2^nd time in since I became a member this is by far the best range I’ve been to lanes are very nice all the staff are super helpful an they even have a café serving killer food check it out. Also I was looking for a hard to find FN 57 could not find one any where I emailed and Mike brought one in for me to rest out had it there in 2 days shot 20 rounds loved it left with a new one the staff there is the greatest range an café all top notch

Respect!!! Hands down ⁵⁄₅ star shooting range. Having moved around a bit and thus having tried on many different ranges across the country, I’m surprising myself by saying this is one of my favorites. This place has their act together. They also make it so first timers don’t feel degraded (I’ve been to ranges where I’ve overheard RSOs speaking down to new shooters and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth… We all started somewhere).
First, the facility is amazing. It’s like someone crawled into my brain and said what is everything you ever wanted in a range and made it come to fruition. The place is brand new, super clean, the gun selection is huge, their rental selection is also huge, and their lanes are every indoor shooters dream. There are electronic range command panels so you can send your target where you want it with simple touchscreen controls (that even my short self at 5′ tall can reach), there are lights on the target, the targets are held up by stapling them to the cardboard (no more fumbling with annoying clips) and the ventilation system is AMAZING! The RSO was super friendly, spoke to me about her favorite gun for carrying, and was helpful for it being my first time at this range. Also, this place is huge, so even on a very busy Sunday afternoon, I had no wait to get on the range (which I can’t say for any other range I’ve tried out in the area).
Second, every staff member here rocked! Huge shout out to James! I was mulling over a Springfield XDM I had shot earlier in the day; James was patient (so patient!!), let me hold the XDS, and then pointed out an M&P that was the best of both worlds. Not only did he take the time to answer my questions about it, he got me out on the range to try it out (not that it’s too hard to convince me to get out on the range), and answered all of my (many, many, many) questions about the range, membership options, etc. It was super fast to go through the application and waiver and then 8 minute range safety video (thank you, TSA, for requiring everyone to watch this video. I don’t care how experienced of a shooter you think you are, I have been shocked at behavior I have seen at ranges in the past and you as a shooter next to me need to know what not to do even if you think you’re a pro) that everyone needs to watch. I got out on the range and had a blast trying out the M&P.
A few things to note, yes it’s $ 15 for a range card (good for 1 year) the first time you shoot here in addition to your range fee. That is the industry standard now. It’s the same price at the county range and it’s slightly more or less at other ranges. Deal with it. Second, yes if you don’t have your own eyes and ears, you will have to pay a (reasonable) fee for them. Again, current industry standard. Deal with it. Third, the range fees are completely fair for the facility. You want to shoot at a state of the art facility, you will pay $ 5 more an hour to shoot. You want to shoot cheaper, your lanes won’t hold a candle to this place. The fees charged here are totally fair and priced appropriately for the area and the caliber of facility. Also, for $ 15 you can rent any pistol in your choice of caliber and switch as many times as you want within that caliber for an hour. You do have to buy their ammo if you rent their pistols (I can’t blame them in the least… at least this way the pistols are kept in great condition despite repeated rentals) but their ammo prices are totally fair!!! I was shocked to pay just over $ 14 for 50 rounds of 9 mm today. Usually ranges jack up the price of ammo so much. Again, respect for TSA. Quick note, only brass ammo allowed here. I have been waiting since I moved to the Triangle and trying on different places, but this is it. I cannot wait to get back to TSA.

First time visit was an early Saturday afternoon. Went to the large central desk and requested to use the range. They collected my drivers license and credit card and asked that I complete some fairly routine registration, paperwork, liability waiver on an iPad like device on the counter (good use of technology). I was instructed to watch an 8 minute safety video that plays on a loop in a nearby room. After the video I returned to the desk and received my range card card and a receipt for $ 15, they returned my license and credit card, and I was instructed to head over to the range area. One of the employees asked what I would need which in this case was eye and ear protection. He asked if I had ammunition with me, I told him yes. He asked to see it to ensure it was brass (no aluminum cases allowed) and also that it was not steel-​core. It is nice to see a range that allows you to bring your own ammo… many of them require that you buy their ammo on-​site at crazy prices… but they allow you to bring your own. I was charged $ 15 for a 1-​hour range pass, $ 1.50 each for a couple of targets, $ 2 for ear protection and $ 2 for safety glasses. I paid and proceeded to the shooting range…
There are several «pods» each with about 10 shooting lanes. I found my shooting lane and proceeded to blow through 150 rounds of ammo at distances of 7-​meters, 10-​meters and 15-​meters. They have a digitally controlled target system which allows you to specify exact distances (as opposed to relying on marks on the floor). Very easy to use. It has been several years since I last visited a shooting range, had an awesome time.
They have individual yearly memberships for $ 595 and family yearly memberships for $ 695. How often you plan to go would obviously dictate your choice of a membership versus pay-​as-​you-​go. I have not used any other ranges in the area, so cannot speak to how their pricing compares to others. However, I was very pleased with the whole experience. Certainly plan to return.

