Dave’s Mobile Brake Service

wish i could echo everyone else. ironically, called him because of Unilocal reviews.
used him for our 2 vehicles and did some major work, beyond brakes. we communicated via email extensively so after some initial work was done by him, we were ready to move forward. when he showed up, he didn’t bring all the parts that we had requested so the job was half done. the price was also higher. we showed him the emails and he couldn’t give an answer. it was very frustrating because we weren’t relying on quotes but on the price given for parts and labor for work he had inspected beforehand and knew exactly what was needed.
we then had to wait what seemed a very long time, almost 3 weeks, for the rest of the work to be completed. i called him and left VMs multiple times and got no answer. in the meantime, the car could’ve had serious problems because it hadn’t been properly fixed. one axle had been repaired while the other was needing the repair asap.
needless to say, we were down to one semi-​functioning car because we avoided driving the bad axle car while driving the other which had serious issues also, and he needed to wrap up repairing.
when he finally came to finish everything, lots of loose ends as well, i asked him for an oil change. it was $ 30 and more than i wanted to pay considering you can get coupons for $ 10, but the car needed it and he had already taken a few hours of my time.
so the reason for this pitiful review is that i was willing to let all of the other frustrations go but i just went into another shop for a quick bulb fix and they told me the car was completely out of oil. my dip stick was completely dry, potentially ruining my car. dave changed the oil in my car about 3 months ago. i immediately called him and as i should’ve expected, he hasn’t called me back.
even though my car could have a leak, the fact remains i’ll never call him for any work ever again and i’m willing to let others know so that they can make more informed decisions.

Update: Dave was awesome and the pricing was great! We will most definitely use Dave again for our other car and we’ll be referring people to him. FYI: he can perform more services then what he has listed, just ask him.
So far so good. I just contacted Dave last night about my brakes and he replied back within a few hours. He’s been pretty flexible with me thus far (location, time, accepted payment) and this morning my husband is meeting him to go over my brake repair. I’ll update my review after the work is complete and give my final analysis. Also I love that he is a man of God and not afraid to show it on his business website. :-) Just a personal touch that really made me feel less anxiety about not taking my car to the dealership or any other well known shops. To each her/​his own!

I cannot possibly recommend Dave enough. He was quick, courteous, and honest. Best of all, he was HALF of what the dealership was going to cost. If you have any repairs like this, make Dave your first call before spending way too much at the dealership.

I don’t know how I’m the first person to add/​review this business on Unilocal considering where and how I stumbled across Dave. I was coming out of one of the Cisco buildings in RTP and saw Dave waiting to return car keys to somebody in the building. I was in a bit of a hurry so I couldn’t chat long but I asked for a card. The next day I hopped online and did what you’re probably doing… research. I was surprised that I couldn’t find any reviews since he has a comment section on his website and a majority are from tech people.
Since I was already on Unilocal I called around some of the local brake and auto shops to get an idea of what this was going to cost. I knew I needed new brakes and some rotor work because of the pulsing when braking. I then filled out the quote request form on Dave’s site and was contacted later that night. His price was very competitive and considering the convenience factor I decided to give it a shot.
Dave showed up around noon on the day we had agreed on and I met him in the parking lot to give him my key fob. I won’t lie, it was a little unnerving giving a stranger my key but that’s part of the deal. Fast forward a few hours and Dave called me to let me know that my car was done and to come down to get my key. I was expecting the price to be a little higher than what he quoted since that seems to be standard practice in this industry but it wasn’t! After paying, I headed to my car and the first thing I noticed was that he put my «heat shield» window visor back up after doing my brakes. I know this has nothing to do with a brake job but it does say something about the man doing the job.
I waited a week before writing this review to make sure everything was still functioning properly and I still have no complaints. Details: 2008 Infiniti G37 coupe | new brakes and turned the rotors. The brakes also have a lifetime warranty.
