PNC Arena

A great arena with great fans, great staff, and absolutely awful prices. The only way to keep it cheap is to walk (the lot prices there are ridiculous) and pre-​game. It’s hard to resist beer and a pretzel at a hockey game, but at PNC your beer alone will cost you $ 10 — and that’s the cheap stuff. I’ll keep going because I love the games, but I’m gonna save myself some money and fill up on food and drinks before I go.

Pretty decent arena. The thing that brings it down is the lack of support that is shown for the Hurricanes. I mean they rank last in NHL attendance this year and it shows. I mean I go to an AHL affiliate near me and they draw about a 1,000 than this NHL arena. Other than that the experience was good and seats were good

1÷16÷2016 The World’s Toughest Rodeo. The rodeo was a good time. There was music (Hip Hop, Pop, Country, and Rock), comedy and the show that the Cowboys, Bulls, and Horses put on was really exciting to watch. I recommend checking out The World’s Toughest Rodeo if they come back to the area. My wife and I went just to have something to do and it turns out it was a pretty good time. For the price its good for date night or taking the whole family.

I just love going to the PNC Arena. I am a huge NC State Fan and love going to the games. You can see the court from any seat, including the nose bleed section. There is a wide variety of food venues to choose from, but don’t expect it to be cheap. You can also walk around the stadium before the game or at half time if you want to get a little exercise.

I came to the game and never left my seat because the servers brought me food and drinks. The view was great and everyone at the game was friendly and helpful!

A fun filled night at Disney on Ice at PNC Arena! Organized parking but be prepared to pay $ 15 per car. Even more expensive is concessions but I don’t know if that is Disney specific or PNC’s price point.
The staff. from Ticketing, security, to ushers were friendly. We had a great view from our seats and appreciated the production put on by Disney on Ice.

I have attended numerous events at the PNC Arena (previously RBC Center), including Carolina Hurricanes games, NC State Basketball games, the Circus, Cirque du Soleil and concerts with my favorite being Katy Perry. I do not think that there is a bad seat in the arena, I do prefer aisle seats though since walking in front of people to get to your seat can be a pain.
I recommend eating before since the food is overpriced but sometimes nothing can beat a hot dog at your favorite event. The beer is also expensive but that is going to be at any event and they have great local craft beer options so I can’t complain! When I attend the Carolina Hurricanes games, I head straight over to the Aviator stand for a Devil’s Tramping Ground.
My biggest complaint is the parking, depending on the event that you attend parking can range from $ 10 to $ 20!
Fun fact: It takes between 2.5 and 6 hours to transform the arena from hockey to basketball, I think that would be neat to watch.

Ok so– I’m a huge NY Rangers fan and I would have loved to see them play here on this particular night but unfortunately the week I was visiting a friend in NC– I could only get tickets to see the NJ Devils booo!
Anyway, I figured I’d go and this ONE time root for the Hurricanes. Can’t stand the Devils hehe. Anyway overall– I did like the arena! It was pretty clean and the people are friendly– however it is no MSG. I guess I’m spoiled because I’m so used to NYC. Well one thing that certainly does not differ from MSG is the drink prices! Ouch. Most things in NC are way cheaper than what I can find in NYC but not at this place. They bang you over the head for that and are pretty stingy with the alcohol– much like MSG.
I also got a kids hamburger which was not even worth taking a photo of and sharing it here lol It was pretty hard and tasteless. It didn’t even come with a slice of tomato or lettuce. Just a hard patty on a hard bun– bleh. But that wasn’t the main reason I came here– I came to watch some hockey! The arena is pretty small actually which is fine– but the one thing that really bugged me was the lack of support for the Carolina Hurricanes. Come on people?! Worst crowd ever and I mean that in the sense that nobody has any team spirit! I think the few Devils fans that were there were making more noise for their team than the rest of the arena for the Canes! It was very disappointing. Not to mention I paid 138 for seats 4 rows from the glass — which were amazing seats btw-​and most of the arena was empty the entire game!
I thought maybe by the second period more people would come but nope. Empty seats everywhere. I just wasn’t feeling the whole atmosphere of how exciting a hockey game is supposed to be :-/​NC hockey fans– get your acts together and go support your team! No wonder they got their butts kicked royally with a 5 – 1 loss. Sad sad. Poor Canes :-(
On the up side– I think it’s cute that they have guys and girls around the arena acting as «cheerleaders» to try and get the crowd going. And! I totally loved the parachute tee shirt drops! So cute! :-) Next time I plan to get seats just as good to see MY boys play there! I’d be in heaven! So overall experience was «ok.»

