I had recently purchased an 02′ Cadillac Deville from my step-​brother and took it into this shop because of the proximity to my address at the time. I asked the head mechanic to perform basic maintenance (change oil, coolant and brakes) on the car.
When I took the car in it was during the winter of Feb. 2015. During this time, the state of Massachusetts was hit by multiple snow storms. A snow storm had hit MA the same weekend I dropped off my car.
I called the head mechanic to see how much longer would it be for me to get my car back. Understandably, I knew due to the amount of snow I would have to wait longer than expected to get my car back. He replied there was lots of snow and that it was holding him back from finishing the repairs I had requested.
Unfortunately, Massachusetts was hit by more snow storms and after every time a snow storm hit I would call asking how long it will be for me to get my car back. I would get the same excuses every time by them. I assumed that the snow was causing them difficultly in moving cars around.
Finally I decided to go check things out for myself. It turned out after each snow storm he would allow the snow to accumulate on of my car instead of shoveling it out. I do not know why he would cause such an inconvenience to me because my car was desperately needed for me to get to school and car since the MBTA was having its own transportation issues.
I have posted the pictures of my car being completely buried underneath the snow at this location. Hopefully, this review will help you not to find your car buried underneath piles of snow when you need it by avoiding this location at all costs!

The prices are reasonable. But service and attitude are fair. They never tell u any details about the process of fixing the car.

The price is reasonable but their work is unreliable. I had my father’s vehicle fixed multiple times here and it seems to have more issues than ever. They do not use the correct layers of paint when repainting the exterior of your vehicle so beware of paint easily chipping away. They are preferred by insurance companies for cutting corners and using lower end parts to reduce the cost.

Their price is fair, but service attitude needs improving. I have been to this place for over a year due to their lower prices, but each time it has been a hassle to schedule appointments or get confirmation on the finish time — I usually end up spending half day just to wait for the repair/​service to be done. However I kept going back due to their reasonable prices — until today.
I had an oil leak and wanted to have it checked and fixed if possible. I called in the morning to ask if they have time to take me in, and was told they do. I drove 45min to quincy, and was told they don’t have time to even look at my car. Gone an hour and half of my time on such a gorgeous sunny day.
The owner even refused to apologize for wasting my time, even though I have been a long time customer. I won’t be coming back ever again!

Quick service at a fair price. Came in on a weekend when no one else was open and we were able to get in and out within a half hour with some minor engine repairs.

These guys are great — everything the other reviewers said is true, especially, and most importantly the great quality of repair and fair prices. I had dented rear bumpers on two vehicles repaired and made to look like new far below what it would have cost at the dealership-​owned shop. This shop is such a hidden gem!

These guys are efficient, well priced, and have great service. They quoted me $ 180 for the installation/​replacement of two catalytic converters with high flows. A couple other places nearby that I went to didn’t even want to try to attempt it because of the location of the 2^nd one. Decided to check these guys out based on some recommendations and I’m glad I did.
Came in the next day with it done and they only charged $ 160. My mechanic, Abby, stayed 25 minutes beyond closing just to make sure I made it out with the vehicle. Ended up giving him a generous tip because of it.
Now, be aware that this is a Chinese owned and run mechanic shop. Don’t let that deter you though. There are a few guys that speak fluent English, and the prices and worksmanship can’t be beat. You can even check out your car as it’s being worked on if you enjoy watching.
I plan to make these guys my main, go-​to car shop while I’m still in the area.

They quoted me $ 100 to fix the rust on my 95′ Honda Accord. I had significant rust above rear wheels and they cut it off and put plymetal over it and sanded it to make it look very good all within the hour for $ 100. Another 2 autobody places wanted to charge me in excess of $ 250 and a ridiculous amount more for a small paint job on the area.
Since my car was silver the plymetal works fine so did not need a paint job there.
Highly recommend these guys. They are AMAZING, affordable, and FAST!

These guys are ridiculous and I mean that in a good way. I had a 96′ nissan with close to 200kmiles on it. Even though this place is really out of the way, I’d come here whenever I need repair work exceeding $ 100. Last year my car couldn’t pass the inspection because a broken exhaust pipe. Another garage was going to charge me $ 800 to replace it. I took my car here and they soldered the pipe for $ 50. Early this year, another garage tried to talk me into fixing my leak gasket. I took my car here they told me if i won’t be keeping the car for much longer, then no need to worry about the gasket. In my lifetime, that is the first time a service provider has talked me out of paying for his service, lol. Given my rave review, you might wonder why there is only one other review of this place. The reason is simple, most of their customers seem to be Chinese. So yeah, like the other reviewer said, it is kind of an underground society.

Cox Auto has all the typical must haves in a mechanic including: fast service, honesty, and reliable prices. BUT, the real reason I keep coming back is for their quirkiness. I love it, makes the «oh god my car died» pains disappear into laughter.
–They tend to answer the phone in Chinese. Or just Hello? You usually have to ask twice whether this is Cox Auto. It makes me feel like I’m in a secret society.
–When they leave you a message, it usually goes something like «This is mumblemumble from Coxauto (said as one word). Call me.» No number. Cracks me up every time.
— When I ask what was wrong with my car, it usually goes like this: «Your mrmrmotor was bad. We fixed.» Me: «My roter? Which one?» Them: «Uh, huh. Your mrmrmrotor» Me: Oh, my motor? Them: Yes, motor. We fixed.” Me: Oh… Thanks?
