I had the unfortunate luck to deal with Andrew Barrett when a client of mine reneged upon their contractual obligation to pay me for the work that I performed. Although most of my communications and dealings occurred directly with my client, my client insisted that Andrew Barrett be copied on all emails and other communications; and what astonished me was Andrew’s silent acceptance and tacit agreement that a contractor could fundamentally breach a contract and refuse to pay for services that were provided. The rub? The work that I do relates to people who are homeless, and there are few dollars to go around, and I worry constantly about how to best use these dollars, and I provide multiple reports regarding how I’ve used these dollars. But Andrew Barret has decided that none of this matters.