Had an excellent, first time experience at Triangle Shooting Academy. When I arrived, I was greeted by two employees behind the front counter where I was promptly given direction to provide identification and payment for the $ 15 fee to become registered as in their system (I had already reviewed and signed the mandatory waiver online… I strongly recommend you do this as well to save time). I was then directed to a small, open room off to the side where I watched the mandatory, just under 9 minute safety range video. After I watched the video, I received my identification and form of payment back at the front counter and then was instructed to a counter in the middle part of the building where I was assigned a lane within the range and provide payment for my hour on the range. Once I entered the range, I was greeted by a incredibly friendly, helpful range officer who saw me to my lane and gave me a quick tutorial on hanging my target and the use of the computerized lane equipment. The range officer was just as helpful with everyone else that arrived as he was with me, and there were mostly first timers in the range today. When I went to switch from my handgun to my rifle, he even offered up and provided me with a chair. While the length of the range was only 25 yards, it was still more than perfect for what I was looking to do. I save the long range firing for the outdoors. All in all, For 1 hour and 4 targets, I paid $ 27.76, for a total of $ 42.76 for my entire first time visit… and after having arrived at 11:05am in the door, I was on the range and shooting by 11:24am. Great experience… no degrading or berating attitudes here– rather, very welcoming and willing to assist in any way. I will certainly be back on a monthly if not biweekly basis. Well done, TSA.

The staff are very helpful. I had never shot a gun before and a guy walked me through the process and watched over me to correct my stance and everything. I enjoyed it a lot. If it is your first time here this year you need to fill an application and watch a video but next times you can go straight to the shooting range. Overall I had a great experience.

Yes, it will cost you a one time $ 15 to register with them.
$ 20 For the first person per hour, $ 15 for the second so long as you share a lane.
Allow extra time to fill out the waiver and watch the safety video. Save time by doing the waiver online. Link is on their website.
NO NON-​BRASS AMMO! So spend the extra money and buy your CCI Blazer brass online instead of the super cheap TulAmmo, because only brass cased ammo is allowed.
Super clean, friendly staff, Range Safety officer was a super nice older gentleman who ran me and my guest through the interface for the lane target control system.
An hour may not sound like a long time, but it was the perfect amount of time. Almost a little too long for a first time shooter or someone who is out of practice.
Last, but definitely not least, do yourself a favor and get to know Scott who runs the café. Super great guy. He’s genuinely proud of the food he and his family put out. For example, they bake their own bread, and even make their own honey mustard. They do catering professionally, and have been for over 20 years. You don’t survive a cut throat business like that without some serious skills.
I had the chicken tenders. It was two of the biggest, juiciest tenders I’ve ever had. It was like two whole chicken breasts!
Seriously NOT your standard, bar/​pub/​bowling alley fare. I would come here just to eat!
Will definitely come back to shoot, eat and relax.

