Rahway Fried Chicken

Great service. Yummy, cheap food. Good for a quick lunch or a slight craving. I recommend this place. However they make their seasoning for the batter is the best way possible. Yum yum yum.

I totally agree with the review above written by Matt. I go to this place twice every week and the owner knows my name and I know his name. We are like friends now. The chicken is awesome especially the chicken over rice dish!!! You gotta try this dish and along with this dish comes a salad with a drink. You cannot beat that for the price of $ 8.99 and they do give a lot of food. They are certainly not stingy! I was amazed that they have keel breast and I tried it out, it was really delicious. Try their desserts too because they are awesome as well. Don’t miss this place because all the food here is very affordable. I love this place and this will also be my main chicken restaurant home in New Jersey. You do not need to go to NYC to get awesome chicken. It is in Rahway, New Jersey!!!

Never wrote a review for any place in my area yet so with that being said, just wanted to say this place was awesome tonight! My mother wanted me to order fried chicken and honestly I got sick of places like KFC or Cluck-​U and went on Unilocal and saw this place that I live only a block or two away from, never heard of it before, saw some amazing reviews on here as well as some bad ones and after careful consideration I decided to try it. Tonight I ordered the fat side chick which is a cheese steak with fries, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, lettuce and ketchup all mashed together in a single sandwich. When I opened it up I almost felt intimidated by the sandwich at first bc there is just so much I didn’t know where to begin to start eating it but once I took my first bite oh yea that sandwich was done, was the tastiest sandwich I had in a long time. My nephews ordered a bacon cheeseburger (which I was shocked it was much bigger than I thought the burger would be), 3 piece chicken meal and some hot buffalo wings all came with a side of fries and my nephews all agreed to make this our new go to place for anything! You know the old saying of what do you expect when ordering a burger or something from a chicken shack? So far that does not apply at Rahway fried chicken. My only complaint about this place is that I had to call 6 – 7 times for someone to finally pick up the phone and i asked the lady to make sure her driver has change which she didn’t, but the driver made it right and it worked out so just a minor complaint, not enough to affect my rating. With that being said I believe Rahway Fried Chicken just got a new regular customer, I am definitely planning on ordering again, thinking of trying the Italian Cheeseburger next.

Love the place and the owner… Banana Nilla wafer pudding, WHAAAAT! The food is amazing and they know how to run a hockey shack. It’s very old-​school and run the way a chicken shack should be run! Bravo!

Rahway Fried Chicken’s 3 piece combo meal is the greattest, perfectly sized, wonderfully crafted, meal you’ll ever eat

SO GOOD!!! Fast and convenient! The prices were very reasonable. AND the chicken was so delicious! I went last night with several friends, everyone got something different… not a single complaint from the hungry mob and no mistakes with any of the orders; that says a lot for a fast food joint! I will def be returning!

Wonderful service and great fried chicken. Crispy, flavoured well, and always hot. Delivery service always quick and courteous. I enjoy the food a lot.

I love this place! No, I’m not overrating this food joint because the food here is awesome. I’ve been ordering with them for a while now and so far, nothing that I’ve got has ever disappointed. The HOT WINGS are awesome along with the Philly Cheeseteak and the Chicken Sub is one of my top favorites. It’s affordable and awesome at the same time!

first let me start by saying that i ONLY tried the fried chicken — so this review is based on their fried chicken alone. THAT being said…
I came here looking for a place to eat in Rahway recently — apparently the reviews here on Unilocal were amazing so I figured I had to try this place out (as i was in the mood for fried chicken)…and well, lets just say I left wanting more. MORE FOOD! Maybe my palette is too sophisticated, but that chicken was TERRIBLE. Over done, dry not juicy… and practically MEATLESS! I ordered a breast and a leg — and the leg had more meat on it than the breast! It seemed to have been skinless fried chicken at that (just the breast)
Overall I regretted going here and left hungry but with a lost appetite (if that makes any sense!)
on a good note — the staff is friendly, the place is clean and the prices are low… but hell they BETTER be for the sub par quality chicken they are serving.
You’re better off heading to Popeyes chicken only a five minute drive away.

