Checkers Pizza & Subs

Everything great up until my food was delivered. My food was delivered in a reasonable time frame. I ordered the shrimp alfredo and a side cobb salad. The description for shrimp Alfredo you would think was your traditional pasta and shrimp and sauce. Turn out to be loaded with mushrooms and onions. Two ingredients I don’t care for. I have ordered it before. It had been some time ago. So maybe the recipe was changed recently. How ever, the website mentioned nothing bout including that in the entreé. Which I’ve never had served in or with my Shrimp Alfredo. I called back to make a suggestion to the cashier. Cause not everyone cares for mushrooms or onions in the alfredo. She didn’t seems to care bout it, and stated that it is prepared with it. Well for future reference I will make sure I am aware of what comes with my order!!!

I ordered through Unilocal my food of a call one and garlic knots. Both were great, but definitely could use some work.
Deliver took an hour at 104pm I ordered and the delivery guy showed up at 1140pm. The garlic knots were gret, but the call one kinda of looked like it was thrown together on the inside. Pepperoni was just stacked inside and cheese was not completely melted as you can see by my pictures. Overall the food was good.

Got the large Philly Steak & Cheese — with onions, peppers, and mushrooms — and the bread toasted with a nice crust. Pretty tasty, and at 02:00 in the morning! Came with oven baked spiced fries — with I didn’t expect. Some of the fries had burnt tips, but for oven baked — not bad. As I work swing shift, I will be returning — hungry for more goodies!

We ordered a pizza around 9pm. I had to speak to about 3 different people cause I guess they were busy. The pizza arrived around 11 and it wasn’t what we ordered but we were too hungry to order another one. The pizza we received seemed a bit undone and there was a lot of flour on the base. It was greasy too. The delivery man was sweet though. I usually don’t tip generously for new places and this was no different. I think I’ll pass the next time on this place I have a craving for pizza at night. It was really sloppy.

We ordered food from here tonight. When we called to place our order the employee who answered the phone was unaware of the special we tried to order (it was on a flyer that was placed on our door this afternoon) and put us on hold for several minutes to find out. Once our food arrived, we discovered we were missing our order of hummus, and the meat on the gyro was charred completely. We called and they did bring us our hummus and a fresh gyro, but it took another 40 min for that to arrive. The food was ok, but not great and definitely not worth the hassle.

This place stays open until 5 am everyday, so I gave them a shot at 3 am. I ordered chicken wings and a Philly chicken sub, they Did Not Get It Right, I’m for sure they was SLEEP making my sub. No mayo, onions or green peppers that is what makes a Philly sub… want bother them anymore!

I. Love. This. Place. While the ingredients may not be organic or whatever, and it used to be called PizzAmerica (PizzAmurrica if you will), they do make the best vegan pizza around! ~pesto amore w/​no garlic sauce, no cheese or feta, add marinara, add black olives, green olives, and mushrooms!!! YUM!
These guys are probably some of the nicest and most sincere business owners I have EVER met! Also… They are open until 4am. IT’S SO ODD I CAN’T EVEN!!!

I placed my order online which I was a little worried about considering just recently they did not offer online ordering. My order took and hour, when the driver «arrived» he argued that he was at my house when he obviously was not as I was standing outside my front door freezing. I had to walk out and find the driver who was off in god knows where. I was going to cut his tip by a dollar and then felt bad because he was not the college kid I felt I spoke to on the phone moments earlier.
I was not going to write any reviews on my previous experience, but my pizza was obviously cold. I ordered my Greek pizza with no onions… I am a part time waitress and I know when onions have been picked off… Nice try, you tried to fool the wrong person!!!

Two hours later: no pizza showed up, but credit card still charged. … I ordered a large pizza for delivery at 10:20pm though the online ordering system on their website (
). Immediately received confirmation email. Called at 11:25 to see if the pizza was coming or not. Was told it was on the way. By 12:10, still no pizza. Called to ask where it was; they had no idea. I cancelled the order. Guy said he was sorry and hung up. They still charged my credit card. Will be calling to speak to management tomorrow.

I was hanging out in my hotel room (the Holiday Inn in N. Raleigh) and feeling quite a bit under the weather. The idea of getting real clothes on and driving anywhere was too much to bear, but around 8:45pm, I realized I would be getting hungry sometime before bed and probably needed to eat something. I had been perusing
earlier in the evening, and decided to use that to order some food.
I got a 9″ cheese steak sub but I made it similar to the sort of cheese steak I loved as a kid, with lettuce and tomato instead of the onions/​peppers/​mushrooms. It might sound like heresy, but it’s dang delicious. I also ordered some mozzarella sticks and a 20oz Sprite (dang congestion means I’m avoiding caffeine) to push my order over the minimum for delivery ($ 15 + $ 2 delivery fee).
My sub came as ordered, no issues with my substitutions, and the bread was fresh and delicious — almost more like a baguette than the standard generic sub roll. The tomatoes appeared to be of an heirloom variety: they were greenish in color, but were definitely not unripe regular tomatoes. The steak was of a good quality too, it had an obvious beef flavor (that sounds weird) that was more pronounced than a lot of other generic cheesesteaks I’ve had in my past.
The mozzarella sticks were plentiful and came with two containers of marinara. There was no way I could eat even half of them, and they were pretty standard for fried cheese sticks, but definitely not a bad choice.
The Sprite was pleasantly cold, and both my sandwich and mozzarella sticks were nice and hot. I placed my
order at 8:56pm with an expected delivery time of 10:00 — 10:10; my order showed up around 9:30, which was nice.
Overall, a very good experience both with Checkers and Grubhub. Definitely worth a try, especially if you don’t want to leave the house/​hotel!

How does this place have no reviews?! Excellent food. I have ordered pizza late night from this place twice and both times have exceeded my expectation. Both were very flavorful and didn’t skimp on the toppings. We did have to order through Grub Hub but the delivery was about 10 minutes faster than they quoted, so far exceeded my expectations. Got to try this place if you’re in the mood for tasty pizza!!!