Great experience for our Canes games a few days ago. It also didn’t hurt that they won! Parking was easy, except $ 15. Ticket tellers and the ones who tell you where your seat is were all real friendly and helpful. Seats were comfortable and stadium was clean. Restrooms were plentiful and also clean. We bought one sausage sandwich from the concession and it was delicious. Prices comparable with other stadiums. All in all a great time in a great arena. We will certainly come back for other games. Great venue and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. I’ve been there for several concerts, a hockey game and most recently for a NC state basketball game.
I’ve always enjoyed everything EXCEPT the absolute rip off at the concession stands. You expect to pay movie theater pricing at an arena like this but $ 5 for a bottle of water and $ 6 for a handful of nachos is a bit much. The concession stands put a bad taste in your mouth and I rethink attending events based on the horrific pricing.

Pnc arena is a great place to watch anything you care to see. I have seen hockey games, concerts and a bunch of college basketball games. Every time I have been here they have done a good job getting me in and out of the parking lots without too much trouble. The events have all been run without any problems that I noticed. The arena hosts the Carolina Hurricanes. Nc state Wolfpack and a large selection of concerts.
I have been watching shows here for six plus years and I plan to continue for the near future. Some people I have spoken to say that they would rather see a game to TV but I think there is nothing better than watching the game in person.

Clean, well organized parking and lots of bathrooms before you even go inside! The building its self is massive! (And clean) We went for a hurricanes game and were surprised with how high our seats were but pleasantly surprised with the view! This won’t be our last hockey game! The food was very good there, but very very over priced!

The good — it is clean and the amenities are comfortable. The bathrooms are good with working hands free water and towels and numerous toilets. It’s a good place to take in a hockey game. Concerts aren’t bad either but very crowded. If you can handle the traffic it isn’t too bad. Marketplace 314 is the best place to eat — friendly folks and good food for a decent price. The budweiser seating area in the 3^rd concourse is a nice place to enjoy a (watered down) beer. Please do more of the mime cam and the Lion King cam. I’ve never had a bad employee experience here and have always felt welcomed. The Caniac Coach is awesome!!!
The bad — parking fees are ridiculous.
The ugly — The know-​it-​all fans and their obnoxious children. First, the drunk parents who are more interested in drinking than parenting. And then their kids who run a mock and the parents laugh like
it’s cute.

Have to say one of better arenas to watch a game at. The staff was pretty darn amazing. That great southern charm really came out. Helpful even though mast majority of the fans where not Cane fans. Food choices where plentiful. Just your typical though taste to them nothing that you would swear you got to have next time you go there.
The big reason for the four stars is getting out of the parking lot and the traffic control. Very poorly lite and the officers really should be wearing something reflective. Few almost got hit steeping into traffic from the side with only a rolling pin size light well dressed in black. Think safety first would be my thought while doing traffic control.
All and all great place to see a hockey game.

