History

Established in 2013.

Kimbap is named for a popular Korean dish made of rice, seaweed and various fillings such as pickled veggies, beef and kimchi.

Prior to opening, Kim, the owner, managed a farmers market while burning the midnight oil making handmade dumplings for her catering & food delivery business.

Kim was adopted from Korea and raised in Michigan before moving to NC. The restaurant is influenced by the places she has called home: Korea (bold flavors from her birthpace), Michigan (soulful comfort food) and NC (southern hospitality & abundant, fresh ingredients).

Sarah Fisher, whom Kim met at a farmers market, was hired as Sous Chef before Kimbap opened. She has extensive restaurant experience and works tirelessly to craft new menu specials, ensure a smooth kitchen and maintain food quality & integrity.

Kimbap is committed to providing a delicious and delightful dining experience to each and every guest.
