Top Notch Fish and Chips. Great fish and chips are hard to come by and Grumps does it right! The batter is perfect; just enough crisp and not overly greasy. Highly recommend.

After living in Quincy for the past 7 years, can you believe this was my first trip to Grumpy White’s?! Well, I’m glad we finally went. It’s a comfortable family oriented restaurant. nothing fancy. The food is comfort home style food. We ordered the mozzarella sticks to start — hot and crunchy. I ordered the American Chop Suey and the hubs ordered the Fried Chicken with gravy and Mash. Both meals were tasty and hot. The prices I felt were slightly higher than I expected for the quality, but it wasn’t steep that I wouldn’t return. And any place where I feel comfortable to bring my 1 year old is a winner.

This place is awesome. I’ve only had a couple of things because it’s good every time. Grumpy’s is known for their buffalo chicken sandwich– personal favorite as well. The fries are good and crispy. I’ve also had the chicken Parmesan sandwich, garlic bread, and cheesy garlic bread. The only thing I’d have to say is that there’s actually too much cheese on the cheesy garlic bread. But everything else has been delicious. The prices are cheap and the service is great.

Food was great. service was terrible. and the side talk the waitresses were having was gross… who wants to hear about STDS while you eat?

The atmosphere is classic. The food is okay, my boyfriend got a double burger and I got a fish sandwich. I got a nice size piece of fish and the fries were great. The gravy we got to dip our fries in were out of this world. Next time I want to get the turkey dinner. Not fancy food my any means but you get what you get, a little pricey considering the quality but by no means is that a complaint. Definitely very greasy, so a great place to fight off a hangover.

Their burgers are not anything to snub your nose at. They are always cooked just to your liking, on a deliciously buttery bun and hot, made to order fries.

Went today to check this hidden gem in Quincy. Must say I’m it meets all 3 of my expectations. 1) atmosphere — very family oriented. Simple comfy feel. Has keno and a lottery ticket vending machine. 2) customer service– waitress was very friendly, didn’t give any attitudes, gave us enough time to go over menu, very smooth interaction. 3) food(quality, taste, presentation) — got the grumpy double patty cheese burger with bacon(add 1.50). Quality: don’t know don’t care(seems fresh). Taste: was Bomb!!! Hits the spot. Very juicy and one of the best burgers I ever had. Better than five guys– just putting it out there. Presentation– PASSED! Next time I’m gonna try their buffalo chicken sandwich. Will be back for sure!!!

My wife and I tried Grumpy Mike’s for the first time after living in Quincy for few years. Great service and food was pretty good. We got served fairly quickly even though place was at decent capacity for a Saturday night. The Grumpy double cheeseburger was good. Honestly It was greasy but still very good. Wife got the buffalo chicken sandwich and we both enjoyed that as well. We will come back again.

The food here is AMAZING! I recently went here for the first time with some of my friends. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich. It didn’t come with much, but it was enough to make me want more. One of my friends ordered a baked mac and cheese dish, and it mouth watering. It tasted like the ultimate comfort food. I was surprised by this little place, and can’t wait to go back!

Last two visits I had the lobster roll and scallop roll. Lobster roll was huge and great. Fresh with huge chunks. Best I have had in many years. Scallop roll was very good with mostly large scallops which were sweet and lightly fried. I will definitely order both again.

Very Yummy greasy spoon! This is not the place to go if you are trying to eat healthy, but it sure was good! We split the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, which was a pretty big portion for 2 people. My boyfriend got the buffalo chicken sandwich, and I got the fish sandwich. The portions are HUGE! We both took half our sandwiches home with us. I read other reviews about a cranky waitress, but our waitress was pleasant and very attentive. Will be going here next time I need greasy food!

Went to Grumpy Whites last night(Saint Patty’s Day) for a pint with my boyfriend and his father. We sat at the bar and the food was good per usual. It wasn’t overly busy, us and a few other patrons scattered throughout the bar and what seemed to be a basketball team at the high-tops in the bar area. The language used by this bartender while yelling to the guys behind us was appalling. She continually yelled out offensive words, pouring shots for the guys and calling them«pussy» if they didn’t drink it. Giving out Dr. McGillicuddy’s shots«5 for the price of 3». Eventually she drove us out of there because her unprofessionalism was absolutely ridiculous. All this before 10pm at a place that claims to be family friendly. It’s really a shame. If there is a question on which bartender it was, she was an older woman with short, black curly hair. 3 stars for the food. 0 for this«lady»

YUMMY! 5-stars from 4 different people with different tastes! Mom-dukes told my boyfriend that he better never make his way over to Everett to see me without bringing her a french onion soup. She also had a chicken parm sub. My dad is a picky eater who was born and raised in New York… Now, anyone from New York knows that when it comes to Pastrami, NYC does it like NOONEELSE. This place had him licking the plate. He loved it. And he caught the«itis» afterwards. Hahah! Babe got the buffalo chicken sandwich, and he says he always loves it(he grew up in Quincy) I got the garlic chicken tender mac and cheese. YUM! ALLWEREHEAPINGPLATES. Babe and dad ate their sandwhiches in full. Mom and I ended up taking half of ours home and enjoying them later. Two thumbs up!

One of the great hidden gems south of Boston. Lunch or dinner you can’t go wrong. Awesome garlic burgers and fries, great comfort food dinners, especially the turkey dinner or country chicken dinner. Steak and cheese and buffalo chicken sandwiches are no joke either. Good portions and nice prices. Bar available too. Only knock is that sometimes the«aged and experienced» staff can be a little cranky and slow, but perhaps that adds to the vintage«diner» feel of this renovated hole in the wall. The food makes up for any cons tho. A must try.

Excellent friendly service. Plenty of parking. Good fried clams. Wonderful fish sandwhich. Also decent standard american food. Prices are a lille high compared to the competition. I still prefer the hingham libster pound or legal or captain mardens.

Simple menu, american comfort food, local spot, and bar. The staff is always awesome(despite the misleading name, Grumpy’s) Known for their chicken sandwich and burgers. Comfortable local atmosphere, mostly booths, couple high tops, couple tables. My local favorite
