Good food. Tried them because i was new to the area and they had good reviews. Had stromboli and wings. Great wings. Stromboli was good… very greasy but what can you expect. Very slow delivery though. Very slow. I will only do pick up unless i order before i get hungry. But will definitely go again.

Best pizza in town! Just got takeout tonight and the whole family loved it! Will become our new pizza place. We tried the spinach speciality pizza and the plain cheese.

Okay so my wife and I are here in Raleigh for a visit to relocate. It was a long day and we didn’t want to go out again so we thought we’d look for a local pizza place that delivered.
I found Max’s Pizza & Grill via a local Google search, and I placed an order to be delivered to the hotel we are staying in, and after a major hiccup which led to a late delivery of our order we finally were able to eat.
I’ll admit that being from NY, we’re kinda «pizza snobs» but despite the pizza coming late and having to re-​heat it… it was delicious! I don’t think my wife and I are going to be settling here in Raleigh, but if we were to, Max’s would be my go to place for great pizza.
And they have an extensive menu featuring other items that my wife and I would be trying out. Thanks again to Max’s for their pizza and their service, and a big thank you to their delivery driver who eventually got our order to us.

I absolutely love this place! They are so welcoming. The pizza and wings are great. I would recommend their lunch special– and they have a few of them. Come and check them out!

We absolutely love this place! The quality of the pizza blow away almost every other place around, and their prices are reasonable. It is our first choice. The only downside is that they are closed on Sunday.

Love Max’s! We’ve been coming here for years and are never disappointed. The quality is perfect and always consistent. The price is competitive and the ingredients the best.

The hot subs like steak and cheese as well as chickensteak and cheese are absolutely amazing and great deals for the money. Gyro is great too imo. Pizza is most definitely classic NYC style, I’m not sure what the other reviewer is imagining. I grew up in Jersey with plenty of authentic pizza joints around and went to the city often. If you’re a northerner and want some nostalgia it’s a great place. Wings are a good deal, I haven’t tried pasta dishes, and the cold subs tried are okay. Max seems like a really dedicated hard working guy, and his family/​staff are always nice

Best steak and cheese sandwich in Raleigh!
When my wife first came here a few years ago (when we moved across the street from Maxx’s) she asked the employee what their best item was. She expected them to recommend a pizza but they said the steak and cheese sandwich was their best item. Get you one!

Just moved to this side of town. I ordered the steak and garlic pizza with cheesy breadsticks. They predicted the wait for delivery at 45 – 60 minutes. The pizza arrived within that timeframe and as hot as it would be if it just left the oven. The taste was awesome. This pie was like a philly cheese steak and I will definitely order it again. The bread was also tasty. No complaints!

0 stars if I could. I JUST moved here from across the country. Pizza was wrong. I ordered the Spinach pizza add chicken and they left off mushroom. Called next day as they were closed for nite. The woman who took the order last night answered. She INSISTED there were mushrooms on teh Pizza and she said she remembered my order perfectly and it was a Spinach ass Chicken and no tomatoes. I said well if thats the case YOU Still got it wrong because there WERE tomatoes. SHE fought and spoke over me and wouldn’t let me talk. HUNG UP ON ME. Called back and ‘Nic” another employee spoke over me as well. then he figured out they were thinking of wrong person. I will never ever go here again. If this is how people act in Raleigh, I’m in for it.

Amazing. Got the steak stromboli and the garlic and steak pizza. Absolutely delicious!

Best pizza in the area. Go there. It’s a mom and pop pizzeria thats very good. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

My husband and I just recently discovered this place and we love it! We haven’t tried their pizza yet but have ordered several subs and wraps. Delivery time is very quick and their prices are great. My favorite so far is the chicken parmegian sub, I could eat that everyday!

Since I work nearby, people are always asking me how Max’s Pizza is. It never seems to be too busy, but I’m always interested in trying out pizza places. So, I called to confirm their specials last Friday.
I was immediately told, «please hold» without a moment for me to respond and say «okay.» I waited a few minutes, during which time I thought about just hanging up. Then a girl came back and confirmed their special: 2 one topping slices and a can/​bottle drink for $ 5. Sounded great to me. They have a feature on their site that allows you to order online, which is convenient.
So a friend met me there. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage. She ordered stromboli. The teenage girl behind the counter was really sweet and another gentleman soon appeared once we’d ordered. We told them to hold my slices while they made her stromboli and made our way out to the patio. Our food came out pretty quickly. It was just OK. I can’t pinpoint any one thing that was really good or terrible about it. But, I’ve been far more impressed with the slices at other spots. It was irritating that loads of flies were bugging me, but that certainly can’t be blamed on Max’s.
While there for almost an hour, we hardly saw any other customers. This was shocking because it’s a Friday night. The other reviews seem to be all over the map. It’s a deal and it’s convenient, but there’s Gino’s around the corner which is always busy, got lots of good energy, and the pizza’s always good for only a $ 1 more for the same combo so I’ll probably head there next time. Max’s just didn’t do it for me this time.

The place smells a little funny on the inside but the food was amazing. I had a Stromboli and can honestly say it was the best I have ever had!

Had a great lunch here. Steak and cheese sub was made with great crusty bread, lots of hot steak, and yummy grilled onions. Quite liked it and look forward to trying more of their menu.

Staff was Incredibly Friendly, Helpful and Patient! None of the Italian ‘tude! Cozy place, the guests seemed to be enjoying a workday Lunch Break!

I have NEVER Been to New York and now I feel I do not need to go (for the Pizza). I imagine this to be a VERY Good NY Style Pizza and though it was not my favorite out of ALL Pizza’s, It was Fantastik for this Style AND for the price it is BEATING several in Flavor AND Price! This is a Very Good Pizza for less money!
The Sub was good in an almost 3 Unilocal star way! Italian Dressing tasted Bottled (still better than some) Onions were White and Chunky, Tomato was nice, bread and Meat were just ok.
