Terrible customer service & cheap products to boat! I used a coupon code on my purchase two days later before the item even shipped I was sent a promotion for a larger discount. I called in to get the larger discount and they refused to apply it! What retailer does that within 30 days??? The product I ended up buying was complete garbage and I ended up returning it. Beware of their reviews online, guessing they are fake because there is no way what I bought was anywhere near a true 4 ½ star rating!!!

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE because they don’t care about their customers. I ordered a hearth rug and the next day, they put the item on sale. Then, they extended their ‘one-​day-​sale’ for two more days.
1 They wouldn’t allow me to cancel the order (well I could, but I’d incur a restocking fee, even without receiving it)
2 The first thing they did was quote their FINE PRINT … oh, it’s OK for THEM to change the rules and extend the sale, but no flexibility for the customer when it come to giving a customer a refund when they purchased one day early.
3 There wasn’t any ‘help’ on how they could make this right. Just quoting the fine print, again. They should have at least given a store credit for the amount … in this case $ 25. In order to use that credit I would have had to pay even more money to get something of value to me, but they wouldn’t even consider doing that.
4 It’s obvious they only care about the almighty dollar and not the customer. I hope more people read their reviews before purchasing. I didn’t and wish that I had!
HORRIBLE COMPANY with a really bad culture and lack of customer focused management.

After placing an order with a customer service rep, I wanted to confirm delivery timeframe because the order was a birthday present. She stated 1 –2 weeks, just as the online catalog stated. Approximately a week later, I called back because I found it odd I did not receive an email nor was able to track the shipment myself through their website because the original cs rep mispelled my name… no biggie. But, the items I was told did not ship yet because they were coming directly from the manufacturer, but not to worry they would still arrive within the stated 1 to 2 weeks delivery time. I called back on day 15 (still unable to track the shipment myself), and this customer service rep told me that the item just shipped yesterday and is in Pennsylvania (mind you, I live in Arizona) and the day it shipped was the day after it was supposed to arrive at my house. When I asked of there was a way to contact UPS and expedite it, the cs rep said no. When asked what my recourse was now that the present will jot be here in time, I was told all I could do was refuse the shipment. There was no attempt at service recovery, expedited shipping, or refunds at this time. I did let the cs rep know that I would no longer be conducting business with them, and filed a complaint with the BBB. I ordered 20 days before the bday party, was told twice that it would be here within 1 to 2 weeks, and still nothing.

I will absolutely NEVER order another item from this company. On my first order, I ordered two outdoor chair cushions and two matching outdoor chair pillows. I received an email notifying me that the chair cushions were no longer available. No sorry, no requests on handle my remaining order nothing. I email back and asked to cancel the pillows (since the cushions weren’t available I had no need for the pillows). They responded and said no problem, but there would be a return fee! I couldn’t believe this, I had already explained they were ordered as a SET! I ended up calling customer service (another terrible experience), but I did finally get them to concede to allow me to return the pillows for no charge and they would refund me entirely. All I needed to do was refuse the USP delivery, well you can’t refuse a delivery that is left at your door and the UPS store won’t send it back from their store without a return shipping label. I contacted customer service via email again, and I was told they had NO document of my call to customer service. At this point I have no resolution, but I’ll NEVER use this company again and I suggest NO ONE else ever does!

Ordered two copper cups together with express delivery. First complaint order was delayed a week. Second complaint when the order came only one of the cups was delivered. Third complaint talked to customer service and they said oh we will ship the other one on Thursday, sorry about that, and comped the delivery charge. If I would have known it was going to take two freakin weeks for the delivery to come in I never would of ordered the damn things. Which were supposed to be here for my aunt’s birthdayand why I did the express delivery. Now she has been waiting two weeks for her birthday present. Will never do business with this company again.

Terrible customer service. After ordering an item, I was notified that it was back ordered. No problem. Once that date had come and gone, I received no communication about a further delay. Only after I contacted the company was I told the item was delayed (yet again). Once the item arrived, it was missing a key part. I contacted the company and was told that: 1) it was up to me to return the item before they would do anything; 2) they would send a replacement only once they received the original item (further delay); and, 3) they do not offer expedited shipping for a replacement.
Rather than say, «we screwed up, how can we fix it?» It was, «send it back and we’ll send you another one no sooner than the first one and hope that it works out.» Guess what? GOODBYE. I am returning it for a full refund and asked them to remove me from their catalog list. They lost a customer today. My advice: order it elsewhere.

I have bought 2 sets of solar path lights from this company. Both have failed just beyond their so-​called 12 month warranty. These lights were very expensive (ie. over $ 150). Their customer service people are inflexible. I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT NO ONE DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT REPUTABLE !!!

This review concerns online ordering. I will not and refuse to do any business with Plow and Hearth again. They messed up my order twice. And their only advice to me was to call their customer service number which meant that I’d have to repeat everything that I told this lady, Jennifer Schifflett, to another person and order a third time. The first order I got sent the wrong item but the color was correct. So I thought it was an honest mistake. On my second order, I specifically filled out the exchange information on their return slip for the correct item. I personally think this company makes a scam through their shipping and handling fees.
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. NEVER AGAIN. If this is how you treat your customers, I’ll take my business elsewhere. LL Bean, I’m coming back.

Very disappointing! Purchases were cheap replicas and quite different than what was pictured in the catalog. There was no mention of the delayed time that would be involved when I purchased one item. Weeks and weeks! Not too difficult to put a picture together on this one. Maybe purchasing in a store would be better so you can see what you are getting, but I send caution for catalog purchases.

