I first read about Fort Knox Credit Union when researching online about credit cards. The marketing on their web site at suggests that one can get a credit limit up to $ 25,000.00. I went ahead and applied and two days later I am told by a loan officer named Brenda that the maximum credit limit they give to anyone is $ 2,500.00. My FICO credit score is 810 and I have an excellent Debt-to-Income ratio. However after hearing that I was misled and a credit limit of $ 2,500 was the maximum, I had no desire to continue the application process. I later found out that they did a hard credit pull from all three credit bureaus, not just one, which is what many banks do. Honestly, this credit union is supper«rinky dink.» I regret wasting my time and am very frustrated to be reminded of a hard credit pull from all three bureaus for the next two years.

I’ve banked with FKFCU since 1998, more than 15 years. I can’t say I have a single complaint. I’ve chosen them for a wide variety of banking, including Savings, Checking, Car Loans(several), and Credit Card. Many convenient locations across central Kentucky to choose from. Very professional. I highly recommend FKFCU, if you are a fan of credit unions like I am.

Overall complete crap. B/C they are so inept you cannot get a receipt for depositing money without an ID on you, because they are so stoneage they have not figured out how to just put the last 4 digits of an account number on a receipt, yet you have ALL of the information in front of you on the deposit slip. They will claim this are banking laws, but someone who has been in financing for the last decade and VERY familiar with federal banking laws calls BS all over their inept-ness!!! They create charges for using your pin number, but they don’t let you know this will happen; when you call about it after you figure it out on your own they refuse to waive the fees. Randomly shut your card off when you are shopping at the same places you always shop stating there’s been a lot of fraud, but they never bother to call you on the number they require you to provide when opening the account. They have a mobile app that is worthless, but if you don’t use it they charge you a mobile inactive fee :/Basically their customer service is crap, their policies are crap, they don’t care about you, so there really is no benefit to using them. I am filing a complaint with the post commander at Fort Knox, I want this fraud institution removed. There are plenty of larger banks that treat you the same way, but at least they have better hours and better call center hours.

Recently I contacted FKFCU to inquire why Identity Secure protection I had on my account had been cancelled without my authoriization and the fees were still being deducted from my account. The member service representative I spoke to concerning this would not answer my question. I commend the rep for refunding the fees for the time I was charged for a service not provided.
