Kristina Donoho is our Lead Groomer and has won several awards for her grooming ability. We have a mobile vet that supports our beliefs and is on call at anytime. Top Notch Pet Spa is the dream of Jennifer Lengel and Kristina Donoho. Both of them have been in the pet industry for a combined 30 years. Kristina Donoho has been grooming for 16 years. She competes with her two poodles Tipsy and Cisco in confirmation. Kristina has won several awards with her competition grooms. Jennifer Lengel opened the salon to help pet parents find a place that is stress-​free and allows the pet parents to build a relationship with their pet’s groomer. Jennifer believes that the grooming experience is suppose to be a bonding environment and not a place that pets get just a haircut. With over 15 years in the Pet Specialty field Jennifer grew to listen and observe the actions and behaviors of pets and their pet parents. One of the biggest things that stood out was that many pet parents didn’t feel comfortable leaving their pets in someone’s hands they didn’t know. Even though big box retail attempts to connect pet parents with their groomers, the demands on the groomers meant they have less and less time to really connect with the pet or the client. That’s when Jennifer joined forces with Kristina Donoho and set forth to give pets and their parents an environment that reduces stress and grows a connection.

The wonderful ladies at Top Notch Pet Spa worked us in for an afternoon appointment at the Spa. Our little man came home smelling the best he’s ever smelt and his coat was extremely soft and shiny. She was careful enough to notice redness inside of his ear and deferred cleaning it knowing the cleanser would burn his open wound. This was our first, but definitely not last time visiting Top Notch Pet Spa!

I took my 1 y/​o mastiff there the other day for the first time. I felt like most people when dropping their 4 legged baby off anywhere for the first time: nervous, scared, hoping she would behave. When I went back to pick her up she looked great and better yet smelled great! They took care of her ridiculous undercoat and days later she is still looking and smelling good! I will defiantly be back!!!

We used their in-​home sitting services for our 2 very spoiled cats while we were out of the country for a week. Jennifer came to our house, fed them, gave them water, cleaned their litter box, played with them, and even kept a daily journal of their activities for us to read when we got home! She texted us updates on how they were doing and even sent us pics of them! She gave them catnip, played with their toys, and even played with their cat-​safe bubbles. We could not be happier with her and the peace of mind we had, knowing our babies were happy and in good hands. We have found our pet sitter!!! Highly recommend them and their services!

ONE STAR IS FAR TOO GENEROUS!!! I took my puppy here for the first time yesterday, I was told the cut was $ 45 and upgrade shampoo was $ 6 = $ 51 not $ 70!!! I took a picture of my puppies previous cuts and wanted her to look just like the picture… Well I get her and I was charged $ 70 because they claim I asked for upgrades, the only upgrade I asked for was $ 6 oatmeal shampoo. She was cut too short and her face hadn’t even been touched. The heavy set brown hair lady Sid, when I asked why the price hike, well we had to use a muzzle on her so you were charged an extra $ 10! Ummm I was told the extra $ 10 would only be charged if it took two people to hold my dog, it didn’t take anyone because they muzzled her. Hannah told me to come back in 5 hours and she would be done, I came back in 5.5 hours and when I got there she had just started on her cut! I dropped my dog off at 10:00 am and didn’t get her back until after 5:00 pm, that ridiculous! Then to top off this while «top notch» experience, I get home with my dog and she’s limping very badly, I look at her foot and its bleeding from being cut by the groomer. I had to take her to the vet and endure that cost as well, now my baby is hurt and has a bad hair cut. I don’t mind paying the $ 51 but $ 70; the fact the lady didn’t even tell me until after she ran my card and then proceeded to tell me that I got what I asked for, but that’s not true at all because I didn’t!!! I will not recommend this grooming place to anyone.
Update: The owner called me and basically that said that she doesn’t want my dog back into the salon because I complained about the cut of my dog. She goes on to state that the cut was what I asked for, when in fact it was not. Her head was not even cut and her nails still need cutting. Personally I feel like this business should not even be open or needs another owner who actually cares about their customers. The owner of course took her staffs side. When all I wanted was for her to fix my dogs face. DO NOT GO TO THIS GROOMER!!!

After getting a less than stellar haircut at a previous groomer I hit Unilocal-​land to do some research. I was tempted by several other groomers but finally we decided on this place.
Making an appointment was easy, I sent an email and a few hours later I received a courteous and informative reply. I immediately booked an appointment.
We have a giant schnoodle and weren’t sure what kind of cut to give him. He has beautiful curly hair and we wanted to let him keep a bit of length with it. At the same time we didn’t want to pay what we were quoted and him not be truly groomed. I didn’t really need to worry… they understood exactly what we wanted and our boy came out looking fantastic. He is a 60 pound, mouthy puppy but they were patient with him and he seemed happy when we picked him up.
Our second trip was more of the same great service and this time we opted to give him a schnauzer styled cut and again he came out looking and smelling great.
The gals here know what they are doing and seem to really truly enjoy working with the animals in their care.
We have found our go-​to groomers!

