, very tender, and a mild BBQ sauce that didn’t overpower the meat. I judge a deli by the quality of their Reuben(or Rachel) and was impressed with mine. All in all, we would definitely go back. I’d be interested in trying some of their other specialties. We’ll just make sure to go back with high expectations of the food and low expectations for everything else. But sometimes, if the food is that good, it’s worth it. Plus our waitress was really sweet. She gets an A for effort!

First visit is just A-OK. As others have said, when you walk in, it looks just like every other deli in NY, even rural western NY where my bride and I hail from. The food is pretty good and it gives us an opportunity to try things we’ve never had before. They were out of Kosher Dills, out of potato salad etc. The thing that lacked the most was staff… one gal was trying to greet and seat everyone, and take their orders, and the person who was helping her must have been slammed too. So, we ordered an appetizer and dinner, and then we waited, and watched as all of the guests who came in behind us started receiving their food. In the midst of this we heard one gentleman say«They should lose their Jewish Deli license — they’re outta potata salad!» Yeah, okay… whatever. After several reassurances from our server that we had not been forgotten, that our food was indeed being prepared, our appetizer finally came out, but it came out with our dinners. Bad timing in the kitchen, I guess. The saving grace here is the food — all of it, was terrific! My daughter actually ate everything on her plate — that is a rarity and I shoulda taken a picture of it. The coleslaw was very fresh! The Pastrami was awesome! I didn’t know what a Knish was, but I found out… wasn’t great, but it was different, a potato filled pastry it seems, and with the right sauce, maybe even with sour cream, it has potential. It’ll be worth another try on another day and hopefully the overall experience will be much better.

The Kreplach Soup is AMAZING. And they give you so much! First time I was there I had the rueben. I hate to chew it with my eyes close because it was THATGOOD! I ended up bringing my entire office back the next week. NOONE was disappointed with their order. Oh. And do yourself a favor. GET their sugar cookies while you’re placing your order.

I was so excited to hear there was what seemed to be a legit deli in the area, so my husband and I decided to visit for lunch today(Saturday). We arrived at noon and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by one of the guys behind the counter. He told us to sit where we wanted, brought us some menus, and said a waitress would be right with us. During this time, there were 5 other tables and all had been waited on. We sat and looked over the menu and 3 more tables came in after us, sat, and were greeted by a waitress. We sat there… and still no waitress. There were 3 girls working and all 3 had walked by our table but not ONE stopped to grab our order or even make eye contact. We sat there for 10 minutes without speaking to a waitress when we decided it was time to leave. I waited tables for almost 10 years and if 3 waitresses can’t handle 9 tables, that’s pretty sad. With service(or lack of) that we experienced today, we will never go back. It’s a shame because I really wanted some pastrami.

When you enter Weinberg’s you may get the sensation you have stepped into teleport device and landed in a deli in NYC. Same look, same atmosphere, even the same smell of the meats and cheeses. Step back out and you are in Raleigh again. The times that I have eaten there the sandwiches have meat piled thick on them. Since the sandwiches are prepared when you order they have that fresh sliced taste to the meats and cheeses; not the processed taste you get at other places. I have tried several different menu items and they have been good each time. Chips are not the ordinary Lays brand– the are a kettle type and have a really nice texture and taste(if you can say that about a potato chip). The pasta salads are good as well. Servers are quick and friendly. I like that the owner is there and it is a locally owned small business. One of the best aspects of the place is when you sit down they bring pickles to you. Just like a NYC deli. It has a typical NY deli interior– nothing fancy. Prices may be a little higher than other places, but the focus seems to be on providing good quality food. It is a little difficult to find, it is located in on Falls of Neuse Rd. in the strip mall behind the Tribeca Tavern.