Came here to see my beloved Chicago Blackhawks vs the Canes. Coming alone, I didn’t know what to expect even though I had two tickets and couldn’t sell the other one, which I ate. Thankfully my fellow Chicago Blackhawks fans travel probably the best in the NHL and I met so many super cool mostly Ex-​Chicagoans who really love the Blackhawks! In fact, I’d say it was probably 70 percent to 30 percent Blackhawks to Canes fans!
But getting back to the arena… Overall this is a very nice, modern arena with many food and drink options, but like all arenas, they all seem quite expensive. I mean what else do you expect? However, they did offer some really good local craft beers, and some really good looking sandwiches like this humongous Italian sausage monstrosity that looked super great, however, I wasn’t hungry at all as I ate across the street at the backyard Bistro Bar, which was freaking awesome! See my review for that bad boy!
The arena was laid out quite well, very easy to find your seats, super nice staff which made you feel welcomed, and actually the hurricane fans were all very nice, all 25 of them! Hahahahaha! Okay, there may have been more than 25, but I’m serious in that at least 70% of the fans there were all Chicago Blackhawks fans! So I felt like this was a Blackhawks home game!
I read other Unilocalers reviews and many of them were disappointed with a $ 15 parking charge. Well let me tell you that $ 15 is very, very cheap today compared to other arenas! But what I did was park across the street at the Backyard Bistro & Bar for only $ 10. I mean, it’s like a five minute walk up the hill to the PNC arena. You may want to give this an option to have a few drinks before the game and save yourself five dollars in the process.
While in this Unilocalers opinion, PNC arena is certainly no United Center, it is a very nice arena and will make whatever venue you are watching enjoyable!

This arena is awesome! Though I wish the food and beverage prices were a little cheaper, I only have a good things to say about this venue! It is easy to find your seat, ushers are very helpful, and bathrooms are close and frequently placed throughout the building, I almost never have had to wait in line! I can’t wait to come back for another event!

FIRST REVIEW OF 2015!
We attended a Flyers-​Hurricanes game here on Jan 2^nd. We are huge hockey fans and are glad we’re not too far from an NHL team.
This is a great arena! It really wasn’t too crowded so we weren’t overwhelmed with too many people near us. (But my husband said the team wasn’t that good this year, which could explain why we said a lot of empty seats.)
We sat up in the nose bleed section but we actually prefer it bc you can see everything. Seats were pretty roomy and we were very impressed how clean this place was!
It was easy to get to, right off of I-​40. And not «that» far of a drive from Winston. Parking was $ 15 but if you don’t mind a short walk, you could park down the road and save the $$. (We were running late so we said screw it and paid the $ 15.) Getting out after the game was quick and easy.
Concessions: we only got a popcorn ($ 6) and 2 waters ($ 4.50 each). We resisted having beer (New Year’s Resolution.) It was tough bc beer and hockey go together so wonderfully!!! But it looked like they had a good variety and a large draft was about $ 10.
We had a great time here and look forward to attending more games this season!!!

Lets cut to the chase, the only thing keeping this from being a 5-​star review is the parking.
$ 15 – 20 for event parking seems… high. Or at least it seems high for the area.
Otherwise, the facilities are great. Foothills Brewing has it’s own concession area with awesome craft brews. The view from the seats are generally very good.
Well, I do have one other quibble, if you’re taller than 5’5, your knees are going to hate you after a few minutes in the common-​folks seats.
The folks that work here, from security on up, are usually very polite and helpful.

Okay, don’t hate me. When I come here, I’m never cheering for the Hurricanes. I only make the trip to Raleigh when Pittsburgh is in town. Go Pens!
For our latest adventure here, we scored great seats that included a server. Six beers, please. The bar also had Fireball. Holy.
Now let me tell you about the best part of this place: my friend Sarah may have had a Fireball or two too many. As a result, she lost her phone. Such a terrible feeling. She called PNC the next morning at 8am. Not only was there a person there answering the phones, he also had her celly. He told her to come on over and pick it up. Super nice. Sarah is now in love with Raleigh.
Coming in from out of town? I recommend Hyatt Place. Clean, big rooms, reasonably priced and a 5 minute cab ride away. They also have free breakfast.
