Renovation. No one wants to do it, but it needs to be done, and lets face it, its a dirty, messy job. We toy with it and ask ourselves will it be worth the hassle? Will I survive the process? Will it look better once its done? The answer is, YES. But, it needs to be done with the right people. Enter Brewer Contracting. Since day one Ken has been a stand up fellow and true to his word. I hired him to remove carpeting from a room we call«the pass through» and a tile floor in our kitchen and replace it with pre-finished hardwood flooring that another tradesmen was unable to do. I had all the materials; we just needed the installation completed. Day one-Ken and his crew arrive EARLY at 7:50 am to start work. His team is respectful, kind and worked around me and my 3 standard poodles-stopping their work to let them out, and did as much as they could to protect my home, and my dogs from the very loud noise involved with demolition and the dust of removing years of previous renovation. It was messy and loud. My pups were stressed, but Ken understood and worked with me along to way to make sure WE were okay, which I really loved and appreciated. No one broke for lunch; they kept working at a steady pace and got the job done in one day. I very much appreciated he understood our dogs are our kids and didn’t minimize their comfort. Day two-another new crew came in-the finishing and installation group-on time and ready to work. Another great group of guys-respectful, professional and mindful of my working at home and my pups being home. Another full day of work, with all attention to detail from the previous day. Day three. As Ken promised me the job was a three day job-he stood by his word and got even more tradesmen in to get it done and get it done on time. It seemed it would be nip and tuck at the end, but he rallied his troops and made it happen. They even did the finishing work by hand to match my present molding, and put in a microwave for me, which was above and beyond the call of duty. Our garage became a mill working shop as it was 3 degrees outside. They worked in the cold like it was 58 out-this was impressive. One thing was ruined during the job and Ken is in the process of making it right. He didn’t shirk his responsibility and ordered wallpaper to fix the challenge that occurred during demo. This solidifies to me that he is a good, honest person who owns up to a mishap. Love that– and that type of character and moral fiber is hard to find. I am thrilled with the results and would recommend Ken and his crew to do any job one would need. I feel grateful that we’ve found someone who we can work with for years to come as our home changes.