I’ve tried the fried chicken and it’s too greasy for my taste. I usually get the lamb salad. Very good portion size for the price.
The people are pretty nice too and laid back.

The price on the menu was wrong, instead of changing it they insist the higher prices inside. The young cashier male is rude. The ambiance is horrible. Not much more too add than that. Additionally while sitting inside I observed multiple customers having issues with their orders and the staff just giving rude responses and excuses. Not friendly at all.

Yes yes, another high rating from me for a fast food-​like eatery. This is a little different though, the wait times are long enough that I don’t consider them a fast food place. I am under the impression that they prepare your food (not from scratch though) after you placed the order. Situated a block or so from the Rahway train station and opening till late into the night, this is a good spot to grab a meal or even dine-​in after a long day at work or play.
Even though numerous reviews already attested to the lure of the chicken with rice in white sauce, I have to say that this is by far my favorite dish and I almost always go back to ordering this dish after trying out the other stuff they have on offer. Their chicken with rice looks and tastes good. It’s served piping hot in a nice round aluminum dish, with generous serving of flavored rice and more chicken than you could possibly have in one sitting. I always have leftovers for another full meal. The set comes with a side salad and a drink of your choice. Tip: the white sauce adds to the flavor of the rice and chicken. Also, the fish and rice is also a must try. Similar to the chicken version, it comes with generous serving of fried tilapia.
I’m less impressed with their fried chicken and wings though. I find the batter too salty for my taste, preferring to stick to the generic fast food chains for my fried chicken cravings. But I’m happy with their signature dish of chicken rice with white sauce, and that itself is enough to keep me heading back ~~

I love this place… everyone is nice and the lamb gyros are fantastic. I am moving out of Rahway but close enough to keep coming here!

My favorite place to eat in Rahway. Favorites are the Italian Cheesesteak and of course the chicken — so juicy and delicious. Staff is super friendly and always remembers me when I come in. Also one of the only places that carries Mystic! Located near the train station, bars, etc. Love this place.

Delicious chicken but it could be more crispy and better seasoned. They have other food like cheese steaks but i would stick to the chicken.

Excelent place to eat a variety of chicken and beef. Excellent beef empanadas. The prices are good and if you can’t finish all the food you can save it for later.

Place, people and food are awesome here ! I eat here often bc i work around the corner & live in Rahway. Glad to be near the place !

I’ve had it with the poor customer service. The food tastes great but it is not worth having to argue with the ignorant staff. I am tired of arguing with a bunch of teenagers with an attitude problem about my food. My food was delivered soggy and disgustingly greasy and the supposed kid in charge refused to refund me or listen to my concern. Unless these kids receive better training, I am never ordering from here again. Extremely rude children, who’s just sitting here laughing at me over the phone. Better control your staff or I’m never ordering here again.
EDIT: employees cursed at me over the phone and I’m done. I can get tastier chicken from plenty of other places, this establishment does not deserve my money or time. I am disgusted that children run the restaurant the way that they do. The owner needs to take a long look at who they hire and themselves, never have I been so disrespected by an employee in my life. Would rate ⁰⁄₅ stars if it was an option.

Yes yes yes!!! We have found a place that sells chicken and rice with the white sauce without having to go into the city to find it!!!
This place is great! Super friendly and Yes, it is a chicken shack, but on steroids! Place looks great and it’s in the center of town. Their menu is pretty basic, but I went for the rice and chicken with white sauce. Ohhh yummy!
They put the salad in another container so the rice and chicken portion is enormous. It’s not salty at all, and it has great seasoning. Ask for extra sauce on the side!!!
The fries are so good! Crispy and very tasty. Their fried chicken was juicy and crispy!
Totally going to order here again! I’m going for the sandwiches next!
Take note, Rahway isn’t in its best shape just yet, visual wise, but it’s growing. The bars, restaurants and new apartments are starting to pop up. Police are present in the area and they don’t mind pulling people over lol
