Unlimited Recovery

Only giving a star so I can write this review. This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I currently handicapped (due to surgery) and I went to a restaurant on Hillsborough St. in Raleigh. There were no handicapped spots in the parking lot so I parked as close to the door of the restaurant as I could get because I can’t walk long distances and on top of that, it was raining. Apparently, this parking lot has specific spaces for specific restaurants. However, I was under the assumption as long as you were going to any of the restaurants in the strip that my parking there would be fine. I proceeded to eat my lunch in La Rancherita (one of the restaurants that has parking spaces in the lot) but my car was parked in a Golden Dragon specific spot. The parking spaces have no lines or numbers so determining which spot is for which restaurant is not that easy because people park crooked and outside the lines. This company had spotters sitting in the parking lot who watched me get out of my car, limp into the restaurant, and then without so much as a warning towed my car. I had to pay $ 100 to get my car back and I was furious. Upon arriving at the location my car was towed to, there was no management there to answer my questions and I had no choice but to pay in order to get my car back. This company is embarrassingly horrible and I would recommend you never deal with them if you don’t have to.

Had a rude driver tow my car even after I told him that I live in the apartment there and can show him my registration with my address on it. I’m assuming they’re all about making their commission for toes and don’t care who they screw over. The lady on the phone was just as bad. Charged me $ 175 to get my car back. Terrible company.

Only gave one star so I could post this. Horrible crooks. If I ever need help and they sent these people I would wait a long, long time for another company to show up. The receptionist is worthless.

After getting in an accident where my car ended on top of the hood of a minivan (ugh…don’t ask) last week Unlimited Recovery was called to get my car down. Surprisingly they did it so carefully that my car was 100% drivable after the accident, though I was urged by the cops to let them tow it so I could gather myself, calm down and make some calls. Not knowing just how much it costs to tow a car I agreed and let them take my Yaris while I rode in the front with the driver and my dog.
While the driver was pretty quiet (not mean or anything, just quiet) the lady who was working the front desk was wooooooonderful. She kept an eye on my dog (and even found him something to drink some water out of) while I made calls, answered every question I had, helped me calm down a bit and even gave me some advice on what to do next (it was my first accident, yay me?). Then when my friend accidentally hit some debris in the road while coming for me she had one of her guys check out her car to make sure nothing was the matter. After the awful day I was having ironically the tow people were the friendliest people I dealt with. Definitely not what I was expecting!
The only reason I can’t give them five stars is that it was $ 199 to tow my car what had to be five miles. Granted i’m sure some of the cost was the whole getting my car off another car BUT STILL. Now I know towing is crazy expensive. Hopefully I won’t need their services again, but in terms of dealing with tow companies my experience was pretty great!

These people are horrible. They towed my car and after I paid to get the car out I went to find it in their crappy lot and it was parked in the corner with 8 cars blocking it. When I told the they said I had to wait for a driver to come and move all the cars out of my cars way. They illegally detained me for almost two hours! The people that work there are predators that are the lowest class of people on the planet.

The lot was not clearly marked and I felt like I was being taken advantage of the entire time. The person on the phone was incredibly rude (which I understand because most folks that call about being towed can be rude) but I was trying my best to be calm and kind. When I picked up my vehicle, I was ignored for around 5 minutes even though there were 3 people behind the desk mocking somebody’s driver license photo they had just scanned in. They finally let me pay my $ 100 and I was on my way. I would suggest a better attitude on the phone as well as clearly marking the lots. I was simply purchasing a coffee and was towed in less than 5 minutes.

Scurvy, ratfucker sons of bitches.
I got booted –so fast– in an area that wasn’t clearly marked. If I knew to look on that overgrown tree, next to a dumpster for a sign, I wouldn’t have parked there.
But I’m sure these dudes go out of the way to make sure their little, graffiti covered signs are hidden.
Now that’s all fine, I mean, not really fine, but here’s the kicker:
He didn’t even have the boot on.
He charged me $ 50.
For what, you to get out of your truck? It’s not even raining. You probably don’t even have a high school diploma.
No offense to folks who dropped out of high school, I know plenty of great people who contribute to society in many ways who dropped out of high school, some by choice and some by necessity. But these guys don’t contribute anything to anyone, except the owner of the company.
Then, whatever hapless lacky was getting paid to run around booting peoples car wrote my credit card number in _​plain english_​, in full, on the carbon copy of the reciept they gave me. Which means there’s 2 other people who have my credit card number somewhere out there.
With most companies, I wouldn’t be too concerned, but with a bunch people who run a business like this, you bet I’m concerned.
Fuck these guys and fuck every other business like them. It’s possible to enforce «parking regulations» without acting like total dickbags who’ve never heard of identity theft.
One day, each and every bastard who hits you where it hurts for no reason will go the way of payday lenders, fascists, and other people who take advantage of folks who are down on their luck.
In the meantime, fuck these guys and everyone who uses them.
I’m probably testing the limits of «colorful language» allowed in the content guidelines on here, but then again I once wrote a review of a porn store based on the fact that I got propositioned in the parking lot and they didn’t sell whip-​its.

I just had to pay $ 50 to a driver to put my car down. I saw the truck pulling cars before I parked in the lot, but based on the signage I assumed I was legally parked… NOT!
I was gone no more than 5 minutes and returned to see my car up on the lift. This company is the definition of predatory and I would not be surprised if they advise the landlords on what and what not to post on the signs to make it more advantageous for them to tow.
As I left the lot they were already moving on to the next victim…
Predators

I needed a car towed out of my designated and numbered parking spot at the apartment complex that I live in, so I called them up and they told me they’d send a driver over here. 30 minutes later, no show. I called them again, and the person on the phone said a driver JUST left to go towards my place. An hour has passed since the first call, so I called again. They told me they were looking for another driver, even though they told me a driver was coming 30 minutes ago.
I would hate to have my car towed by these guys, given all the bad reputation they’re building for themselves around here.

Had my car towed by these guys and walked into their business with a friendly attitude. The young female working the counter (Tuesday January 29, 2013 11:00PM) was completely rude. She was not friendly at all. After I had paid for my towing, she had informed me that I could pick my car up and to exit the back door and she would open the gate for me. After I pulled up to the gate, she never opened it. I sat there for a couple of minutes, and even honked my horn in case she did not realize I was sitting there. Afterwards I put my car in park, and returned into the business where I told her the gate never opened. She continued by rolling her eyes, and saying «Oh sorry» and pushed the button. I hope no one ever has to have such a disgusting encounter like this ever in their life, and the fact that this business is still operating is such a shame.

My car was also towed from visitor parking in an apartment complex in Raleigh and they cut the parking brake cable in order to move the car, but denied ever cutting the brake cable. I ALWAYS park with my parking brake engaged, and after receiving my car it was not working. They claimed I signed a waiver when I picked my car up, but they did NOT give me a chance to actually inspect my car or drive it around before signing the waiver. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They lie and steal cars from visitor parking lots.
