The Salvation Army Family Store and Donation Center

Lots of older clothes fill the store 10 – 15 years ago. Look s like they accept anything just to keep the store from being empty. The items that are of value are slightly overpriced. They have started to individually price clothing which cuts down on deals and steals. The staff is friendly and the store feels relatively clean.

They staple tags right onto the front of the clothing. A lot of the clothing gets ruined because of this. Better ask them to remove the staple before you buy it, because there are no returns, so if you get it home and find out that it’s damaged, it’s your tough luck.
The manager, «Mr Harold» is very unfriendly, and that’s just another reason to avoid this store.

The gps location is wrong… keep driving straight after you cross 70 and you will see a big sign on the right. It’s hard to miss.
Everything in this place was wrong wrong wrong. I don’t know why there were so many people shopping here but it was awful.
I wouldn’t reccomend coming here– unless you are looking for something that requires a lot of refinishing this is not the place for you.

As a family thrift store, Salvation Army is a pretty solid middle of the road kind of place. With home décor items, furniture, and some appliances, they have a good mix of things, but like most places, it can be seasonal as to availability. Clothes are sorted by item and then by color and size, and men’s and children’s clothes are each in their own area. The clothing sections are larger than most other thrift stores and run the range from casual to dressy. Every so often, you’ll see something for a few bucks that you’re sure is worth far more. You can feel good shopping here knowing the proceeds from the store are used to help Wake County residents with food, clothing, shelter and other outreach programs.
Admittedly, I do not often frequent the SA family thrift stores, but primarily stop by this location to drop off donations. Without question, the staff has invariably been helpful, polite and accommodating whenever something has been too big to easily lift and place in the wheeled bins provided to help move things from the car to the dock. Unlike some places, SA doesn’t seem to be as concerned that the donation be no more than a year or two old (with some exceptions, such as tvs, printers and baby furniture), as long as it’s still in good condition, wearable or usable. That’s a nice thing if you have items not the latest trend, but still in good shape and for that reason, can’t bring yourself to throw them out.

I must admit this is the first Salvation Army that I didn’t walk out with a ton of jewels!
Not sure what’s going on in Raleigh, does anyone where anything other than Walmart brand clothing? Augh!
Shoes plenty for old ladies, sweaters from the 80s and not much latest trend clothing… if you are dressing up for some weird costume party the best place to go… no gems found here!
Oh my I came across some original Montgomery Wards and Sears labels… the south… still the south… left behind!
Wait if you are looking for a collection of Spode dishes… they have them for almost $ 500.00. They do understand when they get the latest gems… they capitalize… in a BIG FAT way that is!
