I used to be a big fan of the customer service and the pointe shoe fitting here, but not any more.
I special ordered pointe shoes for my daughter because her size wasn’t in stock, and was told it shouldn’t take too long for them to come in. I wasn’t in a huge rush, but my daughter did need them for her class. We’ve ordered other items before and they came in a timely manner, so I had no reason to believe it wouldn’t take the usual few days to a week for the shoes to come in.
Over 2 weeks later and ironically after a call stating I wanted to cancel the order, the shoes arrived. I get a strong feeling that the order was not promptly placed and someone goofed. I would truly have been fine with that, but I was given a long story via voicemail that seemed a little off, to be honest.
No apology was given when I picked up the shoes, and the young lady who is usually quite friendly and helpful was a bit abrupt. There was no suggestion to buy ribbon and elastic, which is necessary with a new pair of pointe shoes, so that tells me that my business must no longer be wanted. I’ll now either go into NYC or find somewhere else in Jersey to get dancewear for my two daughters — a real shame because this place is centrally located, they usually carry the items my daughters need, and we’ll be needing pointe shoes more frequently in the immediate future.