Wish there were an option for 0 or minus 0. They are extremely misleading and have poor customer service. I tried to order 2 of a small item using their «free shipping on everything no minimum or free shipping on everything over $ 49» and I go into Paypal to pay (the only way to finally get to the promotion code page) and it will not let me put in the code; customer service said they’d do it and it didn’t work for them so they said it must not be eligible, no reason why; we’re not talking couches here, maybe 4 pounds or less for each item. This has happened repeatedly, no matter what «the promotion» and I’ve wasted a lot of time. They are misleading and I feel dishonest with non-​existent customer service; I sent an Email to them on their website but of course no answer. Let me state that I purchase on-​line all the time and have NEVER had an experience remotely like this company, I never have to complain about other companies.

THIS REVIEW PERTAINS TO THE WEBSITE SERVICE ONLY:
I ordered a pair of UGGs off their website and the site was offering 25% off any order $ 100+ so I got a discount. The total was $ 124.96 with no shipping and tax. I then remembered that I did not order any UGG insoles, so I emailed to customer service asking for it to be included with my order. The insoles were 14.95, so I expected my order to be around $ 140. Well, they ended up charging me $ 156 and when I questioned why, they said they charged me shipping of $ 19.99. When I asked to be credited the shipping charge since the previous total had no shipping charges for UGGs, then then replied that the discount code should not have worked for UGG shoes, and that they are now yanking the discount and I would have to pay the FULL price of the shoes PLUS the 19.99 shipping. Then I called customer service to speak live to a person regarding this issue, they said that the shoes are NOW «no longer available».
I’ve never ran into this situation before and can only conclude one thing:
*** They realized their mistake on the website and instead of honoring the price, they yanked the discount and then made the product «unavailable». The product still is on their site still showing that it is available.*****
This is VERY POOR customer service and I am appalled that this big of a company treat customers this way. FORGET THEM!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEIR WEBSITE!!! THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT WORTH SAVING A COUPLE OF DOLLARS.

Worst customer service ever!!! I was the only customer in the store inquiring about the sale on the folding rocking chairs. Not only did the sales rep could not give me simple answers about the conclusion of the sale or if available on line, she didn’t bother trying to find out. I was planning on purchasing four (must not work off commission). However she brought one box out with an attititude. There was a store made tag that said 4 chairs for $ 175 dollars taped to the chair I wanted to purchase. I questioned the lady about the price she was charging. I walked her to the tag and she couldn’t figure it out either. Back at the register (she took the tag with her), she tells me it’s wrong and just stares at me blankly. I work in retail, and I have to honor a mis-​posted price… false advertisement right? I asked and she told me no. I thanked her for her time and as I was leaving she practically laughed in my face! There will be calls about this customer service to the company’s office.

Ordered item 5 days before Christmas as a present. Now Jan 5^th and still dont have it. Said it shipped Dec 28^th, Horrible company

Absolutely horrible company. I received a gift certificate from them for screwing up my 1^st order with them which came in a completely torn up, open box. The merchandise was the wrong color and missing legs, they sent me a replacement which was damaged. It then took me a week to get UPS to pick it up. So I used the certificate to purchase something else… I selected expedited shipping ($ 18). Placed my order Nov. 16^th… expedited shipping didn’t go out until the 19^th and it is now November 29^th & there’s no sign of my order, even though the tracking says it was delivered on the 26^th. HORRIBLE.

The staff at this location are superb. I was looking to get a fireplace cover that I saw in the catalog and the manager was not able to find information on it when I asked. She gave me a call back as soon as she found information out and special ordered the item once the warehouse sorted out its issues. She made sure to check up on me and notified me that it was coming soon and when it was available at the store. The store even honored my coupon that was expired because of the delay.
The store itself has a very homey feel, though it is a little crowded. While the prices are a little higher, there are very unique items and the items are all high quality.

Staff was nice but the store environment is a cluster! Catalog is much better than the store.

Not being Susie Homemaker, I’m not your typical patron of a store like Plow & Hearth. Heck, I won’t grace the doors of Bed Bath & Beyond without one of their coveted 20% off coupons. But my sister wanted to check it out on a leisurely traipse through North Hills, so in I went…
There’s a hodge-​podge of «home» things here: stuff for the kitchen, garden, cooking, grilling, etc. On my first visit, I saw the coolest (but pricey) fruit infusion pitcher which I didn’t buy. It’s this cool water pitcher with a central cylinder you can fill with fresh cut fruit and voila — flavored water! They finally got some more in, and yesterday I bought the model off the table (sold out again!).
We found great small gifts for the holidays in here, and they have a nice-​size «Life Is Good» apparel section.
Be forewarned: you can find some really neat stuff here, but this store is pricey.

This is not the sort of shop you’d usually find me in (as proven by my opting out of the mailing list at the register), but my mom’s birthday is swift approaching, and I’ve been on the hunt for something inspired. Lately, she’s been into gardening, so I stepped in here to give it a shot. The left-​hand side offers «plow» and the right-​hand side offers «hearth». For gardening, they stock everything from seeds, bird feeders and baths, and spades; plus outdoor stuff for the patio. The other side had items like pillows and bench cushions. I left with a pink gardening kit whose proceeds go to help breast cancer research and some forget-​me-​nots.

Plow & Hearth is okay. The stock is mostly garden and patio related, with some home décor and furnishings. I guess I have 2 issues with this store, the selection is sort of unimaginative and beyond that, the prices are really not competitive compared to what you can find at even high-​end places like Restoration or Pottery Barn. The store itself is nicely arranged and it is a pleasant place to mill around whilst in North Hills.

Plow & Hearth largely sells through catalogs, but this is one of their physical locations. The merchandise seems to be of high quality, and it is nice to see and touch things before you buy them. The store does not even come close to carrying everything that the catalog has, though. The sales clerk who helped us went out of her way to assist us. I would rate the service as excellent. The stock is both home décor and garden accessories. We’ll definitely go back.
