Fox Eye Care Group

I made an appointment online through the LensCrafters website for a specific date and time and printed a confirmation. The day of my appointment I received an email that my appointment was 20 days later. I called at 10:05 am and no one answered (they supposedly open at 10). Finally at 10:15 am someone answered. I explained that I made an appointment online for that day at 11:00 am. The person blew me off and said I had an appointment 20 days later. I will not be going back there. My time is precious and I don’t have time for BS or bad service. If you go here don’t make your appointment on the LensCrafters website.

I’ve also written this on the LensCrafters page, but as this is the direct practice that I have issue with, I thought everyone researching this place should know.
I’ve never had worse customer service. When they tell you what you’re paying for at the initial check-​in and examination room, you can expect about $ 100 more tacked onto it. I understand that I pay for my insurance’s copay plus the eye tests, but the assistant should tell you everything you’re about to pay for and WHY instead of bringing out their fighting dogs to force you to pay without question, which is what happened at my appointment.
First of all, I understand that each practice is different. I know that each practice has different policies, and while it may seem obvious to the people working there, it will not always be that way to customers who don’t spend all their time there. So, being new to this location, I was confused as to where the extra $ 99 was from, since I hadn’t been told about it up to the end of the appointment. I was taught to be a conscientious consumer, and I just want to make sure I understand where exactly my money is going. I asked one of the assistants and then the doctor herself about the charge, who told me to ask the front desk.
So when I calmly asked a simple question regarding what I was being charged for, because I was genuinely confused, a short blonde woman woman came out of the back who I assume is some sort of manager, or maybe some sort of loan collector. She was both belittling and bullying to me, mocking what I was saying and generally just being totally out of line with how she addressed my concerns. I asked about the charge because I want to make sure I understand, not to wiggle out of a payment, so I’d appreciate not being treated like a criminal, or a child. A better way to approach this is to answer my question instead of twist my arm when I question what the charge is — it gives the impression that something not so legal is going on, and I think Better Business Bureau and the NC Board of Optometry would have an issue if so.
I’ve been going to other LensCrafters locations for years, and now, this company has lost my business. If that is how you run an office — by employing people to berate you into paying by belittling you in public like a dog — then I’ll take my money elsewhere. And, honestly, it’s not the money, it’s how I was treated that made me see red.
Dr. Gordon and the others in her office were lovely. My guess is that they only hired this person to beat down anyone smart enough to examine the fees and make sure they understand the charges. People, save yourselves, unless you want an appointment from Hell.

I have been going to Fox Eye Care in Raleigh’s Crabtree Valley Mall for many years, and have always experienced superb vision care and warm, friendly service. Dr. Fox and the other optometrists are meticulous and thorough in the eye exam, and always have time to answer questions. The service is prompt and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend them.

Need an eye exam or a new pair of glasses? Then please go somewhere else! The service here is horrendous!
Last summer, my family and I were at the beach for vacation. My girlfriend (being the well-​prepared traveler that she always is…) forgot her entire supply of contacts at home. Since she is pretty much not able to see without her contacts and apparently glasses are a no go at the beach this was an emergency. We went to the closest eye care center we could find and began what would become the most difficult transaction of my life. We contacted Fox Eye Care Group on the way in and told them that we would need her prescription and a release from the optometrist faxed to the local eye care store. When we arrived at the store the receptionist let us know that she had received neither document but that instead there were blank sheets of paper on their fax machine. We called and spoke to a couple of different people and they assured us that it was a mistake and they would send over the documents right away.
Unfortunately, the next 4 faxes were either blank, half-​scanned, or completely illegible to the point that the local optometrist was not able to decipher what they said. At this point the receptionist went out of her way to call Fox Eye Care and was hung up on twice and then received a very rude response from whoever was on the other end. They reluctantly sent over yet another blank document and at this point we finally had to give up. My girlfriend had to spend the next week wearing her glasses and I wasted an entire day of my vacation having to put up with what was quite frankly some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
