Master Dater Speedating and Social events is a small family-​run company, focused on delivering recession-​proof, high-​quality and fun social events to make it easier for people to make friends and maybe even meet a special someone!

History

Established in 2009.

Master Dater was founded in November of 2009. In June of 2010, Master Dater launched their first Speedating event at Raleigh hotspot, Rum Runners, and since then their fun, unique and recessive-​proof events have taken the Triangle Area by storm.

In August of 2011, Master Dater and Tomato Jakes Pizzeria in Durham teamed up to launch a Monthly Board Game Night.

In September of 2012, Master Dater and Chapel Hill’s aLoft Hotel teamed up to launch a bi-​weekly Manic Monday Bingo Night.

In February of 2013, Master Dater and Rum Runners teamed up to bring the masses Thirsty Thursday Game Night every week.

In addition to Master Daters weekly/​monthly events, Master Dater has hosted special events such as Date Auctions, Murder Mystery Parties, Costume Parties, Halloween Parties and much, much more!

Business Owner

Erin Dunphy is no stranger to the world of event organizing. She got her start in the entertainment field, working behind the scenes in Miami’s TV industry as an Associate Producer. When she decided her TV days were behind her, she moved to Raleigh and founded and organized for one of the largest Meetup​.com groups in the state. After a year of organizing, and the release of her new book about the perils and pitfalls of dating, she decided she wanted to focus on creating fun events for singles in the triangle area. In November of 2009 she created Master Dater to help fellow singles find love.