Hands down, a great place to take your pet (s)! Cats or Dogs, their services seem almost unlimited. And, most importantly, the owner and staff are not only very professional and well-​trained, but they are always friendly, prompt, and offer more than affordable prices. Another thing I’ve noticed every single time I’m there, is that the place is always kept Clean. Great Staff and Great Pet Spa. I cannot recommend this place enough!

My dog is a huge Alaskan Malamute/​German Shepherd and for whatever reason his undercoat just would not come out this year, like it was stuck. He’s 13 and arthritic, being that he’s never been formally groomed before I was really concerned about how this would go down. I called several different places and decided on Top Notch after I spoke to a couple of different people who were all very patient and took the time to explain to me how a proper groom worked (I just assumed if I wanted him shaved it would be an hour with an electric razor sort of deal). Anyway, they talked me out of shaving him because they said he could sunburn and I’m so glad they did. I just wasn’t convinced they would be able to remove that amount of fur! I know people talk about «how their dogs shed so much!» but you’ve never seen anything like this. I didn’t get the opportunity to meet Andrew, who groomed my dog but I would have hugged him and I’ll definitely ask for him next time. My dad picked up my dog from Top Notch and now wants to bring his dog (full Alaskan Malamute) back next week.

My wife and got the sense that other generic pet-​store groomers were too rough on the dog and we noticed the dog was fearful of going there. In comparison, now that we’ve been coming to this groomer regularly, the dog is excited to go and extremely happy when we pick her up. It doesn’t cost that much more than the pet-​store groomer and they have much more experienced/​caring staff.

I cannot recommend everyone here more highly!
We used to use «big box» grooming options for our older dog and our current one, though we ended up doing the vet for our senior dog (before putting him down). In California it was spotty, but every time we took a dog to a «big box» option here in NC they came home scared and once, came home INJURED.
In comparison, our current dog ALWAYS loves going to see the staff at Top Notch, and always looks incredibly happy when we pick her up! They are responsive when we ask about appointments, and have fit us in last minute when we only had one day where we could get in and the dog needed to be groomed.
If anyone asks, this is the first place I’d think of — it’s about the same price as the «big box» option and the service is, of course, Top Notch.

This place is amazing. We have tried 6 different groomers in the area after moving from California and these guys are by far the best and most reasonably priced. We take our yorkie and German Shepard both here and no nicks, free to roam about and most importantly NO NICKs — drives me nuts picking up our animals and see razor cuts on them or places they «oopsed» with the blade.

Top Notch Pet Spa is the best! I have been bringing my Pembroke Corgi here for the last several months for grooming and he always comes out looking perfect. I’ve tried multiple groomers in the area and Jennifer and Kristina do the best job.
I also use their dog walking and pet sitting services on a regular basis. They have reasonable prices and my corgi is always well cared for and receives lots of love from Vanessa when I am away. He does much better at home when Vanessa comes to see him than if I take him for boarding.
It is great to finally have these services in such a convenient location!

Brought both of my standard poodles here and the groomer did such a great job. Dogs were done as requested and the nice touch of bows were put on their ears. Overall cost for two standard poodles was cheaper than many of the places in the Triangle. They were also great about scheduling and accommodating us, as several other places (at the time) were booked through January. I was also impressed that they cleaned /​stripped the ears and did a great job on the toenails as well. This is a great example of how great service and workmanship can be reasonably priced and convenient. Keep up the great work!

The staff is truly dog friendly, and understands that our furry babies are stressed out while under their care. They gave me a full report on how my dog’s day had been, explaining her behavior and reactions and followed with a suggestion to minimize her discomfort for the next session. My shih-​tzu came home clean, with all important spots trimmed and combed out perfectly — even her signature top knot was just right. I loved the pens they use to hold the dogs between stations. Overall, couldn’t be happier!

We love Top Notch Pet Spa! Our dog is not very fond of being groomed, and we’ve had some bad experiences at other places in the past. The ladies at Top Notch Pet Spa are by far the best groomers we’ve ever been too. They take great care of our dog, paying special attention to his needs and dislikes. I love that they don’t use kennels/​cages to hold the dogs. Instead they have nice, spacious, and comfortable spaces for the dogs to stay in. When we call to schedule, they know exactly who we are and who our dog is. When we pick up our dog, he always looks great — he’s cut exactly how we wanted, and evenly (we’ve had some choppy/​uneven cuts in the past). Top Notch Pet Spa definitely goes the extra mile, and we appreciate it so much!
