Bad experience, be aware don’t buy in home Confort, terrible customer service, We bought a sofa and the cushion collapsed, we made many calls and the only thing they did was to send a service man to refill the
Cushions.
At the end we got a bad product with no help from Home Confort, so we gave up calling.

Really disappointed in our experience here! My fiancé and I were looking to replace our kitchen table and possibly our sofa so had visited quite a few stores… the first thing you notice is the staff gathered together talking amongst themselves in the center of the store. We were greeted by a woman and she told us to look around .that same lady came to check on us a few moments later. After we found a table we liked and wanted more info we couldn’t find the saleswoman who greeted us anywhere. We made a very obvious lap around the store to search for her and couldn’t find her. So we came back to the center where the other staff were still talking and not a single person offered to help or ask if we had questions. They were too wrapped up in their own conversations. Too many furniture stores in Raleigh to have to hunt someone down for help :-(

I bought a new sectional and kitchen table from Home Comfort in ⁰³⁄₂₀₁₅. Since then we needed 3 repairs done on our couch due to cushions keep tearing from the couch and the cushions are already getting worn. In my opinion and probably any one else opinion its just poor quality for 3k. Now the kitchen table. the table… at the edge of the table the wood has begun to swell, we called requesting service. They asked my wife to send a picture, she did, the store manager calls back two days later and tells her due to water damage they will not honor the warranty. I looked online and on my paperwork and quite honestly their claim is ridiculous. I guess you can not spill a glass of water on your kitchen table due to the fact that the wood on Home comfort furniture is not protected properly that it will swell. In addition the customer service at Home Comfort on Glenwood Ave is horrible. This company can not be trusted to honor their warranties or treat their customers properly. That was my first time and my lat time buying anything from Home Comfort, it was a waste of my money and time shopping there. I am sure to tell 10 or more people and hopefully you will stay away from them. They are not worth the aggravation.
By the way, I have never wrote a negative opinion on any service or business in the past, but feel this time it is warranted.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. My wife and I had some very particular needs and we just weren’t sure how to put our living room together in a way that met all those needs. Kim was extremely interested in what we wanted to do and helped us to come up with a creative solution that we are both just so happy with. The entire staff had a good attitude and really made us comfortable. They had a great selection on display and they knew their product offering well. We had one minor issue that was very much outside of being anyone’s fault but it was handled very quickly and without ever making it hard on us. The entire experience from sales to delivery made it very easy for me to feel like I know where my furniture store is.

I just wanted to let everyone who looks to purchase furniture from Home Comfort in Raleigh (off Gleenwood) to be aware of the problem my wife and I had.
Our children both went to college this year, so we decided to get new carpet, paint the inside of the house and buy new furniture. After eight years in the home with kids it was time to fix everything up again.
We had already cleared out the bonus room so the new carpet could be installed, and we went furniture shopping. We looked for a few days and finally found a couch we loved at Home Comfort. We talked to a sales lady named Sue, who told us about the furniture.
We showed Sue the sectional and ottoman and explained to her that we already moved all our furniture out of the house and wanted to get the new furniture in three weeks because the room was currently empty. We told her it was getting new carpet and paint and three weeks for delivery would be perfect.
Sue told us the following…
«The couch is special order and will take about three weeks to get here.»
«The ottoman will take about six weeks to get here.»
We were fine with that time frame because that would be around the time the new carpet, paint and tv were finished being installed. So we ordered the furniture on October 1^st, my wife came home and wrote in her calendar that the sectional would be here Oct 22 and the ottoman would arrive around the second week of November. So we made sure all the work in the home was finished for the delivery.
We called last week on the 21^st of Oct to make sure the couch would still be delivered. We were told it had a delay and hadn’t even left California yet. We were also told it may not be here until December. So my wife and I both felt like we were lied to about the time frame so they could sell the furniture to us. If we were told the proper time frame in the beginning we never would have ordered the furniture.
I called the manager and explained how upset we were because the room is empty, we have no furniture, and the dates we were given had been pushed about 4 — 6 weeks. He said he was sorry; he had no idea why Sue didn’t tell us about the fabric delay on the furniture and he finally said he would simply not charge me a delivery fee.
I called Sue today (October 28^th) to check on the furniture again. She said it looked like it will be on the truck next week or the week after and could be delivered before Thanksgiving. I told her I was upset because when we talked to her in the store she told us three weeks on the couch and 4 — 6 weeks for the ottoman. She said she never said that, and it always takes around 12 weeks to get the sofa.
I explained to her that my wife and I both told her before we ordered the furniture that we wanted it in 4 weeks or less and she said it was no problem.
She denied saying that so I got frustrated and gave my wife the phone. My wife explained the same thing to Sue; she told my wife we didn’t know what we were talking about, and we were both wrong.
She told my wife she could just cancel the order if she wasn’t happy.
My wife and I are both very frustrated, we both have a ton of anxiety, we are both upset about the entire situation.
If someone from the store would have said, we made a mistake, we are so sorry, we will be happy to give you some money off, that would have made things a little better. However, we were told we (the customers) were wrong.
So if you do buy from this company MAKE SURE, you get the delivery date in writing! Also anything else they say you will want to get in writing as they seem to tell you what YOU want to hear to make a sale.

Couch springs broke after first month paid $ 3500 for the couch. It shouldn’t break this quick for this kind of couch. Company came out to repair one time. It wasn’t repaired properly so broke again. He came back out and said there’s wrong with it. Now it’s sinking to the floor and springs are hanging out.