Finally had a chance to check this place out this past weekend during their grand opening event and I must say I’m impressed! The staff are very friendly, unlike many range staff around the country, and they even talk to you about your firearms if you have something interesting. There’s a full retail store with decent priced ammunition, firearms priced around the Cabelas price point, tactical gear, clothing, and even a full menu café. The range itself has plenty of shooting lanes and you can view the lanes through glass along the back wall of the store to see how busy it is before you pay. They have an extensive gun rental counter as well! The technology on the lanes is impressive with useable touchpad controls for the mechanical target tracks to send out to 25 yards. Staple guns are provided at each lane to pin up your paper targets to the cardboard backing and the range itself is new and very clean. Now for some negatives, much like many ranges around the country, this one is very expensive to shoot at which is a trend these days as so many new shooters join the market. It starts with a temporary yearly membership you have to pay to get your range card for $ 15 using an app on iPads at the front, then you watch a 5 minute range safety video. Once you get your temporary range card, it’s $ 20 per hour to use the lanes and I saw several people walk out once they realized it’ll cost you $ 35 the first time PER PERSON to shoot. If you want to become a member with unlimited access to the range that will put you back about $ 600 for a year but they do have payment installments available. Maybe they should offer a discount day during the week to help people save money on range fees and spend more on ammo. Overall, this is a great facility and well-​planned out, it’s worth a look.

Great facility with some really nice people there including the owner. Website advertises range fees starting at $ 20. Wrong, range fees start at $ 20 after you buy a $ 15 range card (bring your own eye and ear protection because they rent those unlike every other shooting range I’ve been to). Staff response to the incorrect web information was «Oh, we’ll look at the website». It cost a little over $ 80 for my son to shoot his gun a little (excluding ammo).
We will be back for some classes and possibly to purchase another weapon but I feel a little conned into those never ending fees and the range staff needs some training on basic customer experience issues. Almost walked out furious but was stopped by a nice man behind the gun case and he did the right thing every step of the way. Obviously the leadership’s heart is in the right place they are just experiencing some growing pains.
Try it out for yourself but be prepared to bring your wallet.

This place is great, we went for valentines day and it was so much fun. They were very busy. I noticed they took time with people who didnt know much about guns, and were very up front about not putting up with any idiotic stuff. They have a very clean place, with great ranges. The café was super nice and the food looked good, but we had already eaten. The rentals were nice, and amo not over priced. Very good time.

Amazing experience at this place! My friends and I have never handled guns before — Archie was super professional, super attentive, and explained everything we needed to know. We learned about the different guns, how to load them, where the safeties were located, and the proper way to hold them! I would highly recommend this place for all shooters! THANK YOU ARCHIE!

Joined today — staff is excellent and range is top notch — well worth the costs for a quality range and facilities. The extras are what sold me. Two visits per month pays for the individual membership so joining is well worth the initial investment.

It’s a true «guntry club». Absolutely beautiful range. and great selection. However REALLY HIGH PRICES. Probably because they have to pay for what I’m sure is a multi-​million dollar facility.
Also really disappointed in the the fact they are unwilling to let steel case be shot on the range. When I asked them they clearly said they resell the brass and don’t allow it because they can’t reload it and don’t want to deal with it.
–40 points in my opinion because I shoot allot of steel case both rifle and pistol.
Also their FFL’s went up to a whopping $ 40 bucks a transfer. My jaw dropped when I heard that. I’m sure they are economically trying to pressure people into buying guns from their store and not shipping them in via FFL to save money. Well time to find a new low cost FFL dealer and

Overall the employees seem competent and courteous, but the range is too busy on the weekend and I’m too impatient to wait for a lane. I had really high hopes for this new range, but at this point with the two strikes against it I’ll continue shooting at the Wake County public range that allows steel case. Can you tell I’m really disappointed by that?
If you’re just a simple brass pistol shooter, then this is a great place for you, but if you have a large range of varying calibers and types of ammo, find another indoor range or an outdoor range that will allow it.

This is the best range in the Triangle, in my opinion. Visited on a Saturday and expected to wait, being a first time customer, and with the amount of cars in the parking lot. However, I was greeted at the door, walked through the sign in process and watching the required safety video in about 10 minutes from arrival. After the video, I checked in with the range crew and was in my stall with no wait at all.
The facility appeared to have at least 30 stalls (I’m sure their website lists an actual number). Targets were only 1.50 each and the hour rental was $ 20. Very affordable compared to the competition locally. Each bay had digital controls with timers and adjustable yardages.
There is a good retail space there as well with a snack bar, televisions, and the ability to view shooters as they are in the range stalls.
Staff was thorough, professional, friendly, and safety oriented.
I’ll be a long time customer here!

One of the most impressive guns ranges I have ever seen. The lanes are clean with well-​maintained equipment, good ventilation, gunsmith on-​site, gun store and even an excellent café on the side (TSA Café).

