We purchased a fountain at Logan’s that had a defective pump and a missing light. We discovered this after we got it home and had it placed in the yard. When we returned to Logan’s, Mr. Logan himself took care of us. They ordered a new pump and light from the manufacturer without any argument. Their customer service is great.
We also purchased plants from Logan’s rather a closer garden supply store. Their plants are bigger and nicer than the garden supply near us for the same price. They also held the plants for us until we were ready to pick them up. Their staff appear very knowledgeable about the plants they sell and are able to help you make a selection for what you need. I highly recommend Logan’s and will shop there again.

I love this place. There are so many flowers and I can walk around the nursery for hours. The best thing about this store are the soaps. There are natural Shea butter soaps in different fragrances. I spent 30 minutes sniffing soaps, lol.

Logan’s is celebrating its 50^th Anniversary this year (2015) and is the crown jewel of Seaboard Station. The company has operated out of the Historic Seaboard Rail Station building since 1991.
On my most recent visit on a Saturday in early spring, Logan’s was very busy but there were plenty of associates to help me out. During my quick visit, I was given plenty of recommendations and tips to help me with my new balcony plants. I bought some soil, a couple mint seedlings, succulents, and more. If you’re buying a lot of plants, shopping carts and cardboard trays are readily available for you. It is a little challenging to wind through the building and outdoor area with a cart, but everyone I encountered was very friendly and accommodating.
The checkout area can look like a cluster, but it actually moves very quickly because the registers are close together. Once outside, there were employees in the parking lot walking around to retrieve shopping carts. One employee was awesome enough to wait for me while I loaded up my car. That’s never happened to me at Home Depot or Lowe’s Home Improvement.
You can safely rely upon Logan’s for all of your gardening needs. Unfortunately, they aren’t open on Sunday, but they’re open till 7pm on weekdays and most of the day Saturday.

Found just what we were looking for today! Friendly, knowledgeable staff and there was even a coupon in the paper today! SCORE!
Beautiful place with a large selection. I only wish I had a garden to plant things in!

Somewhere I once read a quote along the lines of: «Plant your own garden instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.»
I am doing just that, and Logan’s is a great place to start.
A couple weeks ago I was in Hawaii and I brought a pineapple back to Raleigh, and decided to grow myself a new pineapple from the «recycled» pineapple top. I started out by putting it in water. Roots started to grow after about a week. It was time. My little pina has graduated to potting soil.
The friendly staff at Logan’s helped me find the kind of soil I needed, as well as a pretty pot in which to plant it.
I also left with some beautiful pumpkins and gourds. Pineapple doesn’t exactly scream «autumn», so I found the fall squash impossibly beautiful and appropriate for this harvest season.
I can’t wait to go back again and find more seasonal trinkets.
There is something very cheerful and uplifting about having plants/​flowers/​fruit that you have harvested yourself. Thank you, Logan Trading Company, for helping me plant my own garden and decorate my soul.

I’m not a gardener, but everyone I know who is in the Triangle swears by Logan Trading Company (seriously, folks from Wake Forest drive down to make their gardening purchases here). It’s a huge shop that’s been there forever and has a funky, eclectic feel. I myself walk through there on the way to Seaboard Café, which is located around back.
There are multiple rooms, with a lot of cute outdoor things for the non-​gardeners as well – decorations, patio furniture. And then there are a ton of plants, of course. The staff is really knowledgeable and friendly. It’s a must-​visit if you have a green-​thumb, but it’s also worth a visit if you aren’t!

I wasn’t naturally gifted with a «green thumb.» Everything I attempted to grow, either from seed or just transplants, was never successful. Then, I found Logan Trading Company.
With help from several employees, I have learned a lot about gardening over the years. Everything from vegetable and herb gardening to perennial flower beds to shrub, bushes, and trees. And I’m always learning something new. The staff at Logan Trading Company is very knowledgeable and supportive; they always make you feel as though they are eager to help.
For your urban «One Stop Garden Shop,» Logan’s also has a great selection of perennials that easily grow in the Raleigh area. Their annual selection is plentiful, too, but if you are like me, I prefer planting perennials. I definitely recommend their house brand of gardening/​potting soils as an alternative to a more commercial «Miracle Gro» type option.
In addition to the friendly staff and variety of reasonably priced home and garden products, there is also a café hidden within Logan’s: Seaboard Café. They serve fresh soups and salads, delicious and flavorsome sandwiches, and delectable baked goods such as muffins, breads, and cookies that will satisfy your taste buds. The café is the perfect addition to a Saturday afternoon spent perusing the shop.

