Dr DiCecca has a wonderful P.A. named Tim working there! If you have to go make sure you try to see him. He’s excellent!

Dr Heller is most incompetent and not very willing to listen to the patient. I had knee surgery in June 2009 and after multiple hospitalizations and a very uncaring Attitude I was released from His care with a band aid and told I was ok. this was March 2010– In fact I had contracted 2 major infections, was hallucinating, had to have the knee surgical ally removed spent another month in the hospital and Would have DIED had I not sought treatment at Brigham. Thank God for Brigham Women’s Hosp.

Stay away from Dr. Frederick Heller and Orthopedic Surgery of Quincy! Only giving them 1 star because Unilocal!forces me to give at least one. If it was up to me, I would give them 0 stars. Severely sprained my ankle the day before my birthday January 21. Called the nurses at my primary care who were awesome. Very sympathetic, told me to RICE — rest, ice, compression and elevation, take Advil and if the pain got out of control to go to emergency. If it wasn’t better in 3 days, come in for an x-ray. Waited 5 days, could not see my ankle bones on either side through the swelling. Made an appointment with Dr. Frederick Heller at Orthopedic Surgery of Quincy because I thought he was a specialist. Painfully forced my ankle into a winter boot because there was a fresh snowstorm of 10 – 12 inches on the ground. Drove through the snowstorm and climbed through a slippery unplowed parking lot to get to the office. Gave the receptionists my health insurance card, both kept asking me if I had another health plan. I said no and they argued with me that I had a Tufts Health Plan which I do not. Never had trouble using my health plan before. Finally get in to see the doctor, an assistant comes to take an x-ray. Took one x-ray flat, then sharply TWISTED my ankle to the right with no warning to take a sideway x-ray. I screamed in shock and pain and she literally rolled her eyes and never apologized. Nice bedside manner. Limp back to the exam room, Dr. Heller comes in for literally 30 seconds, barely looks at my ankle and tells me «Good news! Nothing’s broken or fractured! You’re all set» I said, what about the fact that my ankle is 5 times its regular size and I cannot walk on it. I stand on my feet teaching, shouldn’t I have something to immobilize it? He told me my health insurance didn’t cover that and it was too expensive. Never showed me how to wrap my ankle with an ace bandage or gave any further instructions. Told me to come back if it wasn’t better in a couple of weeks. I guess so I could give him another $ 18 for another 30 seconds. Went online for information when I got home, went to the store, bought an ankle stabliizer brace, more Advil, ice packs and treated myself. 8 weeks later my ankle is swollen when I wake up and so swollen at the end of each day I can’t see my ankle bones and in constant pain. Have an appointment with a physical therapist next week. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a fracture or torn tendon. My ankle should be healed by now. I should have spent the $ 18 on a few martinis, it would have made me feel better for the moment!
