Came for the playoff games and was extremely pleased with the bar. The staff was incredibly friendly and the service was great! I went with the buffalo wings and they’re among some of the best I’ve had in Raleigh. 5 stars

Great place to watch the games. Food isn’t bad either. Dog friendly. The staff is the friendliest most accomodating Ever.

Arrived at 4:15pm. Only one other table seated. At 4:27pm our order was finally taken for two bottled beers. Beers finally delivered at 4:47, wrong beers, replacements delivered at 4:59pm. 45 minutes for two beers. The scenario that followed was even worse. we decided against our original order for fear it would not come out to liking and went with simple, plain french fries to share(some dinner, huh?). Thirty minutes later our fries were brought out with chili and cheese. Three hours later we are still trying to flag her down to get our bill and we are almost sure it will be nowhere near what was ordered. Our entire group comes here frequently enough expecting poor service, poor food and less-than-cold beers. That’s alright because it’s cheap, right?! Wrong. Today solidifies that this is a painful place to attempt watching football.

Great atmosphere and fun place to hang out. Large out door patio and plenty of room inside. Love the wings!

This place is your classic dive bar. I think there is Astroturf on the floor. Plenty of TVs with sports playing. The largest assortment of beer, wine, and alcohol at low prices. Classic dive bar in a great place to watch a football game on the weekend. And, the food is great. Think Classic Home cooking which is great for a hangover.

I live right down the street from High Park Bar & Grill so it’s super convenient for me to stop in for a drink or to watch a game. If you show up, make sure to get a beer in you quick and you might not notice that the ping pong table is really a beer pong table warped from spills, the floors are sticky, the pool tables are in disarray, and drunk people(who albeit they cut off and control well) are being super drunk.(Note: sometimes it is super quiet here, but when big games are on, it gets very crowded.) That said, there are usually less super drunk people here than other Five Points bars. And there are several pool tables, a ping pong table, and a foosball table which is neat if you get past the party smell. I personally love that they have a foosball table but it is very regularly out of order because of drunk people using ping pong balls instead of the standard ball. One big plus for this place is that their food is actually way better than you’d expect. I lovelovelove their Rochester Country Style wings and am guilty of showing up there fairly late at night just for that indulgence. Overall, if you don’t want your shoes sticky and intend to play any bar games that aren’t mostly or fully out of order, don’t come here. But if you don’t mind the atmosphere and just want a beer, good wings, and a game to watch, High Park delivers.

Waitress was good, food and beer great. Bartender still rude and stubborn. Just wanted to buy a drink when we came in and he refused because we were with a group(but paying on our own). Dude should be sent to customer service training… soon!

Went by again January 1. Nice and quiet watched the game and sat at a table. Bud lite $ 2.50 and some fried mushrooms. I wish they had a good ‘locals’ bar near where I live. But I have to drive a little but it’s worth it. Will be back next weekend.

This place has good food. It was game day when I was there last so it was packed. If you’re an ECU fan this is where you should be. Bathrooms were clean. Patio out front is great if you smoke. I do not, so it was kind of smelly when we left. I would go back for sure.

We had Prime rib and the food was great and the server Emile was very nice and the Manager Chris. And the price!

Solid place for beers/drinks and some bar food. It’s a bit rough around the edges(the walls etc. are damaged in spots), but no complaints about the service, food, or drinks.

Thankfully, I went here with a coupon or I would have felt pretty unsatisfied. First, don’t be fooled by the exterior of the building; the inside is dark and unappealing. It doesn’t exactly have that sports bar feeling… something is missing. I imagine it would be a great place to watch a game(with over 10 TVs) but other than that, nothing special. First, there are three different doors you can enter through. You would think they would put a sign at two of the alternative entrances that you need to see the hostess on the opposite side of the restaurant to be seated. When we finally did make our way to the hostess, she didn’t seat us. Instead, she said«sit wherever, I’ll follow you.» Which came out as awkward and apathetic. Next, they bring you a plate of «famous cornbread» which is incredibly greasy and as my girlfriend put, «tastes like a corn dog without the dog.» Lastly, I asked for chips and received fries and the waitress brought malt vinegar when my girlfriend was on her last piece of fish(although she had asked for it when our food came out). Go here for a drink or to watch a game, but I prefer somewhere more welcoming, cozy, and less greasy for afternoon lunch.

More of a dive bar than I was expecting, but not in a bad way. It was pretty empty when we showed up on Friday night, not really knowing what to expect after driving past it for the past 3 years. Pretty typical sports bar with tons of TVs and a pretty broad menu. The food was pretty good though actually, and I will agree with the others that the Dagwood sandwich is delicious. Not a very extensive beer list, but not terrible either. And we had some of the best service I’ve had in a long time. One plus, lots of outdoor TVs in their covered patio so on those nice days where you have to watch the game, you can at least watch it outside.

This is based one visit for dinner on a Saturday. My advice, based on this visit, would be to stay away from the Southern menu because what I experienced was pretty bad. I ordered fried chicken and could tell instantly it was reheated. The crust was soggy and it had that«microwaved» taste. Waiter confirmed chicken was cooked earlier in the day and reheated — UNACCEPTABLE. They don’t even do that at fast food places. The mashed potatoes were also bad — dry dry dry. The gravy tasted like it was from a jar and it was barely warm. Veggies were canned, which is to be expected this time of year, so I give a pass on that(they tasted okay). But reheating hours-old chicken is not. The entire meal tasted like it was put on the plate and nuked before going out to us. When we inquired about the chicken, the waiter was nice(he was a very nice guy) but didn’t offer to adjust our check and no manager ever came over. You can get decent fried chicken at a grocery store or fast food place, so I expected better of a sit-down restaurant with a large«southern style» menu. It was worse than cafeteria food. I just can’t stress how bad it was. If I go back — big IF — I’ll try a sandwich or burger or something that hopefully can’t be warmed over. The Sports Bar atmosphere screams«pool, beer, wings, nachos» so I should have known better than order something like fried chicken, but the«southern» stuff took about half the menu so I figured it was something they specialized in. Just, NO. A big PRO, and the only reason I’m not giving it 1 Star instead of 2 is the homemade cobbler. We were very skeptical after the awful meal, but the waiter told us it was fresh from the oven. We had the homemade peach cobbler w/a scoop of ice cream and it was amazing. Really delicious. That’s the only reason I will consider going back(for a sandwich!).

We’ve been going to High Park for the last 2 football seasons. Great place to go to watch your favorite game. They play all of them so it’s easy to keep up. The beer selection is pretty good and the food isn’t bad. Wings and burgers have been pretty good each time I’ve got them. Disappointing macaroni and cheese, unfortunately. And my fiancé’s favorite sandwich is the Dagwood.

Great Neighborhood bar. Food is actually better than the typical sports bar. Great drink specials, and friendly service. Could use some updating as far as appearance goes, but a great place you can come as casual as you want and feel right at home. There are some standouts on the menu, the Dagwood sandwich is my favorite!

Good drink specials, decent bar food and probably the best spot to watch a game outdoors in Raleigh.