Huge, Beautiful Cool Garden Center! Main reason for calling this place then shopping here was to get a NON– «Miracle Grow» Potting soil in a small quantity with no fertilizer… When I re-​pot a tree I’m CUTTING (not just trimming) the Roots and a Fertilizer could «burn» fresh cuts… We picked up a few other items!
My Bride and enjoyed roaming the Grounds and see this place for the first time!
Lookalota! !! !!! We were here Saturday at Lunch time… They also have a Café on their Vast Campus! Also, if you want to be Seen, you may enjoy visiting this place!
They had a few Trees in Pots (Dishes) I will not say they were «posing» as Bön Sai, ok maybe I did! This place will NOT make that list, so what this is a GREAT Place! Friendly Staff, Very FRIENDLY Staff, Glad to be Married!

A local, long-​established, family company that prides its self on customer service. They also have many things you can’t find other places. They also have a sale section of TLC (tender loving care) plants so inexpensive you don’t feel too bad if it doesn’t live. (For those of us that kill plants regularly.) Event though I’ve had good luck keeping them alive.
It’s a graet place to just wander around and look and when you’re tired of looking, there is a nice restaurant to relax at.

For shame, I’ve lived in this area for 18 yrs and I’m just now visiting Logans (thanks to a Unilocal event suggestion thank you very much). They were hosting a local artisans festival so I thought I’d check it out once and for all.
It was a MUCH smaller festival than I anticipated and the quality of wares was nothing like Artsplosure, but it was a great excuse to finally see Logans. I was surprised to see they have a cute little café serving salads and sandwiches. Most were half eaten, which begged me to question if the food was good or maybe the portions were just generous? I’m gluten-​free so I didn’t stay to try.
Inside they had local nicknacks, garden accessories, and the like. It’s like an Ace Hardware on sterroids with a Pottery Barn twist. Yup, I think that about covers it. I didn’t check prices, because admittedly the green thumb stopped at my mom.

Have you ever been to a garden store where no one knew anything? This ain’t the place. Every employee seems to know everything about every product and plant. Calling the employees helpful is putting it mildly. Seriously, Logan’s has the best customer service in town.
I love that they have Saturday classes from basic gardening to canning your produce. How awesome is that?

Urban «One Stop Garden Shop»
When I moved into a condo in downtown Raleigh, I traded in my 1 ½ acres of gardens, flower beds, and large expanses of green lawn for a tiny balcony with 2 large flower pots. So now that I live in the urban center of Raleigh, where did I go locally to find pretty colors and the happy faces of annuals? Logans Trading Company! Luckily I found this nursery in the Seaboard Station shopping center off of Peace Street next to Peace College. You can’t see this amazing gardening center from Peace Street. It’s tucked back in the station located on the railroad tracks.
Every spring and every fall, I make a trip to Logan’s to purchase annual flowers to adorn my 2 flowerpots. Last year, I added basil and mint to the flowerpots. Oh yea, fresh herbs for cooking and making cocktails. Logan’s has a HUGE selection of all kinds of flowering annuals and vegetables. For those urbanites with lawns, they also have a large selection of perennials, shrubs, and trees. But that’s not all, Logan’s has a ton of flower pots and containers, bird baths and feeders, wind chimes, flags, and ornamental decorations. Recently they have added outdoor furniture. And for those people with green thumbs that wish to add beautiful green plants to the interior of their home, Logan’s has very healthy houseplants, tropical plants, and orchids. FYI, house plants also help to clean the air in your home and provide oxygen. I really like that Logan’s offers transplanting services for a small fee. On several occasions I’ve brought in a container and picked out a house plant and one of the helpful employees transfers the plant to my container adding fresh, fertile soil. To me this is a great benefit since I no longer have a garage or yard to do the transplanting myself. The staff is always friendly and they are very knowledgeable so they are a great resource for finding the right plants and problem solving plant health issues.
Logan’s is open all year around. Over the holiday season, they have a plethora of decorations. I have found some gorgeous Christmas tree ornaments at Logan’s. If you need to buy a gift for someone that has everything, then I suggest checking out Logan’s for some ideas. Logan’s also sells poinsettias and Christmas trees in the winter.
Lastly, Seaboard Café is located inside Logan’s. This café is a hidden gem. The food is good and the restaurant has a lovely setting surrounded by plants and flowers. For all your gardening needs, shop at Logan’s.

