The practice was founded by Dr. Scott A. Hum in 1992. Dr. Hum is a Board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is also board certified by the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Hum has served the specialty as President of the North Carolina Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Hum is on the staff of UNC/​Rex Healthcare and is also a clinical instructor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. History

Established in 1992.

The practice was opened by Dr. Scott A. Hum in the fall of 1992 at the 2500 Blue Ridge location. We have provided Oral & Maxillofacial surgical services to the citizens of Wake County for the past twenty plus years. Our philosophy continues to be «Excellence in patient care and serviced in a personalized and compassionate atmosphere».

Business Owner

Dr. Hum earned his dental degree at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed a General Practice Dental Residency at the North Carolina Memorial Hospital/​University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Hum received his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Hum also completed his Master’s Thesis at the Ohio State University. Dr. Hum completed his Board certification in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1994. He has been re-​certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 2004 and 2014. Dr. Hum is married to Melanie and they have three daughters.