My wife and I visited for the first time yesterday to use the handgun range. The initialize process of getting your members had a little wait time but nothing that wasn’t expected. You watched a quick video, some some papers and that’s it. You will pay $ 15/​person per year. You walk up to the counter by the range and tell them how many lanes you want and they hand you everything you need on the spot (ear pro, eye pro, targets, etc.) The targets are controlled by touch screen and you can set any distances you want. The staff is extremely helpful, polite, professional, and fun to be around. When we left the guy shook our hands and thanked us for your time/​visit. I WILL return to this place next time I stock up on ammo for another fun day of shooting.

There are three bays of eleven lanes, each 25 yards. The targets are controlled by a tablet computer at your bench. Set the distance and light level, press Go, and the rest is automatic. It even has a programmable thing where you can have the target repeatedly alternate between facing you and edge-​on. I appreciated that I didn’t have to wait for everyone to stop shooting so the range could go «cold» before I could change my target. For safety, the partitions between the lanes are bulletproof, and the backstop is Kevlar. Before you can shoot there the first time, everyone has to watch an eight minute safety video. The range safety officers are very polite, helpful, and friendly.
They have invested heavily in the acoustics and air filtration systems. The guy next to me was shooting a large .45 and it was noticeably quieter than any other range I’ve ever visited. And when you are in the store, the noise from the range is not really noticeable above the general noise of the store. Even with a full bay, the air quality was about the same as being outdoors. Somehow they manage to filter or exchange the air and still have a comfortable temperature, even on a really cold day.
The retail store is going to be impressive once it’s fully stocked. The sales people are courteous and patient, and all that I have talked to really knew their product. It would be a good place to send a first time gun buyer who is a little intimidated and doesn’t know what he wants. I think the prices are kind of high, though. For example, a standard black Gen 4 Glock 19 is $ 611 there, but you can find them all over town for $ 539 – 569. I didn’t see many hunting rifles or equipment, and one salesman told me it was «seasonal».
The café has pretty good food, my salad was very fresh and the dressing was homemade. The staff worked really hard to make sure I enjoyed my meal and was taken care of. The fireplace is a nice touch. They have three classrooms with very nice A/​V setups. Bathrooms are granite countertops and stone inlaid walls, and nicer than I have at my house. There’s none of the testosterone stuff, political signs, nor animal heads you see in some gun stores. It’s a safe, bright, non-​threatening place to bring your family, or a woman for a date, or a first-​time shooter.

I bought a handgun online and had it transfered to NRG for pickup. Transaction was smooth and courteous, transfer fee was reasonable at $ 25. When I told them this was my first firearm purchase they where encouraging and not condensending which I appreciated. I had a little trouble contacting them (email bounced back) but once I did all went well, looking forward to thier new store and range.

It took me some time to find this shop. It’s not in an area of town I visit often nor on a road that boasts many ordinary retail businesses.
I like North Raleigh Guns for a couple of reasons: They have a good inventory and the employees will take all the time necessary to make sure you and the gun you choose are a right match — at least for anyone who doesn’t already know what they want. If you already know, NRG likely already has it and then you can spend time talking about related topics and picking up a few extras items to round out your new purchase.
Then, or perhaps before, you make your purchase, if you’re a novice, North Raleigh Guns has several classes available, some ladies-​only, for those wanting to learn the basics of guns and gun safety. The classes pack a lot of information into a short period of time, but the instructor keep it interesting. I’d almost say they’re fun. Unlike courses offered in other places, NRG doesn’t require you to have a gun to take the classes. They furnish one to you. No commitment. The perfect combination for anyone just not certain if he or she can accept the responsibility of gun handling or ownership. You can register and pay on-​line for the classes, held at a different location, so NRG does everything they can to make it easy to determine your comfort factor.
I’ve been impressed with how well North Carolina gun store employees as whole, at least the ones I’ve visited so far, have been respectful. NRG is no exception. I can say with some experience, there are other states in which a female in a gun store necessarily elicits the verbal equivalent of a pat on the head and an «awwww.» NRG isn’t one of those. They take you and your business seriously.
They’re in the process of trying to get an indoor gun range as part of their full service offering. If they’re successful, it will make this place an even nicer draw for those living in the North Raleigh area or willing to travel to it.
