History

Established in 1976.

Russ’ True Value was established in 1976 to serve the farmers of the Queen Creek area by Russ and Jeanie Carlson. The business grew quickly and in 1982 Russ had built and moved to a new building on Ellsworth road. By 2001, the rapidly growing and changing Queen Creek area needed a bigger hardware store. Russ built a new building at the stores current Ocotillo Road location. Russ’ True Value has been adapting to the ever changing Queen Creek environment. We have grown to carry and supply items that home owners in our area need, while still keeping a lot of the agricultural and heavy hardware items the farmers of the area have always depended on us for.

I showed up as they were closing the doors on a friday night. They still let me in and helped me find bolts i needed. Friendly & professional help. I was told the closest supply store was in Gilbert but then i found this place. I will go here more often.

We recently moved to QC and I’ve now been to Russ’s three times. I’ll never go back to one of the big box stores unless it’s for something Russ’s doesn’t have. I love supporting local business rather than chain stores, even if I have to pay a little more, but that wasn’t the case at Russ’s. I made a relatively large purchase of gas powered lawn equipment, they made me a great deal on top of items that were already on discount sale prices. Before I left one of the employees filled the gas tanks and started the engines to make sure they ran good, also answered any operational questions I had. They were extremely helpful and had great customer service, unlike the big box stores out there. I guarantee Lowes or HD would never have done that for me. I will go back to Russ’s True Value every chance I get! They also have the little miscellaneous items and support parts the the others don’t carry.

I was looking for wheels for my heave duty dolly. The wheels were flat. I had just come from discount tire who was unable to fix the flats. Matt helped me find the wheels and after he realized I was going to have to figure out how to change the wheels out he offered to have Colleague change the wheels for me. Andre gladly changed the wheels. What a big help. I wasn’t looking forward to doing this myself. Great customer service.

I have been here a few times and went in today to fill some propane bottles. These guys are much cheaper than any of the other places and on top of that, if you have a rewards card, you receive a further discount off their already cheaper propane.
One of the guys took my bottles back for me and even though their tank was in the middle of being filled, they filled mine right up and I was done in no time.
The other times I have been there I have experienced nothing but knowledgeable staff whom are more than willing to help.

We recently moved to Queen Creek and several new neighbors recommended Russ Hardware to us as the place to go when you need things. Have been there many times over the last 6 months and have been highly satisfied with their selection, quality of their goods and their friendly, helpful staff. Particularly like that they carry items needed for taking care of larger properties.

The best place to support the local guy! In Queen Creek for many years, Russ True Value still has that little town feel and great service without all the big box flash. I like it that they know me by name and take the time to help me with whatever I need. I vote with my dollars, so good service is important to me. We need more places like this in our community.

WOW! Where do you find somewhere that has staff willing to go the extra mile any more? AMAZING, friendly, courteous and outstanding effort. Called there tonight to inquire if they had a specific drawer knob. Mike didn’t hum-​ho on the phone, nor did he make a guess. He said, give me just a moment and I will go check to make sure. That is exactly what he did, a few moments later he got back on the phone and stated that he indeed had them but only had two of them. Two is EXACTLY what I need. Come on peeps, to most it would simply be «just a knob», he had no idea that I had been searching for this specific knob for a couple weeks. I’m a local business owner, and I know how tough it is to find «quality» employees. OUTSTANDING effort Mike. I’ll be there tomorrow to pick up my knobs!

My review concerns the store, in general — Not their rental counter.
I like this store because it has the «Mom & Pop» aura — The employees that are there have been there for some time, and Russ himself is always there to help out when needed. That says something.
The employees are EXTREMEMLY helpful — Overly-​helpful at times, but I’m not going to complain about that! Checking-​out is super-​fast, and selection of items is good.
Sure, you might end up having to get something at Home Depot or Lowe’s, but try and give Russ some of your business — You’ll like what you find here.
