I went here to resolve a power steering issue and get an oil change. They fixed the issue very quickly and were pleasant to work with. Instead of charging to replace an expensive part, they determine that only an O-​Ring needed to be switched out, which I really appreciated.
The place isn’t much to look at, but they seem to be knowledgeable and good place to visit for car maintenance and repair.

Love Allen’s! If it were a bar I’d hang here but who loves a place that they have to go and spend money they don’t have? Still, it’s a great place to go to get work done. They’re honest and sometimes they may crack a small joke. Too bad Derrick isn’t there anymore, I loved his tattoos and his 1960 sexy auto mechanic look.

Dropped off my Nissan late on Monday with what I thought would be a major repair (car had been idling strange then completely died). They diagnosed the problem and were able to quickly make the repair which turned out to be a minor fix of an issue that had caused my car to basically be undriveable. I was back on the road in less than 24 hours and ecstatic that I have found an honest and reliable garage only a few blocks from where I live!

My car made this horrendous noise and then died in the middle of the street. I thought it was a goner. I had it towed to Allen’s and waited for the bad news. They knew exactly what it was and charged me a very reasonable fee. They could have TOTALLY ripped me off and they didn’t. I have sent several people there and they love the place too. There’s a reason the lot is packed with cars and they have tons of business!

Honest and trustworthy, which can be hard to find. I brought my car in needing a repair to my radiator coolant reservoir. Instead of charging me for a new part, they figured out how to repair the piece I had, charging me only $ 20 for time.

Allens Automotive IS IT !! Robbie the boss in charge of production is a «WIZARD ». I’m an old guy and I’ve been to many a shop in my time and this garage is the «best «. Honest and Reliable. They deliver what they promise. Whatever the cost, it is a bargain. BECAUSE .It’s done right the first time. They stand behind their work. I can’t say enough. I took my car there to have my starter replaced & they did a great job fixing it. It took them a little while to narrow it down via troubleshooting. I had to come back the next day because they were about to close & the mechanic didn’t want to do a rush job on my car. I came back the next day when they called & said it was fixed but it did the same thing as before. He got back up under the hood & saw that the dying starter took out the ignition coil wire on its way out. They replaced the wire & got me back on the road with no extra charges & reasonable prices. Service was pretty good compared to surrounding car garages. I’d take my car back there if something else happens to it, knock on wood, lol.

When I noticed our Honda Insight had a flat, my boyfriend and I knew that the spare would only take us so far. So, without much enthusiasm, we looked up the closest car shops to us on Google Maps and found the top rated Allen’s Automotive. I met my boyfriend there after work, hoping they could change his flat and fit my car in for an oil change.
Located on the corner of Boylan and Hillsboro, Allen’s may be more shabby than chic, but hey– what can you really expect from a car garage? There were only two mechanics in sight, but they fixed Bumby’s flat and changed Hank’s oil in under an hour. Yes… I name my cars. Don’t judge.
Prices were pretty reasonable. The flat was changed and fixed for $ 15 and the oil change, which included lubrication, new filter, fluids and tire pressure, was $ 32.94. Not the cheapest I’ve seen, but fitting us in at a moment’s notice was truly appreciated. And, it’s a relief to know that we’ve found our go-​to car shop (fingers crossed we won’t have to go back soon!)