We loved our entire experience dining at Weinberg’s! Everyone there was very attentive to our needs and also took time to explain what everything was. The food was delicious, flavorful and unique! If you are looking for a unique dining experience and its all about the food(like it is with us) then definitely go to this family owned deli! My hubby is still wishing he could have another Sailor sandwich but we’ll have to wait until we get to go to Raleigh again in the future!

I came to Weinberg’s Deli for lunch recently with high hopes. I know we aren’t in New York City, but I really think that a good Deli would do well here, you know, with all the Yankees in the area and all. I am not a Yankee, but enjoy good meats, cheeses and sandwiches which is what brought me to try the place along with the other favorable Unilocal reviews. I ordered the«Rachel» which is the female cousin(or Sister) of the Rueben with pastrami, saurkraut, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing. Its sounds good and it was. The sandwich was good sized, piled high with the delectable pastrami which was thinly sliced with a peppery crust and cured to perfection. The best pastrami I have tasted in this area. I had the potato salad as a side and was less impressed here. The potato salad was ok, but somewhat bland tasting and just nothing special. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Several staff members came by to check on me and ask how my meal was. This is the kind of service which makes you glad to give a place your business. I am surprised that they weren’t packed for lunch, only slightly busy. I recommend Weinberg’s based on my one visit. I hope they do a good bagel, because I will be returning to check them out for breakfast.

My family is always looking for a good New York style deli here in the triangle and this is by far the best we’ve found. The pastrami and the corned beef were New York quality, and the cabbage roll was delicious as well. The cheese pie was great — the recipe has been in Mr. Weinberg’s family for multiple generations. Additionally, this was some of the most friendly service I’ve had at a restaurant. We felt right at home and talked to Mr. Weinberg himself for quite a while. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly. While it’s 45 minutes from our house, we will definitely be returning soon.

We’ve been to Weinberg’s three times and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Our food has always been wonderful(Reuben, Reuben Burger, Reuben Rolls, The Sailor) with generous portions. Our service has never been less than acceptable. Maybe some of the less than good reviews on service were before they got their groove? We intend to visit many more times when we are in North Raleigh.

Nice, friendly, helpful staff with good food in North Raleigh. Many items on the menu I have not seen since the last time I was in New York. I had the corned beef & pastrami on rye. Good, but small portions for the price. When you first sit down they bring you good crunchy kosher pickles. The table next to us had breakfast and it looked really good. I’ll have to try breakfast here sometime. They do have some items for sale in the deli case such as shrimp salad and lox and red potato salad. Whatever service issues they might have had were worked out by the time we tried it last night. My wife had a hot pastrami on rye and I had soup with matzoh balls and kreplach. The soup was good(could have been a little hotter though) and the pastrami was superlative. Really really good stuff. Got some cookies for dessert, the almond macaroons are amazing(we bought two more to take home). Our waiter was always there and we were checked in on plenty. Its a bit out of the way from our house but we’ll definitely be back, great dinner!

I stalked this place like a lion hunting a gazelle ever since I saw the sign that said Weinberg’s Deli coming soon. I met my husband for lunch here. He’s from up North and loves Deli’s so I felt I was with an expert. I was greeted immediately, they had about 3 people up front waiting for customers. I was seated immediately and let the waitress know that I was waiting for my husband. She was very attentive and I ordered a Doc Brown’s Black Cherry soda(really at a Jewish Deli you need one). They also have egg creams if you like those, but I’m not a fan. We got really good service from our waitress, she said that she was from North Carolina so that she’d be a little slower when writing our order. For appetizer we got the fried kreplach and I ordered a cup of the matzoh ball soup. The kreplach was yummy deep fried goodness. It’s a fried meat filled dumpling. The matzoh ball soup was ok. There was one matzoh ball in their and it was light. It was jammed pack with noodles and chicken which prevented me from telling right away whether the ball was a sinker or a floater. It was a floater. I’m gonna say that it’s hard for me to judge matzoh ball soup when my friend Shelly makes the best that I’ve ever had(don’t tell my mother in law). I compare all matzoh ball soup to hers. Both my hubby and I ate the hot corned beef sandwich on rye. As others have reviewed, the sandwich is not a huge sandwich. But there is a good amount and the quality is really good. The taste was really good and really fresh. The bread was heavily seeded but really soft. Just a really good sandwich. It comes with chips but you can pay extra and swap for potato salad. The waitress gave us our check before we could check out desserts, but that’s probably good for the waist line. The owner did come by 2 times to see how it was. They are still getting their groove on as this is the first week that they opened, but I think the food is great. I can’t wait to go back and try other dishes. My husband grabbed a to go menu and I have feeling that I will be receiving texts to grab food on the way home from work.

