We came in a a Thursday for dinner. The special was ½ chicken with mashed potatoes — not what I wanted — so I ordered the ½ rotisserie chicken with salad/waffle fries. My wife ordered a combo ribs/chicken dish with garlic mashed potatoes. I thought my chicken was really good and the waffle fries were plentiful and good. My wife’s falling off the bone ribs and chicken dinner was«pretty darn good,» using her own words. The service was friendly and the place was busy. A well-earned 3 ½ stars. Since we were pleased with the above meal, we came back for lunch on another day. I ordered the Charcoal Burger, my wife ordered a mushroom burger. This restaurant has a «fixings bar» where you can enhance your burgers with additional toppings. Nice touch. Both burgers were really good. My wife had the onion strings, I had the waffle fires. I really like the waffle fries. We will be back … maybe try the pizza, fish, or …

Same as the south side: I come for the pizza. Classic white is my goto, but they’re all good, even the weird specialty pizzas, like the bbq chicken, or the buffalo chicken. We also love getting a pizza, and starting with their«starting lineup.» Wings, ribs, shrooms, cheese & strings — mmmmm! This one’s just a lil smaller than the Charcoal on HWY20, & a lil more low key — quieter. But I do have one criticism: LOSETHE F@&KINCOUNTRYMUSIC!!! Oy vey!!! I’m also bummed that they switched to coke products. Mt. Dew is so far superior to mello yello :( Guess I’ll be havin a beer instead. Aw, Darn.

Kind staff. But the food was only mediocre. I ordered their specialty which is supposedly the rotisserie chicken. My opinion, Boston market beats them by 50 football fields. Their chicken was dryyyyy and had no flavor! At least have some flavor ya know. I did order the bacon wrapped water chestnuts which is why this review has some stars(other than the nice server we had). It was different… but yummy. I live super close to here so I’m most likely to come back every month. But definitely not ordering the chicken again.

I came in for the Thursday half a chicken dinner. This is served with garlic mashed redskin potatoes. Our very nice server went to ask her manager if I could have french fries rather than the mashed. She(the manager) said no. This would have been extremely troubling had we brought our daughter with as she has a garlic allergy. This in my book makes the restaurant a definite no go for people who have any food handicaps. I was offered the privilege of paying them 1.99 to replace my mashed potatoes. I had coffee to drink which was fresh and excellent. The server was friendly and personable. The restaurant was clean and temperate.

Great food and service. Love their chicken. I’ve honestly never had a bad meal here. No complaints AT all.

Food was great. Service was horrible. 5 minutes to be acknowledged! On a slow Friday, that is unacceptable.

My family has been coming to this«establishment» for years. We had a bad order that we had gotten for carryout and they gave us a gift certificate for our next meal. We like to give a place a second chance but oh lord. We got the chicken and it was bleeding. The medium rare steak was tougher than leather boots and when we called to tell them they didn’t seem to give a damn. We will never frequent this place again.

Compared to the other Racine location, this Charcoal Grill has a very hole-in-the-corner ambience. Think George Webb’s with drinks vs. Chancery with rotisserie chicken. When we lived on the North Side of Racine, though, we ate there all the time, decent family style restaurants being in short supply on that side of town then – and even now. We were in town the other night and stopped here after shopping at the north side Milaeger’s. It hasn’t changed much – I’m not sure they’ve even updated the booths, but the bathrooms now meet basic standards, which is something. The wait staff is still friendly and the food good basic American family restaurant cooking.

While not as large as it’s big brother along Highway 20(the«Racine West» location), this location on Highway 32 just south of 3 Mile has the same menu and feeling. Service has always been friendly and fast. The food doesn’t disappoint, and the weekly specials are great for families on a budget(Wednesdays kids eat free, Thursday’s $ 6.49 half rotisserie chicken dinner, and Sunday’s $ 10.99 brunch buffet). The rotisserie chicken is tasty and not dry, and the other sandwiches and pizzas on the menu are good. This location used to have very limited alcohol selection, but now has a decent bar with beer, wine and mixed drinks.
