My husband and I hired Gregory to perform an inspection of an older home in Middle Village. Gregory was incredibly meticulous and thorough and took the time to look at everything he could visually see inside and outside the house. What we learned from Gregory’s inspection is that there are so many issues in older homes that can go unnoticed for many years that an average person just doesn’t see when you are just walking through with an agent. Gregory knows exactly what to look for and really does make you an informed buyer. He’s open to questions and wants to ensure you are aware of everything he is looking at. We recently purchased a one family house in Brooklyn that was build in the 1930’s. We were very worried about finding a good inspector and decided to use Gregory because he is a professional engineer. During the home inspection process, Gregory was very knowledgeable. He pointed out all the problems with the home that we would’ve otherwise miss, which made us better prepared to deal with the repairs. He also provided us with a very detailed written report. I called Gregory to inspect a studio co-​op apartment I am purchasing in Kew Gardens, Queens. Initially I felt the inspection price was a little high for such a small apartment, and there was no discount for it being a studio. However, I was impressed by the great reviews posted by others about Gregory online and by the fact that he is not just a home inspector but also a Civil/​Structural Engineer. So I decided to give him a shot, and he did not disappoint.
Gregory was professional, reliable, and thorough. He was extremely accommodating and flexible in setting up the appointment, which required a lot of back and forth phone calls because I had to coordinate his availability with myself and several other busy people who needed to be present. During this process he always returned my calls in a timely manner. He even allowed me to confirm my appointment with him just 2 hours before the scheduled inspection time — a gesture I really appreciated!
When we finally did the inspection he was very patient and took extra time to address the specific concerns I had about the apartment. I felt very reassured by his advice. The entire inspection process took about 40 minutes. A few days later he e-​mailed me an incredibly detailed report.
One thing to keep in mind is that Gregory’s inspection is visual. That means if you need to dig deeper into one of his findings, you will need to hire the appropriate specialist (e.g. plumber, electrician, etc.) However, he is a highly trained eye who will arm you with the information you need to to solve a wide variety of potential problems more quickly and more efficiently then you ever would be able to without him. I was really amazed at what an expert like him was able to ascertain in such a short time. He is a smart investment for your future home purchase and I recommend him very highly!

I doubted a bit when calling Greg because he charges a bit more than a few other inspectors I called. But overall in my opinion he is very professional and thorough. He explains findings on site very well and his report is very neat and professionally written — you can tell he spent time on the report.
This is the first time I hire an home inspector so I can’t really do a comparison, but I would say the quality of the report delivered is higher than my expectation.

know their stuff, given that the place hadn’t been lived

Gregory take a look. Mr. Martins was extremely thorough
throughout the entire process from the questions he asked
of the realtor right down to taking a detailed look at some
flooring in a back room that looked off to him. He even
prepared a lengthy assessment of everything during the
inspection and provided a copy to my cousin for his own
