Lorena Luca Spa & Skin Clinic

I very displease in the massage service my girlfriend had to go through. I surprised her with a 5 hour package deal from this place that was highly ranked to be very Unpleased by the massage part of the package. I paid $ 465.00 for my girlfriend to basically receive a $ 50 massage. It was horrible and seemed as the professional did not know what she was doing I was told. I called the owner to hear I was lying about this bad experience. I asked what are you going to do about this issue, she said speak to the massage therapist blah blah. She took my number and never called me back. I told her I will let it be known that what you pay for is not what you get at her spa. My girl did not even get a tour and was basically lost on where to go after she was given her white robe. They had a party of several ladies in the back where the drinks and crackers where but that area was basically blocked by them by the seating arrangement. Very horrible experience save your money, it’s not worth it. P. S the owner does not care about fixing any issues with her staff. Thanks

Don’t use this spa, ever! Their front desk staff is incompetent and they continue to charge you even after you have cancelled services. When I started going to them early in 2015, I made them aware upon booking that I was interested in having a spa membership. They failed to mark that on my file and for several months continued to charge me retail pricing for a monthly massage instead of member pricing. After that was settled, their desk staff was so unknowledgeable of their computer systems that they were unable to process adding a gratuity when I went for my monthly appointments. After getting tired of dealing with incompetent staff, I decided to cancel my membership. I knew that I would be charged for the following month as I needed to give them a 30 day notice. I used my remaining massages and left. Unfortunately, they continued to charge me for a membership. I called multiple times and was given a multitude of excuses as to why I was charged even though I had canceled. Getting anyone to call me back has been extremely difficult and they have yet to take responsibility for their mistake.

I went for the October special on Thursday of last week and had the Hot Salt Scrub with Michael, the Rezenerate facial and bikini wax with Katlyn, and the mani/​pedi special with Vivian.
The salt scrub massage was wonderful and Michael did a fantastic job! It was so relaxing and my skin felt like silk all week! :-)
Katlyn gives great facials, but I wasn’t very impressed with the results of the Rezenerate facial. At first, it looked ok, but my skin didn’t have that glow the next day that I usually get after a facial. It didn’t really do anything. I wish I had done the Pink Glow facial with all the massage instead.
My pedicure with Vivian was fine, and it was somewhat relaxing. With her being at my feet, I was able to mostly block out her constant crazy rambling. She literally talked incessantly and would just go on and on about the most mundane things. I think I heard her entire life story. Apparently she divorced and remarried her husband, so that was interesting. Lol. I tried to be polite and converse with her – though I think she would’ve talked to the wall if I hadn’t!
Up until this point, my review would have been four stars. Here’s where things took a turn and why I rated it two stars:
When it came time for my manicure, I was fairly relaxed. That is until she plopped a giant gob of ice cold hand sanitizer on my hands and arms! I told her I had just washed my hands and she responded by saying, «So you say!» How rude and insulting! Then she told me that the manicure that came with the package was really just a polish change and that she wouldn’t be doing my cuticles at all! I was already angry about the lazy antibacterial slapped on me when there was a sink right behind me! So I asked her if she could upgrade my manicure to include cuticles and she agreed and left for a few minutes to speak with the lady at the front desk. When she came back and started again however, she told me that she doesn’t trim the cuticles but just pushes them back! WTF!?! So what exactly was the purpose of me upgrading? There was no point at all! This manicure ended up costing me $ 50 and it was the absolute worst!!!
She didn’t even do a hand massage or apply cuticle oil or lotion, but managed to take an entire hour to just file and buff my nails (had to specifically request that she buff them), push back my cuticles and paint them. Oh wait — I forgot that she included a free one hour lecture/​debate on the detriments of cuticle trimming!
She was incredibly rude and didn’t soak my nails or groom my cuticles as I requested. Also, she clearly needs stronger reading glasses because she can’t see very well and in an effort to wipe polish off the cuticles when painting them, she scrapes polish off the top of the nail. So if you go to her, choose a really dark or bright color so she can see it. Otherwise, you’ll have this weird streak on the tops of all your nails. I will never go back to that mean crazy old lady for nail services!

Very nice and clean spa! Interior Design is amazing. Had a couple’s massage and it was nice. Next time I plan on the couple’s suite! Steam rooms and Sauna available in each locker room.
Just an amazing time and defiantly would recommend this place to anyone.
I’m not even from Raleigh and I’ll be back!

It’s been a couple months since my visit, but I had a great experience and somehow just forgot to Unilocal about it. I did a body scrub/​massage package and it was luxurious, comfortable, and wonderful.
The tea they have is really nice in the waiting room. There was this pumpkin flavored one and I need to find it again, because it was so flavorful and refreshing. The amenities are high-​quality. The staff is friendly.
This salon is on the pricey side, so it’s not a place I can visit all the time, but next time I wish to splurge, I’ll heavily consider returning here.

My niece and I signed up for a summer special including a 50 minute massage and mani/​pedi. We arrived early and swiftly got a tour of the very elegant and relaxing décor and space. The robes are soft and roomy as we stayed in them for the next 4 hours! Our massages were very thorough and relaxing. Love how they take the time and care with hot towels behind neck, cool towel on eyes, wrapping of feet… terrific! Then we had the most amazing mani/​pedis by Jacqueline! Both my niece and I get regular nail attention and we both agreed she is by far the best! Every toe and finger are smooth, shiny and ‘manicured ’ …plus she is ultra professional with a delightful personality and very knowledgable about the area. (My niece just moved) We did not want to leave and obviously will be back!

