I’ve gotten their pizza in he past and thought it was really good but their burger is what is making me write a review. DONOTSLEEPONTHEIRBURGER. AMAZING! Fresh and BIG! You get way more than what you pay for. I know not a lot of people get their burgers from a pizza place but trust me on this one. On top of that, they’re friendly people and I received my food really quick. I’m a 100% repeat customer.

You know why I like this place? They have a great selection of really good pizza UNTILCLOSINGTIME! The pizza is very good, their sandwiches are huge, the staff are friendly and quick. Odd corner for parking, but it doable. Never had delivery, so can’t speak to that. Definitely one of the best slice joints around.

After reading the great reviews we decided to give this place a chance. Ordered 1 set of garlic knots, large plain pie & eggplant parm sandwich. Was quoted 40 – 45 mins & arrived right on time which is all you can expect on a Friday nite. Whenever it’s a new place I always order plain as that is how you can tell the true taste. Garlic knots pretty good; however sauce was tasteless. Pizza as thin as requested & cooked golden brown(the way it should be unless you ask for well done) exc for 1 slice? When I opened the box the color was a pale yellow like the color of the stars on this site when you give a 1,2,3 star review so I was already concerned before I even tried the first bite & sure enough sauce was virtually non-existent; it was closer to a white pie. Also, maybe 1 – 2 drops oil/slice so wound up putting the tasteless sauce from the garlic knots on the pie to alleviate the dryness somewhat. Eggplant parm sandwich so-so Total incl tip was $ 24 which was reasonable so for that & the prompt arrival is the only reason i’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 but I doubt I will be trying this place again. I did read they changed the chef about a year ago; maybe they changed him again because a true Italian cook would be embarrassed making this sad excuse for a pizza.

their balsamic chicken sandwich tastes pretty good, the bread is nice and crunchy but not too hard, and the chicken is cooked just right. I first tried their buffalo chicken pan pizza because of the reviews, but I wasn’t too much of a fan.

Pizza is great, all the different varieties, are all so good. Staff has always been friendly no matter how busy it was. The antipasto salad is awesome, very plentiful. The prices are great as well. The place is a little dated and needs some TLC, but I’m not gonna take away Stars on that. It’s my now go to place for pizza.

The good: The pizza is fantastic. Love the different specialty slices. The people behind the counter are very nice. The bad:(why 3 stars and not 5) The place is very run down, which I don’t mind, but it is also filthy. i shouldn’t have to wipe down my own table every time I go in there. The salt/garlic/cheese shakers have sauce dried on the outside. They need to be tossed and replaced. My biggest complaint is the delivery boys who take up a whole table and don’t move. If they don’t have a delivery to make, they could be wiping down the tables or doing something besides taking up space. I’ve had to share a table with strangers bc the delivery boys wouldn’t move. I’d go here a lot more often, and would bring colleagues if it wasn’t so dirty.

So the thing is, there is beauty to be found when something hits the mark. For example, the Honda Odyssey makes no pretense at being a sports car. It’s mission statement is that of a people mover, and it fulfills it’s function without peer. To me, it’s a thing of beauty, in that it does what it sets out to do without compromise. This pizzeria makes no pretenses, has no fusion or gastropub aspirations. It sets out to make comfort food, in massive portions. It’s honest food, not in the sense that they claim to be farm to table, organic, or gmo free, but in the sense that there is no subterfuge, no handpoured water or air dried flour, handkneaded dough or time cured sausage. It’s water, flour, dough, sausage. More importantly, the food tastes good. The pizza is the classic new York slice pulled out of a battered metal front oven that maxes out at probably 850. The chicken Caesar salad will make your eyes bulge out with surprise, and wonder out loud how they could possibly be making money, they give out so much. I like coming here. It gives me a quick fix, an unpretentious caloric lift, when necessary. The ac/fan combo makes many parts of the restaurant teethchatteringly cold to sit in for prolonged periods.

I tried this place about a year n half ago and was so so. I tried it this past Friday 4⁄17 and ordered a pie well done and it was perfect and they use Grande cheese and if you know food this cheese is the best u can buy . I understand they are under new ownership(about 11 months now) which explains the better quality of ingredients and they even cleaned up the place. I also stopped in today Sunday and ordered a cheesesteak and that also was good and they have great pricing. As long as they are consistent I will be back!

Ordered here for dinner tonight, and we ordered a grandma pie with minced garlic. It was amazing. Every bite had fresh mozzarella cheese. There was no inch spared. The sauce was perfect, dough was just right. I have ordered from other places with grandma pies and this is my favorite one by far! I’ve ordered here in the past but just a plain pie. Thanks for an amazing dinner!

This tucked away spot is the best pizzerias in all of this area. The slices are thin and cripsy, sicilian is also really cripsy and tasty, their sandwiches, appetizers and salads are delicious and fresh too. I’m so happy I finally found a spot where it’s not only great pizza but great food. The staff is always friendly and the prices are great. I’m hooked!

My husband and I live in Rahway and were searching for pizza on Friday night. Given the recent positive review of Tony’s Pizza Café we decided to give it a shot. We ordered the veggie pan pizza online and was told that it would be ready in 15 – 20 minutes. When we got to the café the place was packed with people picking up pizzas and a few dining in(I think the majority of their business is pickup or delivery). Definitely a good sign that the place was busy! We specified online that we wanted the pizza slightly more cooked so we had a wait a few extra minutes, but no big deal the pizza was perfectly cooked to our liking and the staff were super nice. Now to the pizza, which was absolutely amazing. The crust was very crisp and buttery, almost tasting like a beer crust and the sauce had great flavor and herbs. The veggie toppings(spinach, eggplant, mushrooms, broccoli) were super fresh and flavorful. Everything combined this made a perfect combination. Typically veggie pizzas are soggy since the veggies release water as they cook, but not Tony’s. This pizza crust could hold its toppings and you could easily eat the pizza with one hand. Please check this place out!

This is one of the best pizzerias around. We drive here from scotch plains to pick up pizza and take it home. It’s hard to find good pizza in the burbs as they always fail on making good crust. Tonys crust is thin and tasty. The sauce is excellent and the amount of cheese is perfect. The dining area is not formal but it’s fairly comfortable with a tv on the wall. Local gem… what more can I say.
