Best seafood hands down! I love this place and the family that owns it! They are the nicest people and provided the best quality seafood along with friendly service! I would highly recommend Burke’s to anyone!

Visiting Boston with the family. Found about this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. Seating is very limited and so is parking but the food was fantastic. Everyone was really pleased with their menu selection and choices available. We ended up sharing with each other what we ordered. The owner was there and when we told him we were visiting from California, DC and SC he seemed really appreciative and was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to a seafood lover.

SOFT SHELL CRAB. MUST HAVE. And at a great price!
Definitely stop by this place if you are a soft shell crab lover. Very crispy, and the coating is light so you don’t feel like you are consuming too much fried crap.
A bit of a trek for me to get to Quincy, but it was completely worth it.

This place is great! I think it’s a family own business.
We ordered two steamed lobsters, and the lobster salad sandwich. I believe they were all under $ 20. All three came with a clam soup. My brother ordered the fried shrimp. Also another delicious dish. Everything was reasonably priced (as compared to getting steamed lobster and clam soup in NYC which would’ve cost over $ 40?).
Next time I go back to the Boston area, I’d love to visit this place again.

Wife and I traveling from California. We were searching for a good locally owned/​locally sourced seafood restaurant. We are so glad we found Burke’s.
There is nothing like their seafood chowder. I haven’t had anything like it in Monterey, San Francisco, Moss Landing, etc.
We also had the fisherman’s platter. It came stacked with fried clams, scallops, haddock. We substituted onions rings for the fries. Definitely enough for 2 – 3 people.
The owners were really nice and excited that we were visiting from California. They explained how most of their fish was caught locally, with the exception of a few exotic items and salmon which was fresh caught from the Pacific. The prices were reasonable. Seating is limited but we ventured on a weekday evening so we had no problem finding a seat.
The next time visiting Boston we will go here.

First off, I have to admit that the food is well prepared and delicious. Really good in my personal opinion.
My only gripe is with the portions and the cost of those portions. I ordered a fried shrimp platter/​dinner, it came with a total of 6 shrimp’s and a handful of fries… For a whopping $ 17.99. I understand that seafood can typically be overpriced during certain seasons but this is a little much guys. A little disappointing.

The Alaskian King Crab legs made our little clambake absolutely perfect this past weekend. Wish we would have found this place sooner and purchased the steamers here instead of at a grocery store. We know better for next time, and can’t wait to try everything they have to offer! The to-​go oven ready meals also look great! Very fresh, the shop doesn’t smell, and the owner’s are friendly.

Nice family owned business. I like to come here when I’m craving seafood since it’s the most convenient for me. I usually order the Super Sandwich Special, which comes with your choice of a sandwich, chowder, and side for $ 12.99. It always fills me up. I also like the fried clams, which have a nice batter to them and aren’t greasy.
I only wish that some of the fried seafood plates were larger and that they stay open later. They close at 6:30pm Tue-​Wed and at 8:00pm Thur-​Sat.

Clam chowder — A+ — super tasty
Lobster bisque — B — I’ve had better. The taste was a little off. I can’t quite put my finger on it.
Lobster Roll — A+ perfect on baguette
Recommend if you love seafood that’s fresh.

Owner Matt was super awesome and helpful. Got their house chowder; had all sorts of seafood bits in it and big ol’ pieces of lobster. Could possibly be the best Seafood Chowder that I’ve ever had. Got their feast plate. Good idea for the palate, bad idea for the stomach. Way too much food for one individual to consume (somehow I managed to do it, fries excepting). Haddock was flaky with a nice cornmeal crisp exterior. And the clam strips. Oh my goodness, they were whole-​clam clam strips, not the rubbery frozen kind, but you could even taste the mealy part of the clam, it was the only time I’ve had this kind. It was amazing. Scallops plump and juicy.
I could keep on going but I would then be just ranting. Will be back for their whole lobster dinner.

Burke’s has good quality seafood, even though the portion size may be smaller (than Tony’s). I thought the lobster roll here was more fresh. The fisherman’s platter was ok. The batter could use a bit more taste. The seafood chowder was on point though. It was teemed with bits and pieces of seafood. The broth had a good creamy consistency. Seating could be limited during high traffic, so plan accordingly!

You won’t get more friendly service anywhere else! I wanted Lobster and went to Stop and Shop first to price check. They were $ 11.99/lb at Stop and Shop for crappy looking lobster.
So I decided I would go to Burke’s and get them even if they were a little more. Not the case! $ 8.99/lb.
Lesson learned: just because Burke’s is a locally owned fresh fish market with an awesome selection and stellar staff doesn’t mean their prices are inflated.
Get your fish here, you won’t regret it!
Oh! And their stuffed quahogs are so good!