This is such a great place. If you are looking for a *special* something for your yard or garden, this is the place!
My mom and I went here looking for some nice annuals for rail boxes. I was mostly interested in petunias, geraniums, and sweet potato ivy. They carry tons of flowers from Proven Winners, which is what I mostly ended up buying. They had so many lovely varieties of sweet potato ivy! Who even knew there were that many… And I picked up a lovely double-​petunia and somewhat candy-​striped geranium. Now the real killer about these… they were expensive! Like $ 5 for each small plant. Now, I am really cheap when it comes to plants (I love buying them half dead and bringing them back to life), but I can’t complain, because deep down, I know the price is right for these beautiful flowers…
They also have anything you can imagine for your garden… for instance, I needed S-​hooks to connect my rail boxes to iron railing. They had several choices! I was impressed, because those can be a real hassle to find.
So Logan Trading Company will now be my once-​a-​year-​splurge on nice annuals. If I lived closer, I would shop there all the time!

These guys know what they’re doing!
I’ve gone here a couple of times and am always pleased with their selection and the knowledge of their staff. I live in a highrise downtown, so make no mistake… I don’t ‘garden’, but I do have a couple of planters on my balcony that I like to keep full and blooming. At first, I was overwhelmed by the enormity of their selection, but once I realized they had annuals on one side and perennials on the other side, it all made sense. I recently had a ‘bug’ issue that I needed help with. I took a picture of the plants and took it in to show them and sure enough they knew exactly what the problem was!
They have a café inside, but I haven’t tried that yet… next time!

This is a really fun place to browse around. They have some uncommon plants and products; but they also have the basics I need and can usually answer any question I have. Everything I’ve bought there is good quality too. The people are friendly, knowledgeable, eager to help. Prices are a little on the high side, but not more than I’d expect considering it’s an independent shop and they carry quality goods.
The only real reason I don’t shop here more often is their hours. They seem to be meant for housewives and retirees — although maybe the limited hours are just another characteristic of being an independent shop.

Wonderful nursery, great café… outside seating!

When I lived in Raleigh, this was my favorite nursery! The staff knew the plants and which ones best suit a buyer. There was one girl (Bridgette) who really knew her stuff and I would always ask her questions on each visit about my plants. She even knew what my plant (Bird of Paradise) needed when it was sick with scales to recover. I hope she gets a raise! :)
If only I could find a similar place in Nashville, TN.

I went into Logan’s today to check out their products for getting rid of white flies from my gardenias. The employee that helped me was fabulous. I learned more from her in 5 minutes than I have in 4 years of reading gardening books. She really took a lot of time to explain what products would be beneficial and when to apply them. When I selected my product, she told me that if I forgot how to use it, to call back and ask and she would be glad to help me out. Fantastic customer service!
Logan’s always has a great selection of indoor/​outdoor plants and seeds, among any other gardening type item you might want. They may cost a little more than the box stores, but it is worth it. This is a Raleigh gem.

We visited Logan’s in search of some large planters for the back patio. This center has a huge variety of planters available for every style, size, and shape you could be looking for. Their prices (for the planters) are very reasonable when compared with other local greenhouses/​garden centers that we visited prior to Logan’s.
They have a huge assortment of plants, and everything looked amazingly well tended. The staff were ready and willing to assist in answering questions or helping to ring your order.
We will be back for future gardening needs!