Soooo excited Weinberg’s is open and so fantastic. I can finally get authentic deli pickles now in Raleigh! As great as the deli food was — and it was — dessert was unbelievable and we cannot wait to return.

OK… I’m going to try and remain calm. Its important that I do, because otherwise I may come off as a raving lunatic. Weinberg’s Deli is open in a Harris Teeter shopping center on Falls of the Neuse(just below Spring Forest Rd.), and its really REALLY great! Let me start by saying Weinberg’s only opened officially today…11/14/11. This is an important note because they don’t yet entirely have their acts together. This is to be expected and forgiven of any new business, and I will not hold it against them in this review. My wife and I have been watching for Weinberg’s to open for a while. Being from NY, and both of us growing up in and around Jewish delis, it’s really the thing that Raleigh has been missing for us. The opening of Weinberg’s finally fills that hole and it does it admirably. So we arrived, sat, and ordered… Me: fried kreplach(think of them as jewish wontons, filled with beef, not pork). These were flavorful and crispy. A definite order-again. Then a corned beef on rye. The thing is, there are fundamentals. If a deli can’t manage a corned beef sandwich, the more involved stuff almost doesn’t matter. This corned beef? Really good… solid flavor, and fall apart texture(that’s a good thing). Is it Katz’s in NY? No… not yet. But Katz’s has been open since the late 1800’s. Weinberg’s has been open since 10am. I’m giving them time. Wifey: brisket platter, which came with steamed carrots and kasha on the side. If you’re unfamiliar with kasha, its cracked buckwheat. Its earthy and a very good side dish to meat of all kinds, especially beef. Generally, bowtie pasta is added, thus changing the name to kasha varnishkes. Unfortunately, they didn’t yet have any bowtie pasta. But they will. She said the beef was fantastic. Juicy and flavorful. And the kasha was yummy, she said, without being dry. Our friend: chicken soup with matzoh balls(I tried the matzoh ball… its light and airy… no lead bombs here!) and a bagel and nova(that’s lox) platter. All very good. Alright, so here’s where I swoon… The owner came over and offered us each a slice of the cheese pie. Cheesecake is normally cream cheese and sour cream mixed together to make a batter. But what he brought to the table was a cream cheese base with a separate layer of sweetened sour cream on top, in a graham cracker crust. A true and honest cheese pie. The thing is, my grandmother used to make the EXACTSAMEPIE… I still have the recipe! Friends, this pie is not to be missed. No, you won’t have the memory of eating it at my grandmother’s kitchen table, but you’ll enjoy it anyway. Just… not as much as I will. Its fantastic and every bit as good as my memory. I don’t think I can go to Weinberg’s, know that its there, and not have a slice. Yes…I’m frothing a bit. But I promise that if the food was bad, I’d say so. This is the food of my youth, and its special to me… to do it badly would draw my ire, regardless of how well intentioned. In Weinberg’s case, what glitches there were… service was a little slow, but again, we went in expecting glitches… are hopefully temporary and far outweighed by the very VERY good food. They have food available nowhere else here… including smoked whitefish(a personal fave). The food may be new to a lot of people here, but I promise you’ll like it. And if you don’t wash your sandwich down with a Dr. Brown’s, you’re doing it wrong. ;-)