Average in all. Our sales experience was good. The communication about the order status — eg, an estimate of the timing for production-​to-​delivery could have been better. Ultimately the chairs were delivered in a reasonable timeframe. The gentlemen delivering them were polite and respectful of our property and house. They did seem rushed to get a signature and be on their way (saturday delivery). Only after they left was I able to fully inspect the furniture, finding a mark on the back of each chair. The marks appear to come from the chairs being stored (without protection) and leaning against some darker furniture. Each chair has a black-​mark impressed on its rear. I can only partially remove it. Disappointing.

Our salesperson was incredibly unhelpful. The sofa we purchased did not arrive as promised. I was informed I would receive an update regarding delivery the following day. I never heard anything so I called to check the status. It turned out the salesperson I worked with was no longer there. I was then told my sofa would arrive «in a couple of weeks». When I asked for more specific delivery information and why there was a delay the employee gave continued excuses rather than trying to help resolve the issue. Very disappointed. I will probably end up returning the sofa and buying one from somewhere with better customer service. My husband ended up driving to the store to address the delivery issue. While the initial person we spoke with was incredibly rude, we were able to work with Kim who was able to get it taken care of quickly and with great customer service. I am revising my review from one to three stars given Kim’s excellent service.

Every time my bride says «Honey, I’ve been thinking» it ends up costing somewhere in excess of $ 1000. Of course, every time I say «Honey, I’ve been thinking» it can cost 10 times that, so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.
When my bride started talking about new furniture in the loft and/​or family room areas of our home early last year, I ignored it and put it off for months. Christmas was suddenly around the corner and I was getting tired of the loft setup myself. Perfect family gift or Uh Oh — was I in trouble?
We stopped at almost all of the furniture places on Glenwood. My bride showed me what she had in mind for what she thought was the downstairs family room and all I saw was $$$$. I was more interested in getting the loft redone, getting rid of multiple computer desks. So here we were, with one new computer desk upstairs, getting rid of two others, and looking for a for the love seat for the downstairs. We got to Home Comfort and my bride found the love seat she wanted. Introduce Liz.
When one walks into Home Comfort, there’s a sales manager monitoring the door letting each sales rep know who’s next… we heard «Liz, you’re up» and we were approached by a pleasant young lady who introduced herself and suggested we should let her know if we needed any help with anything.
After locating the love seat, I just had an inkling in my mind it was not going to fit where my bride wanted it in the downstairs setup. I had an idea it might fit upstairs. I asked Liz for a measuring tape and we got the dimensions of the love seat, asked Liz what her schedule was and told her we hoped to be back in the near future. No pressure from Liz whatsoever to hurry up and buy something we weren’t sure was going to fit.
Christmas came and went — I got the new computer desk set up in the loft. Out with the handy dandy measuring tape. Downstairs, the length of the area my bride was looking at was about 2 ft too short to put the love seat, but upstairs, there was a perfect fit — with about 1 foot to spare. Back to Home Comfort we went and located Liz. Purchase made, arrangements for delivery made — painless process, painless delivery and set up…
…well, almost painless — my wallet still felt the hit. Like I said, every time my bride says «Honey, I’ve been thinking…»

5 stars for excellent customer service and selection. I am THRILLED with the responsiveness and compassion of the Home Comfort team in fully resolving a warranty concern I had. Their personal attention went a long way toward earning my loyalty. We have purchased several pieces from Home Comfort over the years and absolutely recommend them for their selection and customer service.

This is a FANTASTIC business!
My husband and I went in yesterday to buy a mattress. Talk about a test on a marriage. I like my bed soft, and he likes his firm. It’s tough finding compromise and comfort at the same time! But, John Gunter and his team are FANTASTIC. John assisted us in finding the perfect mattress for us. I really mean it. He was easy going, not too pushy, and super knowledgeable of products and PEOPLE! He knew how mattresses would settle over time and really helped us to make the right decision.
The mattress was delivered TODAY (less than 18 hours after we ordered it) and it is PERFECT!
I would highly recommend this place! They have beautiful furniture too :).

Wonderful customer service! Especially their associate Doug. We have always been satisfied with Home Comfort Furniture, except for the livingroom set we bought last year. There were problems with the cushions and you could see the frame work through the fabric in some places. I called the store and they replaced the cushions but the problem persisted. I contacted them again and this time spoke with Doug. He was extremely helpful and friendly. I thought I would have a fight on my hands but he told us to come and pick out another livingroom set. We received FULL credit and are very happy with our purchase and the staff at Home Comfort. Its rare to find a store that cares about their customers these days. And not only that, the furniture we purchased was made in America, right here in North Carolina .also a rare thing. Our thanks and appreciation go out to Doug and to Home Comfort.

I purchased a bedroom set and dining table from Home Comfort. I liked the style of the furniture better than any store in the area and the prices were the same or slightly cheaper than competing stores. The delivery was fast and the people who delivered and assembled it on arrival were fast and friendly. The in-​store employees were nice and helpful and remembered me and what I wanted when I returned to make the actual purchase. I have been using the furniture for several months now and it is holding up very well.
I would highly recommend Home Comfort for those looking for something nicer than Rooms To Go but do not want to as much as stores like Ethan Allen.

When I first moved to Raleigh, this was the only furniture store I purchased from (even though I looked at MANY up and down Glenwood), and here’s why:
1. Friendly, helpful staff that don’t bombard you all the time trying to sell to you.
2. Elegant, good quality furniture, more pleasing to the eye than any of the other stores I looked at.
3. Decent prices.
I purchased my mattress (a pillow top queen sized Posture Pedic), a chest of drawers, and a couch, and I have been very happy with everything!