I’m visiting from California and my sister treated me to a massage. I love this place. I received a massage from Lea, which felt like healing and love. 50 minutes felt like 90 minutes. The amenities are wonderful. This is a cozy spa with top of the line customer service.

I cannot wait for the next time I can come back! What have I been missing out on? LOL. My husband and I did the couples spa suite for our anniversary. It was our first time getting professional massages and I think we set the bar high for ourselves.
First of all, Lorena Luca is a gorgeous facility. I loved the details in the décor, even up to the sparkling wallpaper on the staircase leading up to the spa. Everything was very clean and neat.
The robes were fluffy and comfortable. The relaxation room was not very relaxing since there was a large group of women talking and laughing loudly, but that’s okay.
The spa suite was very romantic. They had the lights dimmed with candles burning. There was soft, relaxing music playing and the room smelled great.
We started off with the hydrotherapy soak which was heavenly! The water was so warm and the jets in the whirlpool were strong enough to give you a nice massage all over. The bath salts smelled great and made the water so silky. Next was the couples massage– which I didn’t want to end. We both loved our massage therapists.
The service was excellent. I didn’t have any probably getting a reservation, and I was even called two days prior to the event to confirm my appointment. Thanks for making our first anniversary memorable!

I’ve only been to Lorena Luca once and I had a really good visit. The spa facility is really nice, clean, and has a cute girly environment. The service I got was good but what made me want to come back was the esthetician (loved her!). The problem is I couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone. I’d tried calling several times to book an appointment but no one ever answered. They have an online booking system but it didn’t list the service that I wanted. It also wasn’t user friendly if you’ve got a tight schedule need to look at multiple times. When finally got someone on the phone I made a couple of appointments for me and one for my boyfriend. I said I’d check with my boyfriend and I’d call back if he couldn’t make it. Which, when I tried calling back (several times) I never got any answer. Shame on me, I should have known being able to get a hold of them would be an issue based on calling for the last two weeks. They ended up charging my card for a no-​show policy which I get but I think I’m more disappointed at how they handled that. I called to speak to a manager and was told one wasn’t in that day, that someone would call me though. No one called me so I called back the next day and again no manager was in. However, the person I spoke to was helpful. The service that my boyfriend missed was a $ 50 special, I just wanted that applied to the normal full price service since he wasn’t able to make it during the promotional period anyway. They offered me 20% off the rescheduled service, thanks but no thanks. Keep the $ 17 and use it to hire someone else to answer the phones. I had planned on coming back to do their Lolu monthly wax and facial program but instead cancelled the 2 appointments I’d made. I won’t be back because I’m really dissatisfied by how hard it was to get in touch with anyone. It’s really a bummer because it’s otherwise very nice and across the street from my house.

I was not impressed with this Spa. My expectations was not met. I arrived 20 mins early. The receptionist seemed preoccupied, I barely got a tour of facility. My appointment was at 7pm, the Esthetician came to get me at 7:10 pm!!! Not acceptable! ! The service ended at 7:53. There was no consult. The products were not suitable for my skin type. Face felt a bit dry, the microderm treatment was not administered correctly. She did not do but one pass, it didn’t feel as though she did my entire face. She didn’t give me a blanket!!! She swaddled me with the sheet underneath me. Little did she know I am a licensed Esthetician myself! She didn’t offer water at the end or anything! !! Maybe this was an off night for her but it was not good!!! I left her a tip only because I felt that her massage was decent. She seemed rushed maybe because she was tired or it was near closing. Again, not the experience I expected. Customer Service is huge for me!!! First impression is everything. Won’t be back! MC

I came here with my husband for our anniversary. If you can afford the high prices, it’s completely worth it. This is the only spa in Raleigh that has a sauna and a steam room and amazing locker room amenities. Ambiance is soothing and relaxing and transports you to a peaceful place. Massage is great. Make sure you come an hour before your massage begins so you can enjoy the sauna and steam room and the snacks in the lounge.

Great spa, clean facilities, decent prices, convenient location!
If you aren’t able to get an appointment or don’t feel like shelling out half your paycheck at the Umstead, Lorena Luca is a perfect alternative right in Raleigh. LL is located in Cameron Village, and is a great place to go solo or with friends. I had a very thorough facial there (so good I fell asleep for a few minutes) — my skin felt so smooth and clean after. The sauna and steamroom are perfect for before or after your treatment. The staff are attentive, nice, and helpful. Highly recommend!

Cannot say enough good things. I adore this place! So, so beautiful and relaxing and incredible services. Highly recommend Maggie for a deep tissue or relaxation massage– she’s fabulous! Love the steam room & sauna, too. Overall, I’ve always had an excellent experience!

Visiting from philadelphia and Had a wonderful and relaxing spa experience at Lorena Luca! Staff was friendly, welcoming and accommodating! Hands down, best «spa» robes I have ever worn! Can’t beat their monthly service specials! Overall one of the nicest spas I’ve experienced

This place is great! The building is very clean with a relaxing environment (and really comfy robes). I received a phenomenal deep tissue massage from Emily. She was incredibly personable, asked questions about target areas of pain and stress, and was able to get some good work done on the areas that were important to me. All of the staff that I interacted with were genuinely warm and welcoming, which added to the overall quality of my experience. They treat you like royalty! The only regret I have is not getting a longer massage. I’ll definitely be back to visit Lorena Luca again!

I received a deep tissue massage from Karen — one of the best I have ever had. She listened to what I needed focus on. The ambiance and welcoming staff made my overall experience one to remember!