Soft shell crab season? Just another reason for me to make a visit to Burke’s Seafood! If you haven’t already signed up for their monthly newsletter, go to their website and do so right now. This is how I know what’s in season and what’s fresh at Burke’s.
I’ve had soft shell crabs at many restaurants (Lincoln 51, Atlantic Fish, ICOB) and Burke’s does it the best. Tasty, natural flavors in a light coat of batter. You can order it straight up, or in a sandwich as well. I also had the haddock sandwich with rings as well. The rings are thinly cut and sweet! Seafood heaven =)
Someone give me another excuse to return to Burke’s!

Burke’s is Quality, Quality, Quality.
Got there at an off peak 3:30 PM for a late lunch. Had a big hankering for some deep fried belly clams and could not resist the lobster and chowdah special. So I got both.
Clams were out of this world crispy and generous. The clam chowdah was dead on perfect in taste/​texture and classically simply prepared. Lobster was what you thought it’ll be, fresh, sweet, and cooked just right.
Dining room is a self serve annex next door to their fresh fish store. You might luck out and find yourself dining alone for a zen-​like meal during an off peak time.

This is an excellent fish market that also serves cooked food, both friend and broiled.
The fish and seafood are super fresh. The cooked food is delicious also. I love their fried clams, and fish and chips. No table service for dining in. You order, pay, pick up your food, and bus your own paper/​plastic. Only about 6 or 7 tables in the entire dining area. Park around the corner (in back) in a free parking lot as parking is tight on Billings Road. Burke’s has been around for about 50 years, maybe longer, and my family have been patrons practically since day 1. And we are fussy! Go now.
My favorite fried seafood in Quincy. I prefer Burke’s to Grumpy White’s.

In the area for the Boston Marathon, we looked for a place to get good seafood. We ate at Legal Seafood our first night and were disappointed.
Fortunately, a few nights later, we got on the wrong train and ended up in North Quincy. We checked Unilocal for seafood and found this gem.
Lobster roll, seafood salad roll, onion rings and French fries were all fresh and delicious! The portions of seafood were generous, there was little mayo in the mix, and the buns themselves were also fresh.
The owner was friendly, prices were very reasonable, and you could tell that this place had been in business for a lot of years and would continue to be for a lot more.
This is one of the best meals we had on our entire Boston trip.

Cyndy’s Bottom Line: Delicious lobster rolls!
We stopped here to have a lobster roll based the Unilocal reviews and enjoyed it! The lobster was cooked perfectly mixed with a little bit of celery. The split top bun was grilled golden and buttery.
Ordered onion rings and it was delicious. Thin strings with a light batter and crispy.
Good hearty clam chowder.

The Lobster, scallops and fish & chips were all great. I had read about the place on Unilocal and we wanted to try it during our trip. We were staying out west of Quincy so it was easy trip over to the location. You order at the counter and wait for a table to open up and sit down. We only had to wait a few minutes for our table, since we were a little later in the night. They said they were busy all day and had just slowed down a little.
Each of the items were fresh and cooked simply, but done well. The focus was on the fresh fish not the sauce or breading.

Burke’s Seafood started out as a simple family-​run neighborhood seafood market. According to a newspaper article posted in the single person restroom out back of the dining space named the «Portside Room», they expanded into this space next door in 2009, where there were 9 tables set for two or four apiece.
Yet, when we arrived one winter’s evening, they were still a simple, family-​run, neighborhood place. The pair seated in the market awaiting seating in the room next door were relatively recent regulars, having only discovered this place a few years before our inaugural visit, and were happy to share their joy of the place and to give these newbies a few tips on how things are handled here.
So, while we waited for a table to be cleared for us, we checked out the paper take-​out menu. Once we were sat, we set things down as we were instructed and joined the line out in the market that had magically appeared during our brief stop in the dining room. We placed our order with Dick Burke, the proprietor of the establishment as IDed by the photo posted with that article, paid, sat back down, and very shortly after, Margaret Burke (proprietress as per same article photo) came over to deliver our dinner fresh from the fryer.
Water, napkins, ketchup and such were set by the trash and recycle bins — speaking of which, please do NOT toss the black trays out.
Their Fisherman’s Platter, haddock, scallops, whole clams, french fries & cole slaw $ 19.99 came lightly fried in a puffy batter, with a count of 9 each scallops and clams. The seafood were all fresh and meaty. The fries could have done with a longer bath in the fryer, but that could be fixed by the advice volunteered by another diner of requesting extra crispy generally. The cole slaw was fresh and crisp, though not quite to be considered a sweet sort.
Eyeballing a neighbor’s broiled fish dinner, the so called small 6oz portion seemed much more generous than the fish normally served at a sit-​down restaurant.
If you’re looking for something for later, they have a selection of homemade oven-​ready entrees in their freezer.
Currently on my short list of things to try: Jumbo Lump Crabcakes, their chowders, something broiled with either the rice pilaf or roasted potatoes, fish tacos…
The only thing missing — real veggie options.
