History

Established in 2007.

In my prior career, I traveled quite a bit. Like you, I wanted the security of knowing a trusted caregiver with a passion for animals would reliably care for my pets in the manner which they were accustom – and shower them with love and attention.

I was fortunate to have that pet sitter who cared for my furkids for 5 years while I lived in California.

Bone-​A-​Fide Pet Care was established to provide you the same sense of ease whether for a dog walk while away for the day or pet care while traveling.

Our pet sitters are carefully selected based on many criteria. What they have in common: a deep rooted love for animals, commitment to their well being, an eye for details, and excellent client communications. They truly enjoy getting to know, care for, play with and pamper your pets!

All sitters are bonded, fully insured, background checked, and required to be Pet First Aid and CPR Trained.

I’ve been a life long lover of all animals, having had dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, exotic birds, fish, and turtles. Currently I have 3 wonderful dogs, two of which are rescues, and one that is a cancer survivor. I also have 2 exotic birds, a Senegal which I spoon fed when she was a baby, and my chatty African Grey who is a rescue. They are my kids, and I love them dearly.

I had to travel recently and a co-​worker told me about Bone-​A-​Fide Pet Care. I have been very impressed with their professionalism and the care they gave to Fifi. Can’t say enough wonderful about Kato and her caregivers. They treat my kitties like their very own. I recently travelled out of the country for 10 days and was truly able to relax because I knew my «kids» were being well cared for. My senior cat, 20yo!, was needing extra TLC to make sure he eats. Kato went the extra mile in trying some foods she thought he would find more enticing. She pureed it and he loves it! They kept in touch while I was away as I like updates and made sure to give meds and lots of play time for my other kitty. Came home to two very happy and calm cats! Costs are very fair and care is top notch!

I travel a lot for business and recently started using Bone-​A-​Fide Pet Care. I have been very impressed with their professionalism and the high level of care they provide to Oliver. We have used Kato and Bona-​A-​Fide for almost a year, starting in August of 2010, and I cannot say enough good things about Kato and her team! My husband and I are both students and we are often gone long hours.
At the beginning, I had such a hard time even contemplating leaving our dog in someone else’s care as I tend to be a bit of a worrier and am very protective of our dog. We have been so pleased with the service and grateful to Kato and Larry for taking such good care of our dog and cat. It has been so nice to not worry about the pets while we are away in class, knowing that both the animals and our house are safe with Kato and her team. The highlight of our day is coming home to the detailed walk log, describing everything that occurred during the mid-​day walk. Kato is prompt in responding, has always accommodated our requests– even when they have been short notice, and is overall absolutely wonderful to work with. We have recommended her services to many of our friends, neighbors, and classmates as well.
We have also had Kato come and check on our cat while we are out of town. It is so nice to know that both our cat and our house are safe in Kato’s hands while we are away. The daily visits also come with a daily log letting us know what occurred and Kato also tends to give a phone call as well. Kato has even helped us find a better cat food for our picky eater cat!
If you are looking for pet-​sitting or dog-​walking services, I highly recommend Bone-​A-​Fide Pet Care– we couldn’t be happier with the entire experience.
