This restaurant is not child friendly. More Greedy then ethical. Some of the prices are marked way up. And apparently dont care about reasonable child meals. This is truly not kid friendly. Today they wanted to charge a full price buffet for a simple ½ bratwurst for our child. When told we have to buy the whole buffet meal, I argued she merely wants a sandwich. Again we were told buy her french fries instead by the owner stefan, I saw 1 order of fries are almost 5 bucks. Yeah just for French fries. So I said we’re going elsewhere so we can buy our daughter a decent lunch. stefan the owner then charged my wife the full price of a meal she did not yet receive, a meal when in fact she had canceled. This was not a meal specially prepared but where they ask you what you want out of the glass buffet. She had to cancel her order because my child could not order a child size meal considering they have ½ bratwurst on the buffet or a simple bratwurst sandwich. with out charging a grown up buffet.. No one Ate. I guess they don’t need long term customers when we have a revolving door of military.

Great place for lunch with great food. More than you can eat for a very reasonable price. Schnitzel is excellent.

One of my two favorite restaurants in the Radcliff-Fort Knox area. The lunch buffet usually consists of schnitzel and choice of sides. The servings are very robust and the food is fresh. It can get crowded, especially around noon. When we get there at 12:30 or later we normally have no wait. I would highly recommend the espresso — it’s one of the only places I’ve found real expresso in the area. They can accomodate groups, but I would not use this restaurant for a group lunch unless I’d coordinated prior. They have a very good selection of desserts, meats, and dry goods.

Food is good and desserts are awesome! Spätzle is great and service is great. But they can’t beat the German restaurant in Louisville. They used to sell Kinder-Überraschung here. Also we buy our curry ketchup from this store. I dislike the size of restaurant, location, and parking.

Love the food. The best German Food in the area, but the place is really small. The hours also weird… you gotta get here right when it opens if not half of the place will be filled with people from Ft Knox.

The cakes here are self made and they taste just like back in Germany. I ate there for lunch and had a schnitzel with kraut and potatoes, was really good. He also has meats like wieners and brats to buy and grill at home.

I saw this place had 3.5 stars, so I had to add my 5 star review. This is my favorite restaurant in the entire state of Kentucky and definitely in my top 10 of German restaurants after having lived overseas for 6 years. Very small, quaint, family owned, pretty much exactly like in Germany, except they have a lunch buffet instead of making it fresh, but usually the schnitzel is just done as you walk in, so it’s pretty fresh. Wonderful service, and it seems like they started serving beer, perfect. Excellent sides, except I would like brussel sprouts that haven’t been boiled to an inch of their life, please. Good potatoes, green beans, sauerkraut, etc are usually the options. Good marinated cucumber salad also. The schnitzel with jaeger sauce is really the only way to go. But the desert. Oh the deserts, handmade by those amazing German people. The desert is what makes this place golden. Authentic German cakes, some light, fluffy and with just hints of sweetness for me, heavy creams, delectable German chocolate layers for the hard core addicts and the cheesecake is so perfectly German – rich and thick, a bit crumbly and dry, more cheesy than sweet, and a perfect crust. Wow. I need to just go buy a whole cake for my own, but I’d eat it all in 2 days. The people that don’t like this place… well I hate to say it, but they are usually the people that don’t eat real food and prefer the processed junk, fast food, plates drowned in cheese and greasy buffets that are most of the restaurants in Radcliff.

Meh. The food is good, if you can catch them actually open & active… Unless it’s the lunch«window» for Fort Knox(11:30 — 1:30, at most), I’m not even willing to chance it, at this point, having changed plans while parked in their lot over a dozen times… It appears that they’re open whenever the hell they want, outside of scheduled lunch rush. And yes, this is the same place as Gasthaus Zum Deutscheu Eck .

I’ve eaten at this restaurant probably 4 – 5 times, each time at lunch. They have a lovely lunch consisting of schnitzel and wurst and various German sides. Excellent Jaeger sauce and hot German mustard to go with it. Recommended.

This German restaurant brings you back to Bavaria! From the décor to the staff to the food it doesn’t get any closer than this. I’ve been here twice for lunch and both times the schnitzle was fresh and the sides were delicious. I haven’t tried the desserts yet but they look awesome. Looking forward to trying for dinner where they offer a full menu. Highly recommend.

This guy really knows how to build a schnitzel and German kartoffeln. Awesome food, every time, and the cake is out of this world. I lived in Germany 13 years and came to be a connoisseur of German cuisine, and this little place is off the chain good ! Even if you go just for the bakery, its the best ! The only reason I give 4 out of 5 stars is because the hours of operation SUCK !!! Most of the time I drive by here its closed… geschlossen…oh well, I will be back when they are open again!

This is easily the best restaurant and bakery in the Fort Knox /Radcliff area! The owners and servers are excellent! It is relatively small so get there early.

I was forced to eat here once because my boss picked the place. If it were up to me I’d have never walked one foot inside this dump. If all German food tastes like this dump I’m glad I never got stationed in Germany. One word describes this joint. DISGUSTING. I wouldn’t eat here again if someone paid me.

The food here is better than the German food I had in Germany! This is a small mom and pop shop with out standing German food and desserts. The cheese cake is to die for. They have a buffet everyday which is small but very yummy since most items are cooked and brought out in small quantities. The owners are nice and patient explaining the German food in case you forgot what some items were. Tip; Don’t waste your $$ at Carolines… ick!
