Paws in Training was originally established in Florida and moved to the Triangle area in 2009.

Paws in Training is owned and operated by Angel Wasserman, professional dog trainer, certified canine behavior consultant and FEMA certified, emergency animal rescue volunteer. Angel is also the author of Woof it Up! Guide To Happy Dogs & Happy Owners which published in 2012.

Paws in Training is neither a franchise nor a huge conglomerate. They are a small group of animal care providers who seek to make a difference in the lives of dogs and their people.

Wow … Angel did wonders for our terrier who was having problems using the restroom on our very expensive furniture. After carefully inspecting each room with a black light to find the urine areas
and treat it she then pinpointed our dogs behavior and reasons why our dog was using the restroom even though she has a doggy door. She then gave us very specific rules to follow for 4 weeks. She is worth every penny and did not waste a minute of my time. She even let our dog keep a toy of hers — in general she was an extremely compassionate and caring person. Use her you will NOT regret it.

Angel is awesome. I enrolled Esme into her basic obedience class. Angel has that energy which dogs really respond to and knows what is causing certain behaviors and how to change them. And she is able to teach the humans how to interact better with their dogs. In addition to taking a training class, Angel worked with Esme and her extreme hatred of the windshield wipers.
I can say that Angel saved Esme’s life with her training. Last night I came out of a gas station, opened my door to get in and Esme rocketed out of the car chasing a motorcycle. I yelled her name, and it didn’t register. I then yelled the recall word that Angel taught us. I hopped up and down to make it look like I was having fun. Esme by now is inches from charging after the bike onto Tryon Road on rush hour. Esme hears that word, turned around and ran back to me.
I believe that training your dog well is an investment in your future together. And thanks to Angel’s training, Esme and my future didn’t end last night on Tryon Road.

Angel is amazing. I adopted an older dog that had a very hard time getting her to behave. Angel was our saving grace. She taught me the basics on dealing with my dogs behavior. She spent the majority IV our private session working with my «bad» behaviors in order to help my dog. She is a seasoned veteran and is passionate about dogs. My rescue had major issues and she supported me through them. Angel is worth every penny!!!

My pup and I took the obedience class about year and half ago. Angel was a fantastic trainer and teacher. My pup really liked her and the class. To this day, when we go to Unleashed (where the class was held) my pup goes right to the class room area looking for Angel and his class mates!
